I went to Ginza West, a long-established Western confectionery shop in Ginza 7-chome. I arrived after 6 PM and took a waiting ticket with 3 groups ahead of me, and finally got called in after an hour. I was seated in a corner table in the back area. I ordered the Purin Darjeeling. I had made a reservation for the Purin in advance, which was a good decision. The Purin that day was firmer than usual, with a distinct ridge. The caramel on top was dark, while the Purin itself was yellow. The caramel was quite bitter, the Purin was firm and rich, with a delicious sweetness from the eggs. The accompanying whipped cream was moist and sweet, and the strawberry was tart. The Darjeeling tea was requested to be light, and it had a strong and refreshing taste.

Revisit. A long-established Western confectionery shop in Ginza. The main store of West, which has multiple outlets in department store basements, is located here. The main store has a classical atmosphere café where you can enjoy café-exclusive sweets. This time, I tried the café-exclusive sweets. On a weekday night, after having sushi dinner in Ginza, I headed to West for some dessert. I was planning to buy a cake to take out, but there were available seats in the café, so I decided to dine in. I really like the café here. Normally, it's so popular that they issue numbered tickets, but perhaps due to the late hour on a weekday night, I was able to get in without waiting. The interior of the shop is not very spacious, but the tables with white tablecloths and the polished silverware give off a vibe that this is not just an ordinary café. Although they also have light meal options on the menu, I had already eaten dinner, so I decided to go for something sweet. While you can also enjoy the sweets sold in the store in the café, since I was in the café, I opted for the café-exclusive sweets. I ordered the Mille-feuille + drink set (1485 yen) with a hot coffee. The Mille-feuille is a simple dessert made with two layers of puff pastry sandwiching custard cream, with Chantilly cream and muscat grapes on the side. Oh, it's quite delicious! The puff pastry seems to be the same as West's leaf pastry, without the sugar on the surface. The custard cream is similar to the one used in West's famous cream puffs. And the puff pastry is in excellent condition. It seems like they make the Mille-feuille fresh after you order. The quality of the puff pastry and cream is high, and being freshly made, it's no wonder it tastes so good. The Chantilly cream on the side is a nice touch. You can mix a little bit of Chantilly cream with the custard to change the flavor to your liking. If only the fruit on the side was strawberries, it would have been perfect. Probably, except in summer, the fruit on the side would be strawberries (as with the pudding), so if you're going to eat this, it might be better in the upcoming seasons. It's also nice that the coffee comes with free refills. I enjoyed a leisurely dessert time with a sneaky refill. The café-exclusive sweets are truly exceptional, even though the sweets sold in the store are delicious as well.

Located in the Ginza 7-chome area along Sotobori Street, this longstanding Western confectionery shop, Ginza West, is now known as Ginza West. The shop offers a variety of sweets and pastries for takeout, and also has a cafe on site. The cafe is open until late, making it convenient for those looking to grab a drink or dessert after work. The cafe can get busy during the day, but evenings are a good time to visit as there are usually no lines. However, popular items may be sold out, so it's best to go early. I recommend trying their mille-feuille, which has a delicate and satisfying texture. The cafe offers a unique system where drinks are the main focus, with the option to add a pastry for an additional cost. Most drinks come with free refills, which is a rare find in Ginza. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make this cafe a must-visit in Ginza.

On Tuesday, just past noon, I visited for the first time. Located between Shinbashi Station and Ginza Station, it's quite a walk. I had been wanting to go for a while, and I felt relieved seeing many women dining alone in the sophisticated and classy interior. The clientele ranged from older ladies to younger women. I ordered the limited-time "Ichigo" dessert for 1320 yen. It had just the right amount of sweetness and was delicious, perfect for cooling down on a hot day. The elegant touch of fresh flowers decorating each table was lovely! Next time, I want to go back to get some cakes to go.

Quite a while ago, I had taken out some cream puffs, but this time I decided to dine in. The showcase outside the store was filled with delicious cakes - roll cakes, chiffon cakes, cheesecakes, mosaic cakes, mocha rolls, puddings, seasonal limited edition coffee jelly, Mont Blanc, pies, cream puffs, and more. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I finally entered the store. There was no waiting space inside, so I had to wait outside. You can get a numbered ticket at the store and they will call you when it's your turn. It was a hot day, so it was a relief to enter the store. They provided water and a wet towel. There were flowers on the table - lavender, curcuma, Italian ruscus. - Half & Half Choux A cafe limited menu. A combination of custard and whipped cream. Topped with powdered sugar. The thin, soft, and light choux pastry filled with fluffy whipped cream and creamy custard was delicious. Despite being a soft cream puff, the delicate thin choux pastry made it surprisingly easy to cut with a knife. - Fresh Herb Tea A blend of lemon balm, spearmint, and lemongrass. Served in a pot. The glass teapot made the vibrant green color of the herbs visible, which was beautiful. Drinking herbal tea was calming. - French Toast A Ginza main store limited menu. French toast made with French bread. The fluffy and well-baked French toast was also topped with powdered sugar. The syrup that came with the herbal tea, was it for the tea or the French toast? Well, it tasted good with both. I poured the syrup on both (laughs). The staff at the store were saying, "It's very hot outside, so please be careful," which left a lasting impression. It's a good store. I feel like my heart is enriched. Thank you for the meal.

I feel reassured by everything here. The cold water, the hot towel, everything. The lemon in the black tea is peeled, and you can even get a refill of iced tea, it's perfect. I always tend to sit near Beethoven for some reason. (laughs) I wanted to buy some sweets to take home, but there was a long line and it was too hot, so I gave up. I will visit again.

Starting the day at Ginza West is pure bliss. Rain or shine, winter or summer, the atmosphere here is always bright and uplifting. The elegant tablecloths, white backrests, and plush sofas create a serene yet invigorating ambiance. The feeling of being in a space of luxury and abundance washes over you, making you feel refreshed. Choosing what to eat is always a dilemma, but today the favorite is the toast set. The perfectly toasted bread, ham and egg sandwich, and ham steak toast are all tempting choices. Requesting the toast to be well-done, the meal preparation is swift yet elegant. The table quickly fills up with a variety of items, from mint-scented hot towels to sparkling silver pitchers. The basket of jams and honey is neatly arranged, offering a selection for your enjoyment. Choosing marmalade and honey, you patiently wait for the freshly brewed tea to be ready. The aroma and flavor of the tea are exceptional, making the wait worthwhile. The Earl Grey's bergamot scent is exotic and refreshing, leaving you feeling rejuvenated. The toast set arrives, accompanied by a salad, boiled egg, and perfectly toasted bread. The dressing is slightly sweet, complementing the crisp vegetables and firm boiled egg. Breaking off a piece of toast, adding a slice of tomato, and generously spreading marmalade creates a delightful combination of flavors. The honey, butter, and toast create a harmonious blend of sweetness, saltiness, and richness. The crispy, slightly burnt toast exterior contrasts with the soft, fluffy interior, creating a satisfying texture. The meal is light yet satisfying, allowing room for a second serving of iced tea. As Bach's cello music plays in the background, you savor the last sip of tea, sweetened with syrup and milk, a perfect ending to a delightful meal.

July 2023. I went to Ginza to do some shopping. I wanted to buy a little gift for my friends as a token of appreciation. During the summer, when I want to give a small gift of sweets, chocolates are out of the question and semi-moist sweets make me worry about storage. I decided that dry baked goods would be a good choice, so I bought these leaf pies to distribute to my friends. Ginza is known for its quality, so I thought my friends would appreciate it. I think I may have tried them before, but I can't remember, so I also bought some for myself. I tried the leaf pies and dry cakes at home, and they were delicious! The leaf pies were crispy with a direct buttery aroma and taste. Not too heavy, light, and you could eat as many as you want. The dry cakes also had a refreshing jam that complemented the crispy cookie dough perfectly. Yes, my friends will definitely appreciate these! And the price is reasonable, plus they don't take up much space, so they look expensive. I confidently recommend this as a souvenir gift. ♡

I used it for the first time in decades to cool down my head full of work. I am grateful that it opens at 9 a.m. on weekdays. The place was almost empty in the morning, almost like a private room. The waitresses are dressed in uniforms reminiscent of a Showa-era company, which is somewhat refreshing. I had the quiche set (1600 yen) with an iced latte. You can have free refills on drinks here. I was recommended to have a second cup, so I did. The quiche is served warm and made with colorful peppers, spinach, and ham. It is carefully made. The cress and tomatoes served on the side are fresh. The tomatoes are sweet. Classic music is playing loudly, and the atmosphere is like an old hotel tea room that hasn't changed since the past. I feel much calmer now.

I thought there was a takeout line for cakes in a drunken daze, but it turned out to be the line to enter the store. It was tough to wait in the scorching sun with no shade. We opted for takeout instead. I'm not a fan of sweets, but the cake here wasn't too sweet and we enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Ginza West. I was excited to finally try the French toast that I had been curious about for a long time. The Aoyama branch offers soufflés and pancakes, while the Ginza main branch has a limited edition French toast. There were so many things I wanted to eat, like sandwiches, toast sets, and freshly made mille-feuille, that I couldn't quite make it there until today. I ordered it with a side of coffee. The polished sugar pot and milk pitcher arrived on a silver tray. The maple syrup was also placed on the tray. Everything was spotless and clear, to the point where my face was reflected in the sugar pot lid when I peeked inside. It was enchanting. During the pandemic, there were sugar sticks in the sugar pot for infection prevention. The staff serving us seemed more relaxed and the atmosphere was brighter. It was comforting. The mint-scented cloth towel. The foiled angel character dancing on the coffee cup and water glass. The lace cover on the backrest of the chair and the sparkling white tablecloth. Just looking at them made me feel fulfilled. It took a little while. The French toast arrived after about 10 minutes, with three slices of French bread stacked on top of each other, sprinkled with powdered sugar. It looked so beautiful that it was enchanting. When I tapped the surface with a fork, it made a dull sound and swayed. The surface was crispy, and the inside was soft. When I cut into it, the crust resisted a bit, but overall it was fluffy. It was smooth, like pudding, and I completely forgot that it was once a baguette. It had a simple yet deep flavor, with the aroma of burnt wheat, butter, and eggs. It was very simple, but that's what made it so flavorful. When eaten without syrup, the powdered sugar tasted sweet. When maple syrup was poured on, the saltiness of the dough emerged. The caramel-like scent spread in my mouth and quickly disappeared. It was delicious. It made me want to share it with Tanaka-kun, who would definitely love it. I was excited to have found my No. 1 French toast. When the staff cleared the plate, I asked how long they marinate it for. The surprising answer was only about an hour, as they prepare it in the morning at the shop. Perhaps the baguette dough absorbs the flavors easily. This gave me an idea to make French toast using the baguette bread from the nearby La Baguette bakery. I'll give it a try! I apologized for spilling maple syrup on the tablecloth, but the staff kindly said not to worry as removing stains was part of their job. I love this place for these reasons as well.

I couldn't eat the strawberry frozen peach yesterday, so today I came back for revenge. It's not shaved ice here. They shave frozen strawberries for you. You can enjoy both the sourness and sweetness.

Limited time offer peach tart, the peach on top is amazing~ The custard cream between the tart and peach is really delicious. In the evening, when my blood sugar levels had dropped quite a bit, I injected this into my body. My body is rejoicing all the way down to the capillaries. I'm also really curious about the Frozen Strawberry Dessert, another limited time offer, so I'll definitely be back soon.

Ginza West Confectionery Store Ginza Main Store ⸜ ⸝ Food log rating 3.56 There was a wait on holidays, but they called us so we could pass the time ✌・Cake set (drink + ¥385) When you order this cake set, they bring samples of cakes to your table, which is super cute... I had decided that I wanted to try the famous Mosaic Cake first, but when I saw these samples, I was so torn ̖́- In the end, I went with the Mosaic Cake, which was delicious with a hint of salt in the sweet chocolate❣️ There were also cream puffs available only in the cafe, and I was so indecisive that it was a struggle. The drinks cost over ¥1000, but they offer free refills, which is a great deal. I ordered lychee tea, which was so delicious that I ended up drinking about 3 cups. It was hot but not too hot, easy to drink, and I finished it in seconds. I think it's because of the season, but I received a leaf pie as a gift for one person as a midsummer gift (4th picture, you have to see it because it was so touching) I was so happy!! Unexpected gifts are always nice, right? ☀️¥1000~/person‍♀️Holiday (30-minute wait) For one person○⏱ [Mon-Fri] 9:00-22:00 (L.O. 21:30) (Shop open until 23:00) [Sat-Sun, holidays] 11:00-20:00 (L.O)

I had some errands nearby and visited Ginza West while waiting. The interior is like a hotel cafe, very calming. The clientele is quite upscale and there were no loud customers, so I was able to relax and read. I ordered French toast, pudding, and a cafe au lait. I was surprised by the fluffy and creamy texture of the French toast. The pudding was firm and rich, with a caramel flavor that had a mature taste. As I enjoyed a refill of cafe au lait, I had a graceful moment. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Visited West Ginza main store located about a 5-minute walk from JR Yurakucho. It is situated in between JR Yurakucho and JR Shinbashi. Utilized the cafe space on a Sunday night. As a long-established store, the ambiance inside is quite charming. The white table covers and fresh flowers give off a feeling of being in a hotel lounge. Ordered cake and coffee. The price ranges around 1,500 yen including tax, depending on the type of cake. The Mont Blanc was very simple in design with no decorative elements, and the taste was also simple. It consisted of cream and sponge, not too rich, making it easy to enjoy. The strawberry mille-feuille was also simple, but the custard inside was a bit runny, making it difficult to eat. The sweetness was somewhat vague, and the balance was a bit off. The coffee had a gentle taste without much impact, but refills were unlimited. Was slightly disappointed as I was expecting something more impressive. Perhaps West is better known for their baked goods like leaf pie.

I love the cream puffs at Ginza West. There are only a few places in Tokyo where you can buy them, so I always want to get some when I'm nearby ❤️ This time, I went after watching a movie at Hibiya Midtown. The cafe was crowded, but I was able to buy some for takeout right away. It was my first cream puff in a long time ✨✨✨✨ It was heavy and filled with a generous amount of custard. Pure happiness ===========

I visited before noon on a regular day. There were many people waiting outside on holidays, but I was able to sit at my favorite seat. As time passed, the seats started to fill up. I ordered a salad, French toast, and herbal tea. The French toast had a strong buttery flavor, but I was able to eat it all without feeling heavy. I think it's because of the quality of the ingredients. When I crave French toast, I will definitely go to West.

I went to a cafe with the purpose of eating in this time. As I was looking at the menu, I saw a banana sundae! I decided to order it. It consisted of bananas, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. It was simple and perfect without any extra toppings like chocolate or almonds. Simple is best. It was delicious!

●Ginza West is a sincere Western confectionery shop●4/5/9 minutes walk from Ginza/Shinbashi/Yurakucho Station●Opened in 1947●Accepts PayPay●History and store name origin (from official website)………………………………………………………In 1947, when "West" opened in Ginza, it started as a restaurant. Inviting a chef from a shipping company during the peak of the ship travel era, West served dishes priced at 1,000 yen while a cup of coffee in the city cost 10 yen at the time. However, shortly after opening, a municipal ordinance was enacted prohibiting menus priced above 75 yen, forcing West to transform into a cafe by retaining only the confectionery department. The "Evening of Famous Music" event started in 1948 was not just about playing classical music in the store, but also included scheduled commentary, making West a gathering place for "cultural people" rather than just a place serving expensive coffee. Subsequently, due to the construction of an underground parking lot in Nishi-Ginza in 1962, the sales of the Ginza store's fresh confectionery drastically declined. To address this, the idea of selling canned cookies to high-end restaurants was born. These cookies were later expanded and enhanced with flavors like nuts, becoming the current main product "Dry Cake". The "Dry Cake" sold only in the Tokyo area is popular as a "Tokyo souvenir" and for gift-giving. The store was originally located in an area known as "Nishi-Ginza". The name "GINZA WEST" is derived from "GRILL WEST GINZA", where "GRILL" was removed and "WEST" was flipped with "GINZA".………………………………………………………━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━▼ Menu ▼━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━【Set Menu: Coffee Blend】¥660 (including tax) (¥1,100 for single item) *Free refillsA blend with a deep flavor and balanced taste. The remarkable service, taste, and ambiance easily surpass the admiration that has accumulated over time. It's a satisfying experience akin to staying in a luxury hotel! In conclusion, it's a place where you can enjoy a sense of satisfaction like a hotel stay.
