In 2011, a bakery that specializes in natural yeast opened in Asagaya, the year of the earthquake. They always aim to have a visible relationship with their customers, providing delicious bread. They use different types of yeast such as "Dansawa yeast" and "Shirakami yeast" for over 60 varieties of bread. They offer a wide range of soft and hard bread, appealing to all ages and genders. Each price tag includes information about the type of yeast used. One of their popular items is the Cranberry & Cream Cheese Bagel for 280 yen (Dansawa yeast), which features cranberries and cream cheese mixed into the dough. The bagel has a moist surface, chewy interior, and a delicious balance of sweet-sour cranberries and cream cheese. It is satisfyingly large and best enjoyed at room temperature. With many other tempting bread options, I would love to visit this bakery in Asagaya again.

Three Little Pigs - 290 yen
Sweets Crescent - 280 yen
I purchased the Three Little Pigs visually. They come with red bean paste, custard cream, and chocolate cream fillings. The flavors are nostalgic. The sweet crescent dough is soft and just the right amount of sweetness, making it easy to eat. There are plenty of sweet potato dice inside.

Bread shaped like Chocopanman Anpanman? It has a sweet taste similar to milk chocolate cream, about the taste I had when I was young. A favorite among small children, it brings back nostalgic flavors. A bakery where you can enjoy nostalgic bread.

This is a bakery in Asagaya that specializes in naturally fermented bread. After having lunch, I stopped by here. Later, we went to a gelato shop on the opposite side of the station, but my daughter was not happy because we walked too much. They offer a variety of bread, from hard bread to side dishes and sweet bread. There is also a cafe attached to the bakery. I bought the Basil Epi (290 yen) and the Chocolate Coronet (230 yen). I often buy the Bacon Epi, but the Basil-based Epi was unique, so I decided to try it. The bread was soft and had a good elasticity. The combination of bacon and basil worked well together. It could also be a good snack with alcohol. The Chocolate Coronet was for my daughter, and she said it was delicious. (May 2023) The current Tabelog rating is 3.57.

I thought they were serving breakfast, but when I arrived before 9 am, I was told that the cafe service starts at 9:30. They also have a lunch menu starting at 11 am, which includes soup and other items. For breakfast, you can choose a bread and have it warmed up for you. I was disappointed because I didn't have enough information and it was different from what I imagined. I had mushroom and bacon focaccia, walnut and fig bread, French toast, and cream bread. I couldn't tell the difference between natural yeast and artificial yeast at all! Everything tasted normal and good, but there wasn't anything particularly special about them. They were like the bread you find at a supermarket bakery. If it's in the neighborhood, I might go there, but I wouldn't make a special trip just for this place.

An Butter France -> A not too hard French bread. If you love this combination, you must buy it ♡ My taste buds have become picky, but it was quite delicious. I wonder if it would taste even better if eaten right after winning? Mushroom and asparagus bread (seasonal limited edition) -> This one was more delicious!

I had some business in Asagaya and stumbled upon this bakery. It's located a 3-minute walk from JR Asagaya Station, along Nakasugi Street. When I visited at 5:30 in the evening, they didn't have a wide variety of bread left. The breads I bought this time were:
- Walnut Danish (248 yen): A delicious pastry with sweet, crushed walnuts. A great choice for walnut lovers.
- Chocolate French (162 yen): A simple milk bread with chocolate inside. The chocolate itself was tasty and the price was very reasonable.
- Walnut and Fig Bread (280 yen): A bread with plenty of walnuts and figs. While fig breads can be hit or miss, this one was delicious and reasonably priced.
- Brown Rice Anpan (210 yen): Covered in sesame seeds, this bread was really tasty. I love natural yeast breads, and this one was not only delicious but also affordable.
I used to think that natural yeast breads were expensive, but this bakery, Koyaki-an, offers delicious bread at a reasonable price. Thank you for the meal.

It seems to be a famous shop that was also featured on TV. It's located a short walk from Asagaya Station, in a fairly easy-to-find location. The interior of the shop seems spacious with an eat-in space. The apple and yogurt Danish I bought had a delightful sweet and sour taste that I really enjoyed. The crunchy texture of the apple and the yogurt sauce complement each other well!

I arrived around 1 pm on a regular day, and there was one customer ahead of me who ordered a custard bun and a ham and cheese sandwich for takeout, costing around 700 yen. It was a reasonable price. I took the food home to eat. First, let's talk about the custard bun. It is a simple and honest bun with a modest sweetness. The custard cream inside is not overly sweet, which is good. The bread is fluffy, and when you bite into it, the bread expands in your mouth, which is nice. As for the ham and cheese sandwich, I personally really like this type of sandwich. It has a basic composition of lettuce, cheese, and ham, but each ingredient is substantial. The bread has a yeast-like flavor and is of good quality. The cheese and mayonnaise provide a rich contrast to the saltiness, especially with the generous amount of mayonnaise. Sometimes ham sandwiches can be too bland, but having a lot of ingredients makes it delicious. It may sound like a review from a child, but the flavors are not complicated, so it turned out this way. It's just simply delicious.

I bought morning bread at "Keyaki-an" in Asagaya. It's a bakery with natural yeast located near Ome Kaido on Nakasugi Street. I purchased An Butter France for 226 yen, Maple Toast for 140 yen, and Genmai Anpan for 216 yen. An Butter France is a French bread with butter and sweet bean paste inside. I warmed it in the microwave so the dough became soft and easy to eat without the butter melting out. The Maple Toast had maple syrup swirled inside the dough before baking. The Genmai Anpan had white sesame seeds densely sprinkled on top of the dough. The sweet bean paste had a hint of saltiness and was not overly sweet.

The area along the JR Chuo Line is known for its high-quality bakeries. When searching for bakeries with a rating of 3.5 or higher on Tabelog in the western area of Shinjuku along the Chuo Line, you will find 20 bakeries in the Nakano to Nishi-Ogikubo area, 8 in the Koganei, Kokubunji, and Kokuritsu area, and 11 in the Tachikawa and Hachioji area. This shows that the Chuo Line area has a concentration of excellent bakeries. The reviewer has visited many of these bakeries as part of completing the Tabelog Top 100 bakeries in Tokyo list. On this particular day, they visited a bakery in Asagaya, which is ranked 13th on Tabelog. The bakery specializes in using natural yeast in their bread, offering over 60 different types of bread made with two different types of yeast. The reviewer purchased three items from the bakery and found them to be slightly more expensive than average but appreciated the unique twists in the bread offerings. They enjoyed the bread the next morning for breakfast.

Local bakery with a cozy atmosphere offering a variety of hard, fluffy, and savory breads, as well as breads that kids would love.
- Natchy Orange Half (324 yen including tax): A bread with cream cheese, marmalade, and macadamia nuts. The combination is amazing! Creamy cheese with sweet and sour orange, and crunchy nuts. It's definitely delicious! The generous amount of cream cheese is also a plus!
- Double Berry (237 yen including tax): A chewy bread with sweet and sour berries. Cranberries and black currants, maybe?
- Sweet Potato Croissant (259 yen including tax): A fluffy and chewy bread with a slightly sweet and gentle flavor of sweet potatoes. While Natchy and Double Berry had generous fillings, the Sweet Potato Croissant had a bit less sweet potato. The natural yeast from Keyaki-an might give the bread a slightly unique texture or flavor, but it's hard to tell. Overall, the breads seem a bit dry, but when you actually eat them, they're not that dry. It's kind of mysterious.

A bakery located between JR Asagaya Station and Minami-Asagaya Station (Metro). I bought a "Tokyo Cream Pan" while out for a morning run. The outer layer is crispy cookie dough, and inside is custard cream. It's a sweet Tokyo Cream Pan with a crunchy exterior and creamy filling.

Men Saibo Goro always stops by when he goes to the left. The "Inaka Pan" at this restaurant is truly one-of-a-kind. It's not like Pain de Campagne. The crust of the bread is like a French bread, but both the crust and the white part inside are soft and fluffy. The wheat flavor is also rich. Perhaps it's due to the fermentation of the Tanzawa yeast. Thank you for the meal! Namaste!

A bakery in Asagaya that uses natural yeast. I visited late in the evening on a holiday, so there were only a few items left, but I was able to buy some interesting bread. - Crescent: The soft dough has a gentle sweetness typical of natural yeast. It's a croissant-shaped bread made with French bread dough. It's satisfying to eat. - Chocolate Franse: A chocolate-filled egg-shaped French bread. It didn't leak even when toasted, so I could warm it up with peace of mind. It may not look special, but it's delicious. - Apple Pie: I was really drawn to it. It looks like an old-style apple pie. The apples inside are crunchy and satisfying to eat, with a good balance of sourness and sweetness, and plenty of cinnamon! Delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Asagaya Station for some errands and decided to have an early lunch. I was considering the all-you-can-eat option but found out it was currently not available, so I ordered three different types of bread instead. I arrived at 11:00 am on a holiday and the place was not too crowded yet, so I could take my time choosing the bread. When I ordered a drink for dine-in, I got a 20% discount. The Black Olive bread (tax included 162 yen) had large black olives inside, giving it a rich olive aroma and a nice salty taste. The texture was chewy and satisfying despite its small size. The Croissant (tax included 205 yen) was huge and had a crispy, slightly firm texture with buttery richness in each layer. It would be perfect for breakfast! The Cream Bread (tax included 194 yen) was recommended by the staff and it had a generous amount of cream inside a soft bread. It was mildly sweet and easy to eat. The bread was soft and chewy, but the inside was slightly dry. All the bread was delicious and had good value for money. However, the cluttered kitchen and frequent visits from delivery workers may make it not very relaxing for a long stay. It may not be the best place for lingering...

Next to this bakery, there is also a space where you can eat in. They have a wide variety of breads and the customers were constantly coming in. We got some takeout items such as walnut cream cheese bread, mentaiko bread, cube-shaped red bean paste bread, and black olive bread. They were easy to eat and our family finished them in no time.

Good morning. This is beauty acupuncturist Kozue. The other day, when I went to Asagaya to eat shaved ice, I found a bakery called Keyaki-an and decided to stop by because I was intrigued by the sign saying "natural yeast". In addition to various side dishes, they also had baguettes, bread loaves, rusk, cookies, and more. Among them, there were various types of bread loaves. This time, I purchased three items:
- Black Olive Bread ($1.62): A crescent-shaped bread with black olives inside. The olive aroma and salty taste are strong, giving the bread a rich flavor.
- Edamame Rustic Bread ($2.05): Edamame and diced bacon are kneaded into the bread dough. The texture of the edamame and the aroma of the bacon are noticeable, and the cheese on the surface adds a crispy and savory touch.
- Brown Rice Bread (Half loaf) ($1.51): The softest bread among the three. Made with brown rice, the bread dough has a slightly brown color and is moist and delicious.
The prices are reasonable and I think it's a great deal. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Visited during the day, located near Asagaya Station or Minami-Asagaya Station. It has the appearance of a bakery. The service was average. The country bread (half) costs 270 yen. The dough has a rich flavor with a subtle saltiness. The retro croissant costs 205 yen and is decent. The Tokyo cream bread costs 248 yen and comes in a paper container. The sweetness of the dough and custard filling complement each other and taste delicious. The anko butter French costs 226 yen and has a flavorful dough with a good texture. Overall, all the bread has a rich flavor. I recommend everything except the croissant.

There are many cute breads such as "Three Little Pigs" bread, "Chocopanman", and mini melon bread in the shape of a turtle. They also have an eat-in option. I tried the "Three Little Pigs" bread, egg sandwich, teriyaki sandwich, and cream bread. All of them were delicious with a homemade touch.
