I finally visited a cafe called "Coffee Aroma" that I had been curious about for a long time. It is located in a narrow alley near Asakusa Rox. At first glance, it seemed a bit intimidating for first-time visitors, so I had hesitated to go in. When the place is crowded, it seems like there are many regular customers, and when it's empty, I wonder if it would be awkward to have a one-on-one conversation with the master... (laughs) Finally, I mustered up the courage to visit this time. It was around 4:30 PM and the place seemed a bit empty. There were four women as the only other customers. It's a small cafe with only counter seats. The handwritten menu adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. Instead of the master I had seen before, a lady (maybe the owner?) was handling everything by herself. I ordered a Blend Coffee for 350 yen and an Onion Toast for 280 yen. "It will take a little while..." she said, but of course, that was fine with me. Only empty cups were set in front of us. While waiting, I looked around and noticed many posters on the walls. Upon closer inspection, 90% of them were announcements for solo rakugo performances. Come to think of it, I once saw a rakugo performer taking a break here. This cafe may have connections with traditional Japanese performers. The wall calendar was from the Manzai Association. It's quite humorous but too deep for most people to understand, right? The TV was showing a rerun of the 1996 morning drama "Himawari" starring Nanako Matsushima on NHK. While the drama was still in the Heisei era, the atmosphere inside the cafe was more like the Showa era. The coffee was served around 10 minutes later. The coffee was poured into the empty cup, and milk was served in a small separate container. It had a hint of bitterness but a smooth and refreshing taste. The Onion Toast, with onions and pickles sandwiched in between, was a unique and distinctive item. The spiciness was balanced out by the acidity, creating a harmonious flavor. Among the many cafes in Asakusa, this place stands out as uniquely charming.

Three friends went to Aroma in Tahara-cho. We had been talking about going to Aroma for a while, so we finally made it! Today, many regular customers are coming in one after another. The husband is taking a break today, so the wife is handling customer service and the kitchen. Our orders were as follows: - Fresh strawberry juice for 400 yen - Ham toast for 280 yen Our friends' orders were: - Fresh strawberry juice for 400 yen - Cheese toast for 130 yen - Fresh banana juice for 400 yen - Jam toast for 130 yen Normally, we order apricot juice and onion toast, but this time we tried something different. There was a small mishap when our friends' plates arrived with butter toast and jam toast neatly arranged in four pieces. Our friends were happy to try something new, but the cheese toast that one of them ordered didn't arrive. The wife had forgotten about it, even though she had written it down on paper and prepared the bread. At first, we suggested putting cheese on the butter toast, but our friend had already eaten it and laughed it off. The butter toast was complimentary in the end. The fresh strawberry juice made by the wife, using crushed ice from a box and a blender, was amazing. The ham toast, made with Pelican bread and a hint of mustard, was delicious. The retro atmosphere was perfect for a great time spent with friends. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I decided to start my morning with an "aroma" at a small coffee shop in Asakusa after a long time. The owner, who I think is well over 80 years old, runs the shop alone. Despite his age, he is energetic. The pace of work is leisurely, creating a relaxed and happy atmosphere. A lovely shop. There is a sign that says "Onion toast is not available for takeout" in a prominent place. The use of the phrase "is not available" is charming. It is a popular item because it is delicious, but due to its delicate nature, it is best to eat it in the shop. I ordered the onion toast and a blend coffee to go with it. The owner poured hot water into the coffee cup to warm it up, and put the bread in the toaster and pressed the switch. The pitcher of milk for coffee on the counter is surrounded by ice to keep it cold. A nostalgic touch, I smile warmly. The smell of the toasting bread fills the air. The sound of spreading butter on the toast is heard, and the aroma of the coffee follows. The hot coffee is poured into the cup, which is thick and heavy. The coffee stays hot thanks to the good heat retention. I sip the hot coffee slowly, enjoying the rich aroma. My eyes open wide. The toast is placed on a paper napkin. It is perfectly toasted and rested before being served to release the steam, so the napkin stays dry. The toast is filled with raw onions and thinly sliced pickles, with just butter spread on it. Despite the simple ingredients, it has a rich flavor. The spiciness, umami, and acidity mix with the sweetness of the toast to create a harmonious taste. All the necessary elements for a delicious dish are present. It's delicious but not overly so. It's a perfect breakfast that you can enjoy without getting tired of it. Eating slowly and savoring the moment, I waste my morning time happily and leisurely.

This is a small café run by a kind master and mama, with a counter-style setup and no table seating. I ordered an onion toast made with Pelican bread and an iced coffee. The apricot juice has a thick texture and is delicious, perfect for gulping down on a hot day. It's a popular spot for regular customers. The coffee is delicious, and the atmosphere is reminiscent of the old town. Asakusa has many long-established cafés, each with its own unique charm, making café hopping a fun experience.

Toast (Pelican's white bread) for 110 yen, that's amazing. Pricing is about balancing the following three things: 1. Actual market price 2. Customer satisfaction 3. Sustainability. Especially in the case of 3, you can see the pride of the owner. I once asked the owner about the reason for setting that price. He said, "For the customers who come here regularly..." I remember the "regular customers" near my parents' house. They were always there, even on rainy days, and quickly paid when the shop got busy. It seemed like they didn't like disruptions to their usual pace. But... if you truly love the shop, love includes thoughtful gestures. The shop didn't treat them specially in front of other customers, but you could tell they were cherished in some way. The price of this toast seems to reflect that indirect sentiment. Returning to the shop, I visited in the late morning after the regular customers had left, and I also took advantage of that price. Thank you for the day. - Blend Coffee 350 yen - Hot Dog 280 yen - Cash Only

After finishing my errands, I decided to take a break before heading out. It was midday on a weekday when I pushed open the automatic door and entered the restaurant. Inside, there were eight customers, including what seemed to be the most famous restaurant owner in Asakusa. I felt like a complete outsider as I walked in. I ordered an iced coffee (370 yen) from the friendly master and quietly enjoyed it while checking my schedule for the rest of the day. The atmosphere at Aroma that day was a bit unclear, whether it was welcoming or not, but the master was kind to both regulars and non-regulars.

Weekdays around 8am. Can be seated right away. ★Onion Toast / 280 yen ★Blend Coffee / 350 yen The bread is Pelican's square bread. The toast is spread with "mustard mayonnaise" and filled with "onion pickles". The fox-colored toast is crispy and fluffy. The flavor of onions and the crunchiness, along with the acidity of the pickles, create an interesting taste. It's a popular menu item to pair with the blend coffee. This coffee is irresistibly delicious.

After eating beef stew in Asakusa, I had a smoke at Aroma. I chatted with regulars and the master about legal marijuana. The toast from Pelican is still delicious as always. The blend is 350 yen. The jam and peanut butter sandwich for 260 yen is a fair price. Tourists and regulars are treated equally. Don't force your way in when it's crowded, but take the chance when it's empty! I hope this healing place in Asakusa lasts a long time. Thank you for the meal.

Strolling around Asakusa. I had some free time so I decided to check it out. It's a shop with counter seats. I ordered the famous onion toast. The toast was crispy, topped with slices of raw onion and pickles. The spiciness of the onion combined with the acidity and sweetness of the pickles left a strong impression. I reset my palate with an iced coffee and went back to the toast. This loop is irresistible. Regular customers are chatting with the master about Asakusa entertainment. It seems like an in-depth conversation about Asakusa entertainment. I wish I could have such conversations too. There are many other appealing light snacks and drinks, so I'll have to come back again. Thank you for the meal. I'll be back again.

Sales are only on weekdays. I am someone who is busy on weekdays, but finally found the time to visit! My main target was the apricot juice. The onion toast is made with Pelican's 2-pound bread, so it's not too big but quite reasonable. It's filled with raw onions (!), cucumber pickles, mustard, and sandwich spread. The spicy adult toast sandwich is a taste that makes me want to try to imitate it at home. The raw apricot juice is made from frozen apricots, so it's more like a frappuccino than juice. It has a smooth texture and was delicious, but it seems like it would be even better to drink in slightly warmer weather. The interior of the shop is a U-shaped counter. The back half is filled with regular customers, while the front half is for other customers. There is a comfortable atmosphere where you can be left alone to enjoy your time, without feeling out of place.

I escaped from the maze and headed to Asakusa, aiming for the famous "Brazil" at "Sandwich" which is known for its sandwiches. However, when I arrived, it was just before closing time. I ended up going to "Aroma" where my friend was waiting. It was my first time at this place, and inside, I saw the owner couple, "Fujimori Jinichi Oyakata" and his wife. Among the customers, there was a person who seemed to be a prominent figure in the rakugo world, according to later research. The atmosphere of the tea shop, "Unrakugetsu Kame", was covered by the posters of storytellers on the walls. I was so overwhelmed by the grandeur and uniqueness that I forgot to order my coffee and cream, and instead, I was absorbed in the "time and space" of the place. When I came back to reality, my cream and coffee were already finished. In front of me was a rare "cream" bowl. The coffee cost only 350 yen, which was surprisingly cheap. In the vicinity of Asakusa and Kinshicho, there are still such old-fashioned coffee shops. The shop was established in 1964, and the owner, "Fujimori Jinichi Oyakata", was born in 1943. The conversation turned to "H家K平" and then to "H家S藏", and it was agreed by everyone present that "H家S平" was too burdensome. It was believed that "Yzaki Hya" was the reincarnation of the previous generation.

On this day, I wanted to go to UNIQLO Asakusa from the opening time, so I wandered around the area and stayed there waiting for the store to open. What I had: - Blend coffee for 350 yen - Onion toast for 280 yen I ordered the onion toast out of curiosity, as it was a single item and simple. It turned out to be a hidden gem! The combination of raw onions, pickles, and Pelican toast was exquisite and delicious. It was a lucky find. The conversation between regular customers and the master was natural, and the atmosphere was cozy.

(10/14/2022: Visit) With the delightful surprise of purchasing a "Pelican" loaf of bread, we headed towards Asakusa, our next destination. This is a longstanding coffee shop that has been watching over Asakusa for nearly 60 years! Lucky for us early birds, they open at 8 am, and when we arrived around 8:30 am, the cozy little shop with only counter seats was already bustling with regular customers! \(◎o◎)/ This shop is famous for using Pelican bread, and we came here specifically for their "Onion Toast" made with that bread! We also ordered the "Ham Toast," "Blend" coffee, and "Milk Coffee." The coffee here is served uniquely - first, they provide you with just the cup, then they brew the coffee using a paper filter and pour it into an enamel pot. When you order, they warm the cup on a gas stove and pour the coffee in. The coffee was piping hot, with a balanced flavor of bitterness and acidity, a delicious blend that suits the old-fashioned vibe of the shop. The master's movements were lovely to watch, and the kitchen layout behind the counter seemed to be designed with years of experience, as every movement was efficient and purposeful. The Onion Toast, with crispy onion slices, pickles, mayonnaise, and pepper sandwiched between perfectly toasted bread, was a unique and addictive dish. The Ham Toast, with the extra step of heating up the ham, was also delicious, showcasing the master's skill and the fragrant Pelican bread. It may not be the kind of place you can just casually stroll into due to its popularity, but discovering such a wonderful coffee shop was truly a delight. Despite being a shop from the Showa era, the fact that it is also affordable is just the cherry on top!

Today's morning stroll took me around Asakusa. Exiting from the A exit of Tsukuba Express Line Asakusa Station, I turned right onto Kaminarimon-dori and left towards Asakusa ROX. Walking a bit towards Tahara-cho Station, I took the first left at the T-junction and found the coffee shop "Coffee Aroma" on my left. Established in 1964, "Coffee Aroma" is a cozy spot with a kitchen in the center and counter seats surrounding it. I arrived at 10:00 am on a weekday to find a few solo customers at the counter. I ordered a blend coffee and a butter toast, both simple yet satisfying choices. The coffee was served piping hot, followed by the butter toast cut into two triangular pieces. The toast was crispy and delicious, especially paired with the blend coffee. It was a nostalgic experience in a homely atmosphere, enjoying a morning at this long-standing coffee shop. Thank you for the meal.

Valuable weekday off. Decided to visit the grave. Oh, in Asakusa, there is Coffee Aroma! I've always wanted to go there. It was quite crowded. Iced coffee for 370 yen, Onion Toast for 280 yen. Yes, yes, I wanted to eat this Onion Toast. Pickles and onions, my favorite ingredients. Simple and just my taste. Satisfied. The iced coffee was sweetened. I usually only drink black coffee, but somehow it seems to suit this shop. Since a milk pitcher came with it, I also added some milk. It seemed like a one-person operation and they seemed to be working hard, but the service was attentive. It was a comforting space. It's close to the temple, so I'll come back again. It was a wonderful and comforting shop.

When you get off the subway at Asakusa, you can see the famous Kaminarimon gate of Sensoji Temple nearby, with Tokyo Skytree visible in the distance. But before sightseeing, we decided to have breakfast, so we walked about 5 minutes from Sensoji Temple to a cafe called "Coffee Aroma." The exterior and interior of the cafe are very Showa-era, so it must be a popular spot for retro enthusiasts. The cafe has a U-shaped counter with a kind-looking master behind it, and only regular customers were sitting in front. We managed to find a seat at the back, and the calming atmosphere made us feel at ease. It was just after 10 a.m., so there was no specific morning set menu, just individual items. We ordered a "Blend Coffee (350 yen)" and an "Iced Milk Coffee (370 yen)" to drink, along with an "Onion Toast (280 yen)" and a "Butter Toast (110 yen)" to eat. Despite being a tourist spot, the prices were very reasonable, and the fact that they served "Pelican" bread, which is famous locally, was a great deal. The toast had a nice brown color, and even though they were small, they were quite filling due to the dense texture of the bread. The raw sliced onions and thinly sliced pickles added a nice crunch and flavor. It was delicious! A very satisfying morning meal, thank you.

Today is the 23rd, the 28th anniversary of a loved one's passing. I came to Asakusa to visit Senso-ji Temple. The area is usually bustling, but in the morning it's quiet and peaceful. I lit some incense, said a prayer, and had breakfast at a cafe called "Aroma." The owner, who is always cheerful, seemed a bit tired from the summer heat. I also felt a bit exhausted. There were only two other customers in the cafe. I ordered a cheese toast and a apricot juice, a combination I've been enjoying lately. The juice was made right in front of me in a blender, with ice, apricot, water, and syrup blended together. It was cold, refreshing, sour, sweet, and fragrant. I loved it. The freshly cut bread was toasted in an old-fashioned pop-up toaster until crispy, then butter was spread on top and cheese was melted on. The paper napkin on the side had a nostalgic Showa era design. The bread was from Pelican. The burnt parts were dry and crispy, while the buttered parts were moist. The cheese was crispy on the outside but melted inside. Each ingredient complemented each other, creating a delicious combination. The milk coffee I ordered was warm and had a gentle bitterness that warmed my stomach on a leisurely morning.

One day, let's go eat and walk in Asakusa, have lunch at "Western Food Yoshikami", and then head to a coffee shop called "Coffee Aroma" near Asakusa ROX. This small coffee shop was established in 1964. They only have counter seats and it tends to be crowded with regular customers, making it hard to visit. However, this time I was able to visit on a weekday. I ordered a "blend coffee" and an "onion toast". The onion toast is a sandwich with onions and pickles between slices of bread, with mustard mayonnaise spread on the bread. The bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, creating a unique texture. The flavor of the onions, pickles, and mustard is surprisingly delicious. The blend coffee has a strong acidity and bitterness. When I added milk and sugar, it became milder. Despite being a newcomer, I felt comfortable and was able to spend a relaxing time. Next time I visit, I want to try the fresh juice that the regular customers were ordering. The prices for the coffee and sandwich were the same as in a magazine from 6 years ago, which is a pleasant surprise in today's world.

Good evening. I am a beauty acupuncturist, Kozue. The other day, when I went to Asakusa, I stopped by a cafe. This time, I visited a shop called Coffee Aroma. The interior of the shop is quite retro, with a slightly U-shaped counter seat only. It seems that the shop is run by a friendly couple, giving off a warm atmosphere. The menu is as follows: Blend Coffee 350 yen, Black Coffee 480 yen, Milk Coffee 350 yen, Milk 350 yen, Lemon Tea 350 yen, Milk Tea 350 yen, Cocoa 440 yen, Iced Coffee 370 yen, Iced Milk Coffee 370 yen, Iced Cocoa 460 yen, Soda Water 370 yen, Fresh Juice (Strawberry, Banana, Apricot, Orange) 400 yen, Lemon Squash 430 yen, Lemonade 400 yen, Milkshake 430 yen, Toast (1 slice) Butter 110 yen, Jam 130 yen, Cheese 130 yen, Peanut Butter 130 yen, Ham Toast 280 yen, Onion Toast 280 yen, Hot Dog 280 yen. This time, I ordered Milk Coffee, Blend Coffee, and Ham Toast. The Blend Coffee was very easy to drink, and the cup was warmed up so it stayed hot until the end. The Milk Coffee had plenty of milk and a gentle coffee flavor, so my friend who doesn't like strong coffee found it very delicious. The Ham Toast was made with a small piece of bread spread with butter and mustard, with ham sandwiched in between and cut into 3 pieces. The toast was perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of mustard flavor and the taste of ham, making it a very delicious toast. The inside of the shop was very cozy, and the atmosphere made it easy for customers to get along with each other. The toast and coffee were both reasonably priced and delicious. I would like to visit again. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
