Since coming here at night last month, I have been wanting to try the shaved ice. After having lunch, I was treated to shaved ice. The syrup for the shaved ice was brown sugar syrup, which was a pleasant surprise. I chose a flavor that tasted like black tea. It was fluffy with black tea jelly at the bottom. The pound cake sponge was also fluffy and had a fine texture. I was a bit distracted and didn't pay much attention to the taste, but it was nice to be able to sit without waiting in the crowded restaurant.

I sat on the terrace with my beloved dog. It was the night of the fireworks event at the International Conference Center, but we couldn't hear or see the fireworks at all. It was a good decision to reserve a terrace seat as the indoor area was fully booked. Overall, everything was delicious. The Mont Blanc dessert was a bit on the sweet side. I would like to come back for dinner next time.

I recently visited with a friend and ordered the carbonara and margherita pizza. If the seasonal pasta is available for lunch, we usually order pasta and pizza to share. The pizza is decently tasty. The restaurant is not a high-end Italian dining place, so it's nice to have a light meal. On hot days, they provide cold water for those waiting, and they offer small surprises in their service, making the dining experience enjoyable. When planning to eat near the botanical garden, the options around the Kitayama area are limited, and it takes time to get to Kitaoji Station, so I wish there was another restaurant adjacent to the botanical garden.

Today is my beloved dog Nut's 15th birthday. We had lunch together at a restaurant called IN THE GREEN next to the botanical garden. I had pork and corn, zucchini tomato sauce pasta. It was a cloudy day during the rainy season, but we enjoyed our delicious pasta lunch on the terrace. The terrace had a nice atmosphere with greenery from the botanical garden. Nut may have been a bit annoyed at being woken up from his nap at home, but we were able to spend a pleasant time together for lunch.

I was able to get in without waiting after lunchtime on my day off. I ordered a pizza set with beer. The set came with a salad. I had the Capricciosa pizza. I forgot to take a picture, but it looked and tasted good. The salad had some parts that had turned brown, maybe due to being cut for a while, which was disappointing. The beer was a Heartland.

I had a BBQ at IN THE GREEN located in the botanical garden in Kitayama, Kyoto. This year's Golden Week was spent nearby. The entrance fee for the botanical garden is 200 yen for adults and free for children, allowing us to enjoy nature up close. The roses were in full bloom at this time, and after spending about 2 hours exploring, we enjoyed the BBQ we had reserved. The BBQ course (with all-you-can-drink) costs 4800 yen, with children at half price. We toasted with Heartland beer for adults and orange juice for our daughter. The BBQ included beef shoulder loin, chicken thighs, bacon, sausages, head-on shrimp, and chorogi salad. I did my best grilling for my family during this GW family bonding time. My mother, wife, and daughter all seemed to enjoy the food, which made me happy. The meal ended with cooked rice and desserts. For my drinks, I had a second glass of gin and tonic, followed by a gin back, and finished with a highball. Knowing we couldn't finish all the food, we brought Tupperware for leftovers. Along the way, my daughter accidentally broke a glass, but the staff handled it kindly. After eating, we walked along the Kamo River to Kawaramachi and then headed back home.

I came for lunch during the cherry blossom season. Since you can't make lunch reservations during cherry blossom season, I arrived early and there was already a long line even before the restaurant opened. Once they opened, we were seated one after another and luckily managed to get a table on the inner terrace. Although the restaurant was nice (despite my allergies), I was seated on the inner terrace without a view of the cherry blossom tree. However, I still enjoyed a delicious lunch while soaking in the spring atmosphere. The only downside was that my table was near a narrow aisle, and I kept getting bumped by passing staff members, which was a bit distracting. It would be better if they considered the table placements more carefully to avoid this issue.

The crust was a bit thin for my liking, I prefer thicker crust, but it was nicely crispy and fragrant. I went to the botanical garden to see the night cherry blossoms. I had an early dinner before the lights came on. During the daytime, you can enter the restaurant from inside the garden, but in the evening, you have to exit the garden and enter from the Kitayama-dori entrance. By the way, you can re-enter the garden with your botanical garden ticket. I ordered a Margherita wood-fired pizza. It was about 25 centimeters in diameter. I was worried if I could finish it, but I didn't need to worry (lol). The crust had a nice char and was fragrant, and the mozzarella cheese was chewy and delicious!

The delicious focaccia was very impressive. The roast pork was very tasty with the tomato sauce, but I felt that the pork was a bit tough in terms of doneness. At the beginning of the year, we shared the weekly pasta special and Margherita pizza at In The Green. Both the kids and adults enjoyed the pasta and pizza, which they ate a lot of. I visited around 12 o'clock on Sunday. I tried to make a reservation the day before, but all the slots were full. I waited in line for about 30 minutes in front of the restaurant. It's a popular place. I ordered the lunch plate, which looked stylish and healthy! The interior of the restaurant is stylish and the atmosphere is nice, with terrace seating where you can relax. I was seated at the counter, where I could see the pizza chef making pizzas in front of me. His skills were amazing and I couldn't stop watching (laughs). The food was delicious, but because it was crowded, I couldn't relax thinking about the customers waiting in line. It's a great restaurant though... There was a cherry blossom tree in the garden, so I think it would be perfect for cherry blossom viewing season.
