After enjoying the second part of Kabuki at the Kabuki-za for the first time in about a month on a Sunday, we indulged in parfaits at Tsukizuki-do on the 5th floor with three people. We chose to sit by the window this time because we wanted to see the Japanese garden. We were initially the fourth in line when we wrote our names on the waiting list, but we were called into the restaurant after about 10 minutes while enjoying shopping. We were lucky to get seats by the window this time. The view of the lush Japanese garden on the rooftop of the building was so soothing. We all decided to order the rich matcha parfait with hojicha for 1,500 yen including tax. It was made with high-grade matcha soft serve ice cream, slightly bitter matcha syrup, high-quality sweet red bean paste, and matcha agar jelly. The parfait arrived in about 10 minutes, and the matcha soft serve was indeed rich and delicious. The agar jelly and shiratama were soft, and the crunchy texture at the bottom added variety. The combination with hojicha was perfect, and we were all very satisfied with the matcha parfait. We also bought "Saga no Uzumi" seaweed from Saga Prefecture in Kyushu for 680 yen including tax as a souvenir. The seaweed had a sweet flavor and was very delicious. Tsukizuki-do is actually run by Maruyama Nori, and the seaweed was of high quality. We also received a 100 yen discount coupon for dining at Tsukizuki-do, which we used for the seaweed purchase. Tsukizuki-do is highly recommended for enjoying delicious sweets after watching Kabuki.

Higashi Ginza is located above the Kabuki-za building. The interior of the restaurant features modern bamboo work designed by Kengo Kuma. Before entering the restaurant, you will be greeted by a spacious Japanese garden with lush greenery that you wouldn't expect to find in the heart of the city. If you have a good seat, you can enjoy Japanese sweets in the tea room while admiring this garden. This time, I ordered the "Chestnut Matcha Mont Blanc" as I wanted to enjoy the taste of autumn in advance. The matcha flavor was rich and just a little taste filled my mouth with its aroma. My girlfriend also ordered the same menu and she was very satisfied! It may be a seasonal menu, but if you have the chance, why not give it a try?

It was the best tea house! The atmosphere and tea were both very delicious with attention to detail. The view of the courtyard was also amazing! I visited around 13:00 to 14:30 on a weekday. It seems like a hidden gem. For dessert, you can choose from carefully selected teas, black teas, and coffees, which I thought was wonderful. They also offered a tasting of Japanese tea, which was very delicious. I would love to visit again.

Tea time at Jukkodo on the 5th floor of Kabukiza Tower ^ ^ Designed by Kengo Kuma. The interior of the shop is beautifully layered with overlapping bamboo lines, and the location facing the rooftop garden offers a space where you can feel the greenery and tranquility while in the city. I have visited here 2 or 3 times, but it is usually crowded after watching Kabuki, so I often use it when I am in Higashi Ginza for other reasons. The dessert menu features a lineup using plenty of homemade matcha. From éclairs to Basque cheesecake, parfaits, everything looks delicious and it's hard to choose~ After much deliberation, I tried the rich Mont Blanc on this day. The matcha flavor is strong and delicious꒰ ♡´∀`♡ ꒱ I was able to sit at a window seat facing the garden, so I was able to relax while enjoying the view♡ By the way, the seats around me were mostly occupied by foreigners, all enjoying Japanese tea~ There is also a souvenir corner, so it's a good idea to buy Kabukiza limited products such as tea, nori, and sweets as souvenirs.

★ 4.2 [FILE 2004] August 21, 2023 (Monday) 12:17 Visit This is a Japanese tea cafe that opened in April 2013 on the 5th floor of the Kabuki-za Tower along Showa Street in Ginza. As of May 2023, there are still 22 stores without any new openings or closures. The weather was perfect, so I visited for the third time in 10 days, moving from the Restaurant Sakaki. The interior of the cafe is characterized by wood and black tones, with a glass facade that offers a refreshing view of the rooftop garden. There are 28 seats in total, with private tables at the front and back, as well as tables along the windows. As it was a day when Kabuki-za was not performing, there was no queue, and I was quickly seated at a table with a view of the rooftop garden. There were only 5 customers, with 80% being women and 20% men. The service was provided by two female staff members who were very polite. The menu includes items like Matcha Affogato, Matcha Summer Ice, Matcha and Genmai Eclair, Matcha and Raspberry Mille-feuille, Rich French Toast, Matcha Cream Shiratama Zenzai, Rich Matcha Parfait, and Basque-style Matcha Cheesecake Set. I ordered the Matcha Summer Ice for 1600 yen. It was served 10 minutes after ordering and included Houjicha, cold-brewed green tea, and Matcha Summer Ice. The Houjicha was served as a side. The shaved ice dessert contained Shiratama and Azuki beans with plenty of Matcha syrup made from Nakajima farming method Matcha, and a separate serving of Date palm syrup. The fluffy shaved ice with the slightly bitter Matcha syrup was delicious. As you eat, the Shiratama and Azuki beans add a nice touch, and the Date palm syrup provides a sweet variation. The cafe's atmosphere is airy and open, with a view of the rooftop garden through the glass facade. Since it was a clear day, I was able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the view of the rooftop garden without any queues due to the Kabuki-za being closed. The recent closed days for Kabuki-za were August 14th (Monday) and 21st (Monday), September 11th (Monday) and 19th (Tuesday), and October 10th (Tuesday) and 17th (Tuesday) in 2023. Credit card payment was accepted. The Matcha Summer Ice for 1600 yen allows you to enjoy the slightly bitter Matcha syrup from Nakajima farming method and the sweet Date palm syrup, making it delicious.

★3.5 [FILE 2004] 2023/08/11 (Friday) 13:57 Visited a Japanese tea cafe that opened in April 2013 on the 5th floor of the Kabuki-za Tower along the Showa Street in Ginza. [Repeat Edition] This is a repeat visit to the store. I revisited after 8 years and 9 months. The interior of the cafe is characterized by wood and black tones, with a spacious feel thanks to the all-glass walls offering views of the sky garden. There are 28 seats in total, with 2 private tables in the front, 4 private tables in the back overlooking the sky garden, 3 tables with 4 seats each in the front, 3 tables with 2 seats each along the window, and 1 table with 4 seats. When I arrived at 13:57, the cafe was already full with a line of 8 people waiting. After waiting for a while, I noticed that they were calling out the names of people in line, indicating a name-based reservation system. By the time I wrote down my name, I was 10th in line. I was finally seated at 14:35, 38 minutes later. The customer base consisted of 80% women and 20% men. The service was efficiently handled by 1 male staff member and 2 female staff members. The menu includes Matcha and Raspberry Mille-feuille for 1650 yen (tax included) with Japanese black tea or coffee, Rich French Toast for 1600 yen (tax included) with coffee or cold-brewed green tea, Matcha and Genmai Eclair for 1680 yen (tax included) with light tea, Matcha Summer Ice for 1600 yen (tax included) with hojicha, and Basque-style Matcha Cheesecake Set for 1650 yen (tax included) with Japanese black tea or matsuri tea. I ordered the Matcha and Raspberry Mille-feuille for 1650 yen. It was served 7 minutes after ordering and consisted of Red Fruit Ripe Coffee and Matcha and Raspberry Mille-feuille. The coffee was made from red ripe fruits grown in the Brazil Saca...

This is a traditional tea and nori shop located on the top of the Kabuki-za Tower, where you can enjoy sweet treats while overlooking the hustle and bustle of Ginza below. There is also a rooftop garden where you can admire the view of the Kabuki-za theater before entering the shop. The tea is delicious and there are various creatively crafted menu items to choose from. The matcha Mont Blanc is especially rich and tasty.

Matcha Basque cheesecake set ordered. The cake was mildly sweet with a light cheese type. The matcha aroma was strong and delicious. In addition to the set tea, they also offered 2-3 types of one-bite size for tasting. The staff explained them in detail, so you can enjoy while gaining knowledge. Perfect for a post-Tsukiji food tour.

I visited this stylish Japanese teahouse a little before 3 pm on a weekday. Perhaps due to the reasonable price and location, there was zero wait time, even in Ginza! You can access the teahouse from the office entrance on the first floor or from the Kabuki-za souvenir area "Kihachicho Plaza" directly connected to Higashi-Ginza Station. The latter entrance might be more convenient. The clientele consisted mostly of elegant ladies dressed in beautiful fashion. Since it was just before the afternoon Kabuki show, it was not crowded, and I was seated promptly. I ordered the Matcha and Genmaicha Eclair set for ¥1,680, which came with a matcha eclair and genmaicha tea. The eclair was a cute size, so I wanted to pick it up with my hands, but I used the knife and fork politely. The eclair was filled with plenty of cream, which had a rich matcha aroma. The genmaicha puff on top added a crisp and refreshing fragrance. The balance between the rich matcha and the refreshing genmaicha was exquisite, making it a delightful treat. However, my eating technique was terrible, and I made a mess on the plate. Despite feeling a bit overwhelmed by the atmosphere, I enjoyed the lovely space and delicious sweets. I would definitely visit again when I want to take a break in this area. Summary: You can easily visit if you choose the right time. Eating an eclair elegantly is challenging. I want to become a stylish lady too.

I had been looking forward to visiting this place even before the new Kabuki-za opened. I finally made it here before going to see the 10th anniversary performance of "July Kabuki" at Kabuki-za. The counter seats were available, but I preferred a seat with a view of the garden, so I put my name on the waiting list and waited a bit. It's nice that you can specify your preferred seat type. While looking at the tea and sweets, they offered me a taste of cold brewed tea, which was a nice service. The retail area and eat-in area are decorated with many bamboo trees (3000 in total), creating a cool and stylish atmosphere. The seat I was shown to was by the window, with red leaves in front and a weeping cherry tree in the background. I ordered the following: Matcha and Genmaicha Eclair with Coffee for 1680 yen. It seemed like a menu item from a French patisserie week. The set drink was matcha, but I was able to change it to coffee or black tea, so I chose iced coffee. The eclair had plenty of matcha cream inside, with matcha chocolate at the bottom, matcha cream on top, and organic genmaicha tea on top. The rich and smooth matcha cream was delicious, and I almost regretted not choosing matcha for the drink. The genmaicha tea added a nice texture. The blueberries and raspberries on the side were a bit too sweet. The coffee had a slightly strong acidity, but it was a clean taste and I enjoyed it straight. The staff were friendly and laid-back, making it a stress-free experience. They also offer light meals, so I would like to visit again.

I came to cool off at 2:30 on a hot day when I was thirsty. I was considering Japanese tea when the staff approached me and explained the menu. I chose a set of tea with the shop's name on it and a steamed bun. The tea was well-balanced as described. It can be refilled, so I could enjoy the tea slowly. My husband had shaved ice with a strong matcha bitterness. It was my first time visiting Kabuki-za, and there are shops and galleries to explore, making it a relaxing place to spend time. I would like to see a Kabuki performance next time.

On the 5th floor of a building next to the rooftop garden of the Kabuki-za theater, there is a store at the Tsukiji main store, which has a shop and a cafe. It was my first visit, and I had checked the menu two days prior when passing by the main store in Tsukiji. The main store seemed simple, but this place had a variety of options. The staff kindly guided me to a stylish and modern cafe counter seat, instructing me to place my belongings at the back table. The counter also served as a place to make tea and was visually appealing with slightly dim lighting. The menu and cold water were served. The food menu had more options than the one displayed in the aisle, making it enjoyable to choose. There were also desserts on the drink menu. I decided to go with the sandwich set that caught my eye earlier. It was like a mini afternoon tea set with cold tea, but they also offered hot hojicha tea. The sandwich set was served in about 10 minutes, and the cold corn soup was a refreshing start. The sandwiches were egg, seafood, hanpen and mentaiko, and tuna and avocado. The hanpen was soft and fresh, while the mentaiko had a gentle flavor. The tuna and avocado had a hint of wasabi, complementing the seaweed. The egg sandwiches were large, and the bread was slightly dry. The pickles provided a refreshing crunch. The hojicha tea had a good aroma and a slightly bitter taste. After finishing the meal, the dessert and a refill of hojicha tea were brought. The dessert was a matcha terrine with chestnut and lemon peel, providing a unique flavor. I also tried a sample of the new tea, which had a slight bitterness but was overall light and refreshing. I received a 100 yen discount coupon for the store and purchased a tea bag set for 540 yen. The staff recommended signing up for membership, which I did as I plan to return. They also offered another tea tasting, and I was impressed by their hospitality and beautiful smiles. The staff spoke fluent English and were attentive to all customers, especially those from overseas. The cafe was bustling with foreign customers, and the food set prices were reasonable. Overall, it was a delightful experience with delicious food and excellent service.

I visited after 3 pm and was seated immediately without having to wait in line. I chose a set with matcha and Japanese sweets because I was craving them. My friend had matcha ice cream with matcha sauce. It was delicious. After we finished eating, they served us a new type of tea. The only downside was that it was a bit pricey, maybe because of the location and atmosphere. It was a calm and adult-like space.

On the 5th floor of the Kabuki-za Tower, there is a rooftop garden designed by Kengo Kuma where you can enjoy tea while overlooking it. The Maruyama Nori store, established in 1854, started a Japanese tea specialty store called "Juzukudou Ginza Kabuki-za store". I went to the Maruyama Nori store in Tsukuba for the second time out of curiosity about the building. It was crowded, so I waited for about 15 minutes before being seated at the counter. For dinner, I ordered a sandwich and tea soba. They also have matcha sweets, matcha pasta, and sandwiches on the menu. If you make a reservation in advance, you can also experience tea ceremony. I happened to ride the elevator with the Terajima Shino couple, and when I lightly nodded, they smiled warmly. She is an actress who gives off a refreshing and determined vibe. In the world of kabuki, there are those who worry about the future and those who are ready to soar. It was a mix of emotions.

I arrived here not after watching Kabuki, but because I wanted to quietly enjoy some sweets. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was polite, truly living up to being a shop inside the Kabuki-za. I was indecisive but ended up choosing the matcha parfait, which was not too sweet and really delicious. The tea they served in the middle was surprisingly tasty, so I bought some as a souvenir.

This is a tea house located inside the tower of Kabukiza Theater. There is a cafe at the back, and you can relax relatively quietly in Kabukiza Theater. It is a hidden gem. There is also a garden on the floor, so how about a little stroll and breathe in the outside air? There is tea available, and there is also a wide variety of tea utensils.

I visited "Juzukido Ginza Kabukiza Store" located in the lively theater district of Higashi Ginza. The access is a 3-minute walk from Higashi Ginza Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, on the 5th floor of the Kabukiza Tower. The interior of the store is a stylish space with plenty of bamboo. From the large window-side seats, you can enjoy a view of the Japanese garden while having a break. Designed by architect Kengo Kuma, the store opened in April 2013 on the floors above the Kabukiza Theater. In addition to Kabukiza souvenirs, you can also purchase tea, seaweed, sweets, and more. Today, I tried the following menu items: - Josenka (Hanakurenai): A beautifully shaped artistic confection with a soft color. The smooth texture of this confection is elegant with a mild sweetness. - Matcha confection: Matcha goes very well with this. Light meals are also available. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

A Japanese tea specialty shop facing the rooftop garden of Kabuki-za. It is common to visit here after watching Kabuki performances, and enjoying elegant sweets in a sophisticated space provides the perfect setting to savor the lingering memories before and after the show. The design of this shop was done by Kengo Kuma. The space covered with 3,000 bamboo trees overlooking the rooftop garden of Kabuki-za is truly a world of Zen. By layering bamboo of different densities multiple times, it creates a bamboo forest-like space that softly connects Kabuki-za and the garden. They offer homemade sweets using plenty of matcha, exquisite nori seaweed sandwiches, pasta, and other light meals at the counter and terrace seats. The raspberry mille-feuille I had that day was delicious with its perfect blend of matcha. Not too sweet, with a good bitterness, it was exquisite and satisfying for adults. Other items on the menu include matcha soft serve ice cream, matcha agar jelly, granola, and red bean paste. I want to try them all.

Here is the translation of the restaurant review: "Connected to the Kabuki-za theater and the station, I finally visited Chosudo, a place I had been wanting to go for a long time. It exudes elegance and charm. Enjoying fragrant green tea while gazing at the Japanese garden. The clientele includes sophisticated ladies dining alone and foreign women. It's a restaurant favored by mature women. I ordered the matcha basque cheesecake set. With the first bite, the aroma of matcha fills your mouth. And it is rich and satisfying!! I had a delightful tea time. Thank you for the meal."

I bought this for the intermission of a play. The American sandwich was sold out, so I came here feeling very down. The cheerful staff said, "There were only two left," and wrapped it up brightly. It lifted my spirits. It was easy to eat with one bite and had a refined taste with ingredients like avocado, shrimp, and Maruyama Nori's "Kontobi." My companion was also pleased. Thank you very much.

It was very crowded on Saturday afternoon. You could enjoy the view of the rooftop garden from the large windows while indulging in sweets. There were many dessert options like parfaits, ozenzai, and Mont Blanc, making it hard to choose. In the end, I went with the Mont Blanc. It was a matcha Mont Blanc, so it had a hint of bitterness from the matcha, making it not too sweet. I also had hojicha with the sweets. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
