I arrived near Shin-Okubo Station for a tour of Asagaya and Koenji shrines. I walked south from Asagaya Station, so my legs were a bit tired. It was past 11 am and I was feeling hungry. I had been wanting to try Nanasumori in Shin-Okubo for a while, so I decided to have lunch there. I arrived at around 11:20 am and there were still some empty seats, but it was quite busy for this time. I ordered the omurice for 1,285 yen and the pudding and iced coffee set for 945 yen. The omurice came with salad and soup. It took about 30 minutes to arrive, but it was delicious. The egg was fragrant and fluffy, and the rice underneath was mixed with beef and bamboo shoots, not just ketchup rice. It was also delicious. They provided sansho pepper to sprinkle on the egg, which made it even tastier. The pudding was homemade and quite large. It can sell out on some days. Although a bit pricey, both dishes were very delicious and satisfying, so I rated it 4.3 stars.

Vegetable curry! It has crunchy daikon radish in it. I'll definitely add daikon when I make it next time. It also has pumpkin and sweet potato in it, which makes it very delicious. My friend had the daily special red curry, which was also delicious. It had lots of vegetables and chunks of chicken in it. The atmosphere of the cafe is great. Next time, I'll just use it as a cafe.

Koenji. A lovely café where you can relax in the middle of the day. I came here because a Hiroshima entertainer I'm close with loves this place. When I arrived, there were young people taking photos in front of the shop. I had a German roast coffee and a blueberry rare cheesecake. The rare cheesecake was not too sweet, with a texture similar to mousse or Bavarian cream, leaving a lingering and delicious taste. It felt nostalgic. I heard that even the great fan (still is) Kiyoshiro-san used to come here. It brings tears to my eyes.

It was about a 10-minute walk from Shin-Koenji Station, and the café had a lovely atmosphere that reminded me of Studio Ghibli. I ordered an iced coffee and lunch on this hot day. The iced coffee was well-balanced with a nice aroma, and it felt like it was cleansing my liver from the wine I had the night before. The omurice was delicious, with a creamy omelette and flavorful beef fried rice. The keema curry had plenty of vegetables and a mild spiciness that was very tasty. I wanted to try the hamburger from the regular menu, but they were out of stock... What a shame. I ordered a glass of white sangria as my drink. The café had a nice exterior and atmosphere. Banana juice was delicious! The service was quick. The calm atmosphere of the old folk house was lovely. The French toast was sweet and soothing for my tired body. The mint jelly was mildly sweet and had a refreshing taste. This time, the custard pudding was sold out so I will come back again! It was delicious.

A popular old-fashioned coffee shop located between Koenji Station and Shin-Koenji Station. I had bookmarked this place a long time ago and finally had the chance to visit. Even though it's been over 5 years since I bookmarked it, it still seems to be popular. When I visited on a holiday lunchtime, it was full, so I had to wait outside for a while. Eventually, I was seated and decided to order a light meal from the menu. I chose the Quiche Set for 1085 yen, which came with a drink. The quiche I had was made with mentaiko, shirasu, nori, new onion, and large perilla leaves. The tart crust was crispy and just the way I like it. The coffee was freshly brewed and served in a cute cup and saucer. I enjoyed the homemade feel of the quiche and the moderate saltiness. I might visit this area again soon, so I have a feeling I'll be back to try the spaghetti or curry next time, maybe asking for a smaller portion.

The door and the restaurant review site listed the opening hours as 10:30 to 23:00, but Instagram said 11:00 onwards, so I wasn't sure. It finally opened at 10:53, so I was unsure if it was early or late. I ordered an iced coffee and pudding, which tasted average. Since it was early in the morning and there were few customers, I was able to read my documents, which was good. The interior of the restaurant is a bit dim, but it has a calming old-fashioned atmosphere. I visited on a weekday evening and was able to get in without waiting in line.

The name "Nanatsu Mori" comes from a place called "Nanatsu Mori" mentioned in the poetry collection of Kenji Miyazawa, which refers to seven hills located south of the Koiwai Farm in Iwate Prefecture. It is said to be an untouched land beloved by Kenji Miyazawa. One of the places I would like to visit with great interest. The owl decorations, which are also motifs at the Kenji Miyazawa Memorial Hall, are unique. The owl on the outdoor sign is full of the world of picture books. The prices of the menu items all end in "5 yen," and receiving the change with a ribbon-tied 5 yen coin is a special tradition of the cafe. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience in this retro cafe with delicious food and desserts.

Sevento Mori in Koenji is a cafe located in Koenji. [Strawberry Bavarois set]: 985 yen. I visited this cafe regularly and it was a long time since my last visit. This time, I ordered the Strawberry Bavarois and coffee set. I chose the German roast coffee. The Bavarois had a pulpy texture with bits of strawberries, and it was sweet and delicious. It reminded me of the strawberry Bavarois my grandmother used to make when I was a child. The cafe is located about a 10-minute walk from Koenji Station South Exit. It has an old-fashioned atmosphere with a charming vibe, such as the reversed letters in the shop's name "Sevento Mori" and the historical elements like the chairs, tables, and mosaic lamps inside. The cafe is loved by a wide range of customers, including older people and young couples. If you ever visit Koenji, be sure to check out this cafe. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

Yesterday, it snowed a little in Tokyo. I visited here a while ago, and although it didn't snow that day, it was very cold. I took a break in the warm shop and looked at the cake menu on the blackboard. I was intrigued by the "Domestic Lemon Gateau Chocolat" so I ordered it. The coffee of the day was "Mandarin." Soon, the cake was brought to me... Oh! The decoration is like Snow White, with the blue plate and powdered sugar resembling snow. It's a beautiful dish. The Gateau Chocolat was made with white chocolate, not dark, which was unusual. It wasn't too sweet and was incredibly delicious. The cream on top was topped with a jam-like domestic lemon marmalade, balancing the sweetness and acidity perfectly. Eating it together with the cake made it even more delicious. Despite being far from the station, it is understandable why this place is popular and well-maintained. I would definitely like to visit again.
