I arrived near Shin-Okubo Station for a tour of Asagaya and Koenji shrines. I walked south from Asagaya Station, so my legs were a bit tired. It was past 11 am and I was feeling hungry. I had been wanting to try Nanasumori in Shin-Okubo for a while, so I decided to have lunch there. I arrived at around 11:20 am and there were still some empty seats, but it was quite busy for this time. I ordered the omurice for 1,285 yen and the pudding and iced coffee set for 945 yen. The omurice came with salad and soup. It took about 30 minutes to arrive, but it was delicious. The egg was fragrant and fluffy, and the rice underneath was mixed with beef and bamboo shoots, not just ketchup rice. It was also delicious. They provided sansho pepper to sprinkle on the egg, which made it even tastier. The pudding was homemade and quite large. It can sell out on some days. Although a bit pricey, both dishes were very delicious and satisfying, so I rated it 4.3 stars.

Vegetable curry! It has crunchy daikon radish in it. I'll definitely add daikon when I make it next time. It also has pumpkin and sweet potato in it, which makes it very delicious. My friend had the daily special red curry, which was also delicious. It had lots of vegetables and chunks of chicken in it. The atmosphere of the cafe is great. Next time, I'll just use it as a cafe.

Koenji. A lovely café where you can relax in the middle of the day. I came here because a Hiroshima entertainer I'm close with loves this place. When I arrived, there were young people taking photos in front of the shop. I had a German roast coffee and a blueberry rare cheesecake. The rare cheesecake was not too sweet, with a texture similar to mousse or Bavarian cream, leaving a lingering and delicious taste. It felt nostalgic. I heard that even the great fan (still is) Kiyoshiro-san used to come here. It brings tears to my eyes.

I felt like strolling around Koenji and decided to visit a café for some delicious coffee. It was about a 10-minute walk from Shin-Koenji Station, and the café had a lovely atmosphere that reminded me of Studio Ghibli. I ordered an iced coffee and lunch on this hot day. The iced coffee was well-balanced with a nice aroma, and it felt like it was cleansing my liver from the wine I had the night before. The omurice was delicious, with a creamy omelette and flavorful beef fried rice. The keema curry had plenty of vegetables and a mild spiciness that was very tasty. I would love to visit this café again! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Banana cake set for 945 yen. I chose iced coffee. It's just right for taking a break. I've passed by here many times before but never had the courage to go in... This was my first time. I looked it up and thought maybe I should have gotten the pudding, but the banana pound cake came with 2 slices, so I feel like I got a good deal! Lol.

I visited the restaurant during lunchtime on a weekday in July. I had the A lunch set which was Hayashi rice. I believe the B lunch set was a pasta with shiso leaves and mentaiko. I wanted to try the hamburger from the regular menu, but they were out of stock... What a shame. I ordered a glass of white sangria as my drink. The café had a nice exterior and atmosphere. I also ordered a chocolate cake, which was delicious. I hope to try the hamburger next time I visit!

Custard pudding set for 945 yen (tax included). A popular retro cafe frequented by intellectuals, located in the nostalgic atmosphere of Showa era in Koenji. The antique interior gives off a cozy and welcoming vibe. It can get crowded around lunchtime, but it's usually quiet during opening hours even on weekends. The must-try item here is the famous custard pudding, which tends to sell out by mid-morning. Just looking at it makes you feel happy. The pudding has a strong egg flavor and a slightly bitter caramel, a classic taste that is satisfying. It's a large portion, so it's quite filling. The pudding used to be firmer, but now it's smooth and easy to eat. I've loved it since my student days, and it's still as delicious as ever, a timeless favorite. Many customers were also enjoying the signature omurice dish. Overall, a great dining experience! Don't miss out on trying the custard pudding, but be aware it might sell out quickly. It's fun to come early and enjoy a morning alone.

Banana juice was delicious! The service was quick. The calm atmosphere of the old folk house was lovely. The French toast was sweet and soothing for my tired body. The mint jelly was mildly sweet and had a refreshing taste. This time, the custard pudding was sold out so I will come back again! It was delicious.

A popular old-fashioned coffee shop located between Koenji Station and Shin-Koenji Station. I had bookmarked this place a long time ago and finally had the chance to visit. Even though it's been over 5 years since I bookmarked it, it still seems to be popular. When I visited on a holiday lunchtime, it was full, so I had to wait outside for a while. Eventually, I was seated and decided to order a light meal from the menu. I chose the Quiche Set for 1085 yen, which came with a drink. The quiche I had was made with mentaiko, shirasu, nori, new onion, and large perilla leaves. The tart crust was crispy and just the way I like it. The coffee was freshly brewed and served in a cute cup and saucer. I enjoyed the homemade feel of the quiche and the moderate saltiness. I might visit this area again soon, so I have a feeling I'll be back to try the spaghetti or curry next time, maybe asking for a smaller portion.

I visited the restaurant in the morning to read some work documents, but it didn't open right away. The door and the restaurant review site listed the opening hours as 10:30 to 23:00, but Instagram said 11:00 onwards, so I wasn't sure. It finally opened at 10:53, so I was unsure if it was early or late. I ordered an iced coffee and pudding, which tasted average. Since it was early in the morning and there were few customers, I was able to read my documents, which was good. However, it seems to get crowded in the afternoon and evening, so personally, I would recommend going in the morning. Thank you for the meal.

[Seven Forests] Tokyo: Located in Koenji, just a 2-minute walk from Koenji Station, this nostalgic cafe offers a retro atmosphere! The custard pudding set for around 1045 yen is delicious with the perfect firmness, rich egg flavor, and a caramel that even caramel haters will love. The pudding in a glass dish is cute and the absence of whipped cream allows you to fully enjoy the pudding's deliciousness. I chose the coffee with a strong bitterness and depth. The menu offers a variety of lunch and dinner options, making it a place I want to visit again! Easy for solo diners to enter.

▷Omelette Rice◀︎ Blend Soft American Omelette Rice is even more delicious than I imagined! The omelette is very buttery, and the egg part alone is really tasty. The rice has various ingredients mixed in, but it goes perfectly with the omelette without any conflict! The Japanese-style omelette rice is a must-try dish! The interior of the restaurant is a bit dim, but it has a calming old-fashioned atmosphere. I visited on a weekday evening and was able to get in without waiting in line.

The store is located about a 5-minute walk from Shin-Okubo Station and is filled with retro-style furniture, which is very stylish. The chairs are all different, which adds to the charm. It's a calm cafe where you can relax from lunch. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

A 5-minute walk from Shin-Koenji Station on the Tokyo Metro, or about 10 minutes from Koenji Station, you will find the well-established coffee shop "Coffee House Nanatsu Mori," founded in 1978. The sign reads "Teihei Ka Mori Tsu Shichi" in reverse reading. I visited in the evening this time, as last time I had to give up due to the long wait. The name "Nanatsu Mori" comes from a place called "Nanatsu Mori" mentioned in the poetry collection of Kenji Miyazawa, which refers to seven hills located south of the Koiwai Farm in Iwate Prefecture. It is said to be an untouched land beloved by Kenji Miyazawa. One of the places I would like to visit with great interest. The owl decorations, which are also motifs at the Kenji Miyazawa Memorial Hall, are unique. The owl on the outdoor sign is full of the world of picture books. Custard pudding set for 1045 yen (tax included) with coffee that is slightly sweetened. The custard pudding is firm and has a strong egg flavor. Lunch items like omurice and curry are also popular. Thank you for the meal ❤️

The interior of the shop was silent. The entrance door was open. Everyone was quietly chatting and enjoying themselves in the quiet space. The retro atmosphere was nice. I had omurice and strawberry mousse. A mini salad and soup came first. The buttery egg with various ingredients and firm rice go well together! It has a Japanese-style feel. The portion size is small. The strawberry mousse is also firm and has a nice aroma. Delicious! There were two lunch menu options for the day. I went during lunchtime on Monday and it was crowded, with several people being turned away. Amazing.

I finally visited a cafe that I had been wanting to visit for a long time, "Nanatsumori." This cafe was established in 1978 and is located in the Rokku shopping street that connects Koenji Station and Shin-Koenji Station. The retro atmosphere of this cafe is quite charming, with an owl illustration on the signboard and retro decorations throughout the interior. The menu offers a variety of drinks, homemade cakes, cold desserts, and food items. I ordered the "Custard Pudding Set" and my husband ordered the "Omurice Set" with strawberry juice. The custard pudding was served in a retro glass dish and had a rich flavor with a shiny caramel topping. The Omurice was beautifully cooked and topped with seaweed, with a flavorful rice and a fluffy omelette. We also enjoyed the German roast coffee and the refreshing strawberry juice. The prices of the menu items all end in "5 yen," and receiving the change with a ribbon-tied 5 yen coin is a special tradition of the cafe. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience in this retro cafe with delicious food and desserts.

Sevento Mori in Koenji is a cafe located in Koenji. [Strawberry Bavarois set]: 985 yen. I visited this cafe regularly and it was a long time since my last visit. This time, I ordered the Strawberry Bavarois and coffee set. I chose the German roast coffee. The Bavarois had a pulpy texture with bits of strawberries, and it was sweet and delicious. It reminded me of the strawberry Bavarois my grandmother used to make when I was a child. The cafe is located about a 10-minute walk from Koenji Station South Exit. It has an old-fashioned atmosphere with a charming vibe, such as the reversed letters in the shop's name "Sevento Mori" and the historical elements like the chairs, tables, and mosaic lamps inside. The cafe is loved by a wide range of customers, including older people and young couples. If you ever visit Koenji, be sure to check out this cafe. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

[Order Details] Earl Grey tea, baked cheesecake, Gâteau au Chocolat. The atmosphere inside the shop was stylish and calming. Both the cheesecake and Gâteau au Chocolat were made with the ideal taste and texture, truly embodying what café cakes should be like. It was a wonderful cafe filled with the ideal ambiance.

Yesterday, it snowed a little in Tokyo. I visited here a while ago, and although it didn't snow that day, it was very cold. I took a break in the warm shop and looked at the cake menu on the blackboard. I was intrigued by the "Domestic Lemon Gateau Chocolat" so I ordered it. The coffee of the day was "Mandarin." Soon, the cake was brought to me... Oh! The decoration is like Snow White, with the blue plate and powdered sugar resembling snow. It's a beautiful dish. The Gateau Chocolat was made with white chocolate, not dark, which was unusual. It wasn't too sweet and was incredibly delicious. The cream on top was topped with a jam-like domestic lemon marmalade, balancing the sweetness and acidity perfectly. Eating it together with the cake made it even more delicious. I would like to try to recreate this at home. I often visit this place, but this was the most delicious cake I've ever had here. I hope they make it a regular item. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived here looking for a late lunch and cafe, and luckily secured a seat at the back without having to wait. The surrounding area was mainly occupied by young couples on dates. I ordered the original chicken curry and charcoal roasted coffee from the lunch menu. The curry was very elaborate and authentic, making it a highly satisfying dish. The charcoal roasted coffee also had a deep flavor and a charming aroma, making it another excellent choice. Despite being far from the station, it is understandable why this place is popular and well-maintained. I would definitely like to visit again.
