It had been a while since our girls' night out ♡ Last week, I met up with my high school friends for a long-awaited girls' night out. We also celebrated the recent marriage of one of our friends. When we get together after a long time, the energy is amazing and the conversation never stops. It's so nice to have friends who you don't have to worry about. It was such a relief. We wished for the happiness of our friend and hoped that she would conceive soon. We compared our bellies - some of us were pregnant, some had already given birth, and some were getting closer to that age. Since it was a weekday, the restaurant was not crowded at all. We were seated on the second floor, almost like having the place to ourselves. We had a 3-hour girls' night out course, but before we knew it, we had gone over by 30 minutes. However, the staff didn't say anything and even saw us off without any unpleasant expressions. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with generous portions from appetizers to mains. The restaurant we went to was Datten in Gion, Kyoto. It's a cozy place, perfect for casual dates or girls' nights out. They also have a great selection of drinks for those who opt for the all-you-can-drink option. I would love to visit this restaurant again after giving birth.

It's been a while since I went to Datten. It was my first time going with my husband. On this day, we had sautéed duck, beef tongue (I forgot the rest), chicken tenderloin ajillo, assorted appetizers, anchovy potato, and Bismarck which were all delicious. The chicken tenderloin ajillo and anchovy potato are must-order items. And the gin and tonic made by Koutarou was so good, even though it had been a while since I had one!

On a regular day before 12 o'clock, the restaurant was empty with about 8 seats in a classy atmosphere. The BGM playing was a mix of J-pop and jazz, creating a relaxed ambiance. I had the risotto lunch set for ¥1430, which included braised turnips, garlic-flavored Brussels sprouts, spinach soup, watercress salad, and focaccia. The Brussels sprouts were delicious without any bitterness, and the salad with Caesar dressing and red peppers was a nice combination. The Gorgonzola and porcini risotto had a great aroma when served, with diced porcini and spinach as ingredients. The rice was slightly firm with distinct grains, creating a contrast with the creamy cheese. They accept credit cards, and the bar-like atmosphere gave it a hidden gem vibe. If the quality of the appetizers improves a bit, it would be a great value for money.

I ended up here as a lunch refugee. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish, and it seems like there are many counter bars in Kyoto. The designer of the restaurant did a great job. Even drinking water in a wine glass makes you feel stylish. In terms of lunch, the cost performance is not great as the portions are small, and the hamburger leaves you wanting more with just rice. However, each dish is carefully crafted with attention to detail. If you're looking for a fancy lunch around 2,000 yen, compared to Italian or Western food in Ginza, the cost performance may not be as good. But I think the atmosphere is great for drinking at night, and since the restaurant has high ratings, I would like to visit with a few friends when I'm in Kyoto at night. Thank you for the meal.

The atmosphere was calm inside the restaurant, and we were guided to the second floor. There were several lunch menus available, and since I was quite hungry, I added a glass of wine and chose the meat course. The portion was smaller than expected, so I didn't feel full, even after having dessert and coffee.

I finally got a reservation and was able to go. The restaurant had a luxurious atmosphere and I was nervous, but the staff were friendly which was nice. The pasta was surprisingly thin noodles, and the taste was something I had never tried before. If the menu has items you like, I think it would suit your taste.

Late night Italian dining with a bit of drinking! The Yoro pork ham was delicious with a strong meaty flavor, followed by a creamy bagna cauda, and a pasta dish with asparagus and seafood. The Italian cuisine was rich and satisfying, paired perfectly with highballs, white wine, and Sicilian flavors. It was all so delicious! Definitely not something to have every night, but tonight was a treat. Thanks for the meal! It was delicious!

I had Italian food and some drinks at a late hour! The Yoro pork ham was delicious with a rich meaty flavor. I also had bagna cauda, asparagus and seafood pasta, which were all hearty Italian dishes. I paired them with highball, white wine, and Sicilian wine. It was so delicious! Can't have this every night, but it was a feast today. Thank you for the meal! It was delicious!

Lunch at an Italian bar located just 100m southeast of Kyoto Minami-za. Today, I have to work on a Saturday due to a meeting with a new client in Gion. I arrived a bit early and happened to find this place while looking for lunch. The restaurant has a very chic and stylish interior with a counter for 8 on the first floor and table seating on the second floor. The young master, who seems to be the owner, greets you like a bartender, making you feel very welcome with his friendly and enjoyable conversation. The customers at the table on the second floor were having such a great time that laughter filled the air. The background music was a relaxing jazz piano trio. During lunchtime, they offer a lunch set where you can choose from 5 main dishes, each served with salad, 2 appetizers, and soup. Homemade focaccia bread is also included. Today, I tried the "Herb Breaded Chicken Thigh" lunch set for 1,000 yen (tax included). First, a plate with soup and salad was brought to the table. The warm potato potage soup had a refreshing and gentle taste, while the salad was mainly made of watercress with French dressing. Next, two appetizers were served. The first was Mortadella sausage with pistachios, which was thick, spicy, and delicious. The second was a frittata with zucchini, which had a light taste and texture. The focaccia bread was crispy and tasty, though a bit small. The main dish of herb breaded chicken thigh was cooked to perfection, juicy, and flavorful. Overall, it was a leisurely lunch experience. Not recommended for those with limited time, but I had plenty of time and enjoyed the meticulous cooking and attentive service. After settling the bill, the master even walked me outside and when I mentioned that I was planning to go to the nearby inari sushi shop called Tsuri Kitsune, he kindly warned me about the rich broth in their inari sushi, saying I might "drown" in it. I thanked him and left the restaurant feeling impressed by the excellent service. It was a delightful experience from start to finish. Highly recommended! 2022.1.22

I have been to this restaurant many times, but I usually go for dinner, so this time I went for lunch. I had the hamburger that is usually served at night. It was so delicious that I am at a loss for words. I have been busy lately and haven't been able to go, but I have been craving their hamburger for a long time. Datten's hamburger is definitely the best compared to any other place! I will definitely go back for both lunch and dinner!

I entered at 22:30 on a regular Thursday. Today, I will end my day here again! I tried the recommended "Foie Gras Terrine" and it was amazing! It was so delicious, I wish I had discovered it sooner. I wonder if it's not on the regular menu? I would like to visit again just to have this. Thank you for the meal.

The food was very delicious, the prices were reasonable, and there is nothing to complain about. I really enjoyed the meal. The pizza was also amazing. However, the second floor has a bar-like atmosphere and is dark, so I think some improvements are needed. Smoking also ruins the delicious food, so I believe having a smoking and non-smoking section would be best.

The garlic shrimp was delicious!
