Simple menu with water dumplings as the main dish. The system is self-service where you count the number of dumplings with a small toy called "ohajiki," and when you reach 10, it turns into a marble. It was a very fun and delicious experience! The restaurant has 6 counter seats and 4 table seats, and there was one waitress serving. The water dumplings were perfectly sealed without any wrinkles, making them easy to eat. I heard that there are some who can eat up to 80 dumplings, but they are so easy to eat that I thought I could eat a lot too. The salad with perilla was refreshing. The tea was jasmine tea that opens up like a flower (served in a pot). It started out light and became stronger towards the end, which was amusing. I would be happy if they added more variety of teas and non-alcoholic beverages. Next time, I will try the shabu-shabu or other dishes! Thank you for the meal!

If you need more, just place your plate on the counter. I used to prefer pan-fried dumplings over water dumplings because I didn't really understand the appeal of water dumplings. But after trying the water dumplings here, I'm convinced! This place is probably going to become more and more popular, don't you think? They also had a wide selection of drinks...

In the adult town of Pontocho, the dumplings served in a quiet and stylish space are exquisite. It seems like you can have unlimited refills. The beautiful female owner seems to run the place alone and it seems to be quite popular. The other dishes besides the dumplings also seem to have a lot of attention to detail in their seasoning. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I visited a dog-friendly water dumpling restaurant in Ponto-cho for the second time. I thought the dumplings would go down easily... as I climbed the stairs, I found a counter. There were also tables in the back. It was late, so there were only a few dumplings left, but I ordered them. A beautiful woman seemed to be the owner. The atmosphere would make an old man happy. The dumplings were boiled in a big pot and served over the counter. They were light and easy to eat. The drinks were typical.

I was surprised that water dumplings were the main dish, but they were so delicious that I understood why they focus on them. The female owner has a lovely atmosphere and you can tell she loves cooking. With the delicious food and the owner's charm, I'm sure many customers become regulars, so it might be difficult to get a reservation in the future. Besides the water dumplings, they also have other dishes that are well thought out and tasty, and they offer a variety of rare sake brands, so it seems like a place suitable for various occasions. Personally, this is my top choice for a restaurant to visit again in Kyoto! I highly recommend it to everyone!

I had been curious about a dumpling specialty shop since it opened, but I couldn't go for a while. The simple, home-style dumplings exuded a certain elegance. The dumplings, boiled in a copper pot set at the same height as the counter, were scooped into a bowl without any waste. One scoop, two dumplings – just right! And the fun part was that with each scoop, you could turn one dumpling into a marble. With one marble, you get a free drink! It was easy to keep track of how many dumplings you had eaten, and there was a playful atmosphere. There were also nostalgic cookie cutters on the table, so you didn't have to worry about boiling time. The conversation with the landlady across the counter was enjoyable and satisfying.

Casual and cozy atmosphere with a friendly owner. The water dumplings were really delicious! I had plenty of refills and got lots of free marbles too, haha. The Nara pickles with cream cheese were also incredibly tasty. I will definitely come back!

In Kyoto, there is a rare specialty shop that serves water dumplings. In the center of the counter, there is a special pot where water dumplings are continuously made. If you place a plate on the counter, they will serve you two water dumplings, and you can keep getting more in a style called "wanko soba." At the table seats, you can make your own water dumplings using the pot placed on the table, which is also fun. It's also a great place to enjoy some drinks and snack on water dumplings!
