I visited the shop on a weekend afternoon and it turned out to be a great find. They have a cafe space where you can enjoy sweets made with vegetables and fruits, with different types of Mont Blanc depending on the season. I tried the spinach and matcha Mont Blanc with a set of green tea, and it was delicious. The Mont Blanc was large with a rich matcha flavor and a hint of spinach, and it paired perfectly with the green tea. My partner had the blueberry sweet which had an interesting combination of cream cheese and red bean paste, and we also bought some baked goods (financiers and monaka) to take home. It's a wonderful shop where you can enjoy delicious vegetable-based sweets, and I think it would make a great treat for yourself or as a gift for someone special.

I went to try the hoozuki kakigori that was featured on the cover of Tokyo Metro's newsletter. I had never tried hoozuki before, but it was sweet and sour with a taste similar to mango. It resembled mango but lacked the richness, with a tangy flavor that was more refreshing than mango. It was very delicious. I also wanted to try the tomato kakigori and the limited-time celery kakigori. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around 4 pm on Saturday. The interior was full, so I had to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated. I heard that they only start taking waiting customers once all the outdoor seats are taken as well. The dish I ordered had lots of small pieces of fig with a delicious sauce. The sauce was generously poured over the dish, and it remained tasty until the last bite!

I saw a woman on a morning show who eats over 1500 shaved ice desserts a year introducing a unique shaved ice dessert made with vegetables. She mentioned how she recently tried a pumpkin shaved ice dessert even though she usually dislikes vegetables, especially aromatic ones. Intrigued, I quickly headed to the store in Azabu-Juban, a place I rarely visit. The store, not originally a shaved ice specialty shop, offered various vegetable-based desserts. After ordering and paying, I received a number tag to use for seating. There were about seven shaved ice flavors available, with the celery one standing out. The shaved ice was topped with a special celery sauce, rich cream cheese, and celery compote. The compote had visible celery strands, confirming its authenticity. Despite the unique vegetable flavor, the dessert was well-balanced, not overly sweet, and refreshing. The texture was similar to pineapple, but the celery flavor was distinct. The overall balance of the shaved ice was perfect, with no off-putting flavors. The reviewer recommended the dessert even to those who dislike celery, as it was a unique and refreshing treat.

I visited the store because I wanted to eat shaved ice during the Bon festival holiday. I was curious about the fig shaved ice, but I chose the avocado shaved ice. It was the best shaved ice, creamy and delicious. The cream was layered between the ice, making it refreshing yet rich. The cream was heavy, and the first time I had it, the shaved ice collapsed, so I had to try the avocado shaved ice again. It costs 1,500 yen each. I want to go back for more before the season ends.

I received a souvenir from a dandy bistro reviewer who I had the pleasure of meeting at Tiger Ball in Kokubunji. The dandy gentleman also enjoyed the bellflower shaved ice here, right? The souvenir I received was fruit chips and vegetable yokan. The fruit chips had a crispy and crunchy texture. They are fried snacks, but you don't really taste the oil. The colors are vibrant, and when you eat them, you can taste the fruits like kiwi, papaya, and mango. The vegetable yokan was tomato flavored, but unfortunately, my family ate it before I could try it. I'm sorry. As expected from a confectionery in Azabu-Juban, it had a stylish and luxurious feel. Thank you, dandy gentleman. It was a delicious treat.

I have been visiting this place every year since it opened, but I haven't been able to come during the pandemic, so this visit was after a long time. I went there specifically for the fig shaved ice, but they had run out the day before, so they didn't have it on this day. It was disappointing, but there were other things I wanted to try, so I'll come back again. I tried the avocado shaved ice. I thought the black stuff was black beans, but it turned out to be blueberries. The avocado was in a creamy form and had a fluffy texture. The ice and cream were layered, so there was also plain ice, making the flavor deep. (I'm in favor of plain ice!) The ice here is really cold. So when you eat inside, it's cold... Yes, it's been like that every year. I wonder if they are tourists? There were also several Asian foreign visitors. I wonder how they know about this place?

I visited "Azabu Yasai Kashi" in Minato-ku, Tokyo. The location is a 5-minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line. The interior of the shop exudes warmth with its wooden decor and the displays are very neat. The shop specializes in vegetable-based sweets, opened by graphic designer Hanazaki in 2014 after relocating from Minami-Azabu. I tried the following items: - Fig Shaved Ice: I intended to try a vegetable-based item, but couldn't resist ordering my favorite fig. The sauce had a strong fig flavor, with actual fig slices in it. The shaved ice also contained cream cheese and condensed milk, adding a nice balance of acidity and sweetness. - Vegetable Financier: Spinach & Matcha, Pumpkin flavors - Black Sesame Senbei: A DIY senbei where the skin and filling are separate. The black sesame filling had a rich flavor with a hint of sansho pepper. The crispy skin had a subtle woodruff taste. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is small with a few seats inside and outside. Even in the summer, it doesn't get too hot during the afternoon. There are 8 seats inside and 4 outside, with additional seating in the waiting area. Overall, it's a great place to eat if the staff can keep up with the operations.

I went to a vegetable-based sweets shop recommended by a friend. They offer a wide variety of sweets, from dorayaki to yokan and senbei, all made with vegetables. I tried the pumpkin and purple sweet potato dorayaki. The vegetable flavors come through in the sweet bean paste, but it's not too sweet and has a light taste, so even those who don't like sweet bean paste might enjoy it. They have many colorful products, so it might be a good idea for gifts. They also have a space where you can eat vegetable cakes in the store, so I would like to try that next time!

Returning to my hometown, I received a special treat from MYF-san, whom I met after a long time at the Anywhere Footprint Tracking Squad Off event. Feeling pressured from various directions, I decided to stick to my usual self and not force any changes. The deep-fried vegetables made using the decompression fry method were delicious, with the natural flavors of the ingredients preserved and sprinkled with curry powder. They were crispy, retaining the sweetness of the vegetables. I enjoyed them as a snack with my evening drink, but they would also be great with tea. Another item I tried was vegetable yokan, and I chose "burdock" flavor. It had a sweet yokan with a soft texture and a unique bitterness from the burdock. I wonder how it would taste with other vegetables? It piqued my curiosity. Thank you so much.

After enjoying French cuisine at Azabu-Juban, I visited this shop located near exit 2 of Azabu-Juban Station. I happened to discover this shop where I bought souvenirs for an upcoming offline meeting. They had vegetable financiers, yokan, and even Mizuyokan! However, due to the hot weather that felt like the end of the rainy season, Mizuyokan was sold out. Nevertheless, the yokan looked delicious too. Here's what I bought: - Vegetable Chips (Curry) for 745 yen - Fruit Chips for 788 yen - Yokan for 345 yen Since I was already there, I decided to try their shaved ice. I chose the Ground Cherry shaved ice for 1,200 yen. Ground cherries, huh? They are like the decorations you see at the Asakusa Hozuki Market, right? Surprisingly, the shaved ice was served with finely shaved ice and had a sweet and sour taste, more like a dessert than I expected! Maybe I should try the fig flavor next time. Celery is said to cause stains when exposed to direct sunlight, so I'll avoid it on sunny days (laughs). It had a mango-like color and taste, quite impressive! I finished it without spilling, feeling accomplished. I also tried the fig yokan. Wow, this is delicious too! Who knew figs had such an elegant taste? And leaving the texture of the seeds adds to the experience. These are made in Kyoto. When in Kyoto, you must try Kyoto cuisine and Japanese food. It's a must-do, right? I originally planned to gift the Mizuyokan, but the yokan is also quite good! It has a sweet taste with a nice accent. It has a longer shelf life, making it a great option for gifts. Thank you for the meal. After this, stay tuned for reviews of two restaurants in Kokubunji and a drive in northern Kanto (probably). I'll be posting three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) for now.

I recommend this place when you feel like eating shaved ice! 【Nearest Station】5-minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station 【Visit Time】Sundays, around 3:00 PM 【Waiting Time】10 minutes 【Number of People】2 【Order】Spinach and Matcha Shaved Ice The shaved ice has a slight bitterness from the matcha, with a hint of sweetness. It's a satisfying treat with minimal guilt, as the spinach flavor is not overpowering. Thank you for the meal!

*Waiting time* No wait on Sunday at 14:30 *Order & Price* Vegetable financiers (burdock), Vegetable paste dorayaki (purple sweet potato) *Atmosphere* The shop is filled with healthy-looking sweets. *Service* PayPay is accepted. Eat-in option available. *Impression* The burdock flavor spreads throughout the mouth with cocoa and rum raisins on top, surprising me. Thanks to the chocolate, it's not too earthy and quite delicious. The texture of the rum raisins adds to the enjoyment. It may be a hit or miss for some, but I personally like it. The smooth purple dough has a nice mouthfeel. The purple sweet potato paste is smooth like the dough, not too sweet, and delicious. *Expectation* The elegant and colorful appearance makes it a great gift that will surely be appreciated.

This shop, which was also covered by a TV interview, is known for its various sweets made with vegetables and fruits! Since it's summer, I went there aiming for shaved ice! There were many flavors, but I ordered fig and ground cherry! The fluffy ice with the original sweetness of both fruits was delicious, with condensed milk sauce for the fig and mango sauce for the ground cherry, it was incredibly tasty! However, the portion is quite large, so sharing one with another person might be just right haha. It's a popular shop, so definitely check it out!! #Tokyo #Azabujuban #Sweets #TokyoGourmet #AzabujubanGourmet #TokyoSweets #AzabujubanSweets #AzabuVegetableSweets #ShavedIce #Summer #Tradition #TabelogFan #TabelogPopularShop #HighRating #SweetsLover #VegetableLover #FruitLover #FruitLover #SweetTooth #DeliciousFoodLover #Delicious #Yummy #GreatFoodHere #SalarymanFoodDiary #SalarymanHoliday #WorkingAdultHoliday #CarefulLiving

Vegetable sweets shop in Asakusa. You can also eat in, and they serve shaved ice in the summer! They offer unique flavors like eggplant and red wine, mini tomato, spinach and matcha. I ended up choosing fig (1,200 yen) after contemplating between that and ground cherry. It consisted of fresh fig, fig sauce, cream cheese, and condensed milk. It was not too sweet and refreshing. There was no line, so I think it's a hidden gem! (It would be nice if they offered water as a service...) Money spent: 1,200 yen Rating: 3 points 5 points: Definitely want to revisit!! 4 points: Would like to revisit if given the chance! 3 points: Would consider revisiting. 2 points: Once is enough. 1 point: No need to go.

I don't like vegetables, but I was intrigued as I passed by and decided to enter the shop. I wanted to try the vegetable shaved ice, but when I asked the staff, they said it was not the fluffy type but the crunchy type, so I gave up. The "spinach Mont Blanc cake" was delicious, with a subtle sweetness and no strange taste as I had imagined. I would like to visit this shop again! (*^^*)

On this day, I visited the area around Azabu-Juban. This shop offers sweets made with vegetables. Not only using ingredients like pumpkin and sweet potato, but also tomatoes, ginger, spinach, celery, etc... which are not traditionally known to pair well with sweets. With the increasing health-conscious trend, this shop seems to be gaining more attention. They offer takeout options as well as a cafe menu. This was my second visit, and this time I visited during a different season. The shop also offers vegetable shaved ice, but it is only available in the summer. So, during my visit to Azabu-Juban, I decided to revisit the shop. In addition to shaved ice, I also decided to get some takeout items. During the summer, they offer shaved ice, while in other seasons, they provide parfaits, Mont Blanc, and more. Since it was over 35 degrees on the day of my visit, the cafe space was limited to 4 seats for 2 people each. They had also set up a terrace seat, but I was hesitant about it. The shop was quite busy with customers coming in for shaved ice, but I managed to secure a spot inside. The turnover was fast, so if it's full, it's better to wait unless you're in a hurry. They offer five types of shaved ice, with the limited edition Japanese black tea being particularly popular. However, I stuck to my original plan of trying the vegetable-based shaved ice. Here is what I tried: - Mini Tomato Shaved Ice: Tomato syrup with cream cheese and mini tomatoes stacked on shaved ice. The tomato flavor was refreshing with a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. - Spinach Shaved Ice: Spinach paste with azuki beans on shaved ice. The spinach had a deep bitterness that paired well with the sweet azuki beans. - Vegetable Financier with Ginger: A financier cake with plenty of ginger mixed in and topped with ginger sugar. The spicy ginger added an interesting texture to the cake. - Vegetable Monaka with Lotus Root: A crispy monaka shell filled with vegetable paste and topped with sliced lotus root. The combination of the crunchy lotus root and creamy vegetable paste was harmonious. - Vegetable Mizuyokan with Tomato: A mizuyokan with whole ripe mini tomatoes inside. The sweet and juicy tomatoes made the dessert delightful. Overall, it was a treat to try vegetable-based shaved ice, and it was surprisingly delicious. It's a shame it's only available in the summer.

A traditional Japanese confectionery shop located in Azabu-Juban. I visited for a break after lunch. The shop's brand concept is "slightly luxurious sweets made from vegetables." They are constantly exploring how delicious and beautiful sweets can be made using vegetables, without being limited to the idea that vegetables equal health. In the café space of the shop, you can enjoy seasonal sweets and drinks such as summer shaved ice and the popular Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc! This time, I ordered the ground cherry shaved ice for the summer! The fluffy ice topped with layers of condensed milk, mango, and orange combined with the ground cherry sauce resembled a tropical fruit, and the combination was excellent! It was refreshing and had a summery feel, highly recommended! The number of seats inside the shop is limited, so be aware that there may be a line after lunchtime in the summer. Location: Within walking distance from Azabu-Juban Station Interior: Clean traditional Japanese confectionery shop Seating: Tables available in the café space Customer base: Adults from Minato Ward, couples, families Other: Not only shaved ice but also sweets are recommended! Situation: Couple date - Yes; Date with someone special - Yes; Café break - Yes

I visited the store with friends after lunch. The takeaway dessert section was spacious, but there weren't many seats for dining in, probably due to COVID-19 measures. The atmosphere was not really conducive for lingering. The vegetable shaved ice menu was quite unique, with combinations I had never seen before. My friends ordered something red, which I think was tomato, and maybe celery as well, but I'm not sure. I ordered the cheek shaved ice, which tasted mostly like mango. I was surprised to learn that cheek fruit tastes similar to mango.

Red mini tomato shaved ice ¥1100 I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be far more delicious than I imagined. I thought I had to come back for this. I was surprised by how well tomatoes and condensed milk go together. The tomatoes themselves are quite sweet, the sweetest I've ever had. The condensed milk adds a touch of sweetness, allowing you to fully enjoy the sweetness of the tomatoes while keeping it refreshing. There's plenty of tomato sauce throughout the shaved ice, which is slightly soft and crunchy. It's quite a generous portion for ¥1100, making it a great value for money.
