We used this restaurant for a family anniversary. I was looking for a nice restaurant that could be used for a special occasion, and I found this place through a search. The website looked lovely, so we decided to go here! Currently, the restaurant only operates on weekends. The lunch menu used to be around 5,000 yen, but now they only offer a unified course for 18,000 yen for both lunch and dinner. Drinks are not included. We made a reservation for the evening. The opening hours seem to change according to the sunset time. When we arrived by car, we had trouble finding the entrance to the restaurant. There were stylish buildings lined up, and we almost rang the doorbell of the owner's house, but the actual entrance to the restaurant was a bit further back. Once we stepped inside, it felt like being surrounded by nature in a Yamanashi resort. We could see a fire burning. The restaurant was in a modern natural building at the back, and they seemed to cook with firewood. We ordered drinks and watched them being made. The staff used herbs like shiso and mint they had picked to make soda-based drinks. We didn't drink alcohol since we drove, but they had a variety of natural wines available. The drinks were beautifully colored, and we enjoyed them while toasting mochi snacks (mochi mixed with wild plants) over an outdoor fire. It was a series of surprises from the start. We strolled through the garden and explored the grounds. As the sun set, dinner began. We could go outside whenever we wanted, which was nice. We were served crispy papadum-like crackers with a unique butter made with flowers and various ingredients. Then, we had grilled edamame with a sour cream-based sauce, grilled long eggplant, and grilled bamboo shoots, all surprisingly delicious. The fish dishes were also excellent, sourced from a local fisherman. We forgot the details, but there were two fish dishes that were very tasty. Next came the meat dish, made with beef from dairy cows that would usually be discarded. The meat was lean and firm, cooked to perfection. We forgot to take a photo after slicing it, but it was red and cooked just right. We enjoyed it with freshly ground pepper, natural salt, and ginger. Dessert was a boozy adult's savarin cake with cream and dried fruits, accompanied by a mini pool. We also ordered freshly ground coffee, which was delicious. The restaurant was almost full, with around 16 guests. The concept of the restaurant is coexisting with nature, being eco-friendly, and utilizing ingredients that would otherwise go to waste. It was a wonderful experience, and I felt a strong connection to their philosophy. While there are many stylish restaurants in the city, this kind of place is rare. It was a valuable and special dining experience, focusing on the quality of ingredients and creativity. The idea that natural foods are the most delicious was truly evident.
