There is a Korean restaurant in the Tower Sand Food Hall in the basement of Kyoto Tower. It seems to have recently opened. Although the Yangnyeom Chicken was recommended, I decided to try the Honey Mustard Chicken. It seems to be fried chicken coated in honey mustard, with a moist yet crispy texture that is delicious. It goes well with beer. Thank you for the meal.

KYOTO TOWER SANDO, a commercial facility located from the basement 1st floor to the 2nd floor above ground in Kyoto Tower Building, reopened on 4/22 (Sat). Seven popular stores from Kyoto Prefecture have newly opened, including a cafe from a long-established Japanese confectionery store and a sweets shop. The cafe area has been expanded, and a space with public art installations has been created, making it a place where you can encounter the "now" of Kyoto's streets. One of the restaurants we visited this time is a popular authentic Korean restaurant in Shijo Karasuma, named after a Korean word meaning "paradise". You can enjoy dishes such as Kalbi Donburi made with A5 grade black wagyu beef and Kyoto vegetables, and Kyoto-style Naengmyeon, which are authentic Korean dishes with a Kyoto twist. The menu includes: - Wagyu Kalbi Donburi (990 yen) (large serving 1490 yen) - Kyoto-style Naengmyeon (870 yen) (large serving 1300 yen) - Juicy Fried Chicken (690 yen) - Yangnyeom Chicken (770 yen) - Mipanchan (380 yen or 680 yen) The Wagyu Kalbi Donburi is grilled fragrantly after you place your order.

Today, I visited a Korean restaurant called Nagwonchan in the food court area of Kyoto Tower Sand, which just had its grand reopening. The name Nagwonchan means "paradise" in Korean. This Nagwonchan is a new concept store of Muraji, a noodle shop, where they serve Korean dishes with a Kyoto twist. Their signature dish is the Kalbi bowl made with Japanese beef and Kyoto vegetables. They also offer side dishes called Mippanchan, as well as dishes like Yangnyeom Chicken and cold noodles. You order your food at the counter, choose your Mippanchan from the showcase, and then pay at the end. The Mippanchan costs 380 yen for one or 680 yen for three, with a variety of Namul and Kimchi to choose from. I tried the Yangnyeom Chicken, which consisted of 5 pieces of chicken coated in a sweet and spicy sauce. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a good balance of flavors. Overall, it was a satisfying and flavorful meal.

The Kyoto Tower Sand has been renovated, and there is now a food court-like area with Korean cuisine available. I tried the Yangnyeom Chicken, which was delicious with its sweet and spicy flavor. They also offer dishes like Kalbi Don and Naengmyeon.
