I have become repetitive in my posts, but once again, I want to talk about the limited-time sale of Satonishiki Candle Night Cake, available only for two days a year. This year it will be on June 20th and 21st. I have been eating this cake every year, and this will be my sixth time. Despite my poor memory, I always remember this cake at the perfect timing. Unfortunately, my husband will be away on a business trip on both days this year, returning on the night of the 23rd. It seemed impossible for us to get the cake this year, but he insisted on wanting to eat it since he has it every year. So, I thought, why not freeze it? I made a phone reservation this year since I couldn't visit the store in person. After my dental appointment in Ginza on the 21st, I went to pick up the cake. The Satonishiki Candle Night Cake costs 1,134 yen per piece. This is a biennial tradition in our house, so I froze my portion. I wrapped each piece in paper and put two pieces in a freezer bag before placing them in the freezer. I researched online if it was okay to freeze the cake since it contains fresh fruits, which might turn watery upon defrosting. But, due to my husband's request, I had to freeze it anyway. We ended up eating it on the night of the 24th instead of the 23rd when he returned from his trip. After dinner, I moved the cake from the freezer to the fridge for 2-3 hours. When we finally ate it, it was in a semi-defrosted state, resembling a sherbet. The coldness was particularly delightful on a hot day. The taste was, of course, delicious as always. Although the store may not recommend it, I believe that freezing and semi-defrosting the cake in certain situations is acceptable. I'm so glad we could enjoy it this year. It was truly a series of miracles - remembering to make a reservation at the perfect timing, scheduling a dental appointment on the sale day, and successfully enjoying the cake after freezing it. It was a miraculous experience indeed.

The interior of the shop is filled with visually stunning fruit tarts. There is such a variety that it's hard to decide which one to choose. Especially this time of year, the display is focused on autumn with figs and Mont Blanc tarts catching the eye. Today, I ended up getting a rich chocolate tart and a mango and peach tart to go. The taste was just as delicious as the appearance! The cream they use has an elegant flavor that isn't too sweet, allowing the sweetness of the fruits to shine. Using fresh fruits, the prices are somewhat high, but for an occasional indulgence, it's worth it! Kilfebohn offers consistently delicious flavors, making it a great choice for souvenirs as well. I went to get my favorite Mont Blanc from Kilfebon. I also got a Mont Blanc, fig, and seasonal fruit tart. The Mont Blanc was rich and delicious as always. But I couldn't resist the Shine Muscat either. I want to see how many I can eat.

A friend wanted to try out Kiirobon, so I came with the intention of getting takeout. However, there was a 15-minute wait, so I decided to have some cake instead. Even though I was already full from lunch, I ordered a fruit tart. It had a variety of fruits on top, so it didn't feel repetitive. I also bought some baked goods as souvenirs. I'm looking forward to enjoying them at home!

The restaurant I would like to introduce this time is "Qu'il Fait Bon GRANDE MAISON GINZA" in Ginza, Tokyo. Just like last time, there was a request to eat a birthday cake, so I ordered it online and picked it up. Last time it was "Shine Muscat Tart," and this time it was "Fig and Red Fruit Chocolate Tart." The colorful red fruits combined with the chocolate tart looked very appealing, and the taste was satisfying as well. The cocoa tart base had a slightly bitter taste, complemented by the freshness and sweetness of the seasonal fruits. Although it is a bit pricey, the taste is worth it! There were many delicious Ichigo cakes lined up at the moment. We bought a variety and shared them, but all of them were delicious with the fruits tasting amazing. They were all tasty, but the strawberry was especially sweet and had an excellent compatibility with the tart crust and custard. I want to go back again.

There was an event at a mahjong parlor in Ginza, so I decided to try the Kilfebon shop for lunch, even though it was a bit early. I had to wait for 15 minutes, but I was seated right away. As a mahjong fan, I ordered the Lyudan melon tart (with a straight Earl Grey tea). It was so delicious that even my mahjong game felt sweeter!

It was delicious! I bought some baked sweets made with figs and oranges. I didn't have time to eat in that day, but the baked goods for sale in the store, especially the financiers, were both generous in portion and high in quality. I would like to try the cake set at the cafe next time. (^ω^)

Whenever I visit, it's always crowded. Today, there's a 60-minute wait at the cafe. Still, the fruit tart is consistently delicious, making it hard to choose every time. I prefer custard cream-based ones. Mango is the best. It looks beautiful too.

I arrived around 5:30 PM on Friday and only had to wait for 15 minutes. I asked if it was okay to only wait for 15 minutes since I often see longer wait times on weekends, like 60 or 90 minutes during lunchtime. They gave me a numbered paper right away and directed me to the entrance downstairs. The staff inside immediately showed me to my table. Today, the Shine Muscat was sold out, so I decided to try the Fig and Chocolate Cream Tart and Earl Grey Ice Cream, which were available for 5 days from August 23 to 27. The fig slices were neatly arranged with occasional hints of cassis, which added a nice touch. The chocolate cream paired well with the sponge and was moist and delicious. It was a bit tricky to cut through the bottom chocolate, but it was fun to eat it that way. There were many families and individuals dining, enjoying a variety of fruits. I didn't have to wait long, so I will definitely visit again during a less crowded time. I left around 6:20 PM, and the line for takeout was as busy as usual.

I visited the Ginza store for the first time. In fact, it had been over 10 years since I last visited a KIRI FE BON store. There used to be a store in Nagoya as well, and I used to go there frequently to buy tarts, but one day it suddenly closed down and I haven't been back since. I heard that you can make reservations online, but I thought I could just buy some tarts on a weekday around 5 pm without any problem. There was no line at the store, and there were quite a few types of tarts available. The fruits on the tarts were sparkling like jewels, and the showcase was vivid and beautiful. [Items purchased] Fig and chocolate tart Chocolate mint tart Lemon tart I feel like the chocolate mint tart has been around since the old days. It made me feel nostalgic, so I couldn't help but buy it. This is my favorite and it's delicious. The fig tart was voluminous and satisfying. However, I feel like the fig was overshadowed by the chocolate a bit. The lemon tart had a filling that was heavier than I expected, and I felt that the balance between the fruit and the base was a bit off. Personally, I prefer the tart crust to be a bit more fragrant, and some of the tarts had an imbalance between the fruit and the filling. Overall, I think they are delicious tarts! The peach tart also looked delicious, so I would like to go buy it if I have the chance. I'm also looking forward to the Mont Blanc and sweet potato tarts that will come out in the fall.

I had a fig tart, which was delicious, but one piece didn't feel like enough. The calories didn't seem too concerning. It doesn't seem to be a one-drink minimum. If you only order the tart, it will cost 1000 yen with change. I deducted one star because when I first entered, there was no staff and I had to go out to call them, which was a bit inconvenient.

I visited after a long time. It's a good time before lunch when it's not crowded. As expected, I was able to enter without waiting. Today, I had a "peach tart" and tangerine juice. Tangerine juice has become a regular for me and it's delicious. The peach tart was also delicious, but I felt like the portion was a bit small (because I was hungry before lunch), but I resisted thinking about lunch. I thought it would be nice to have dessert first, but thank you for the meal.

I took out the summer limited cakes from Qu'il Fait Bon. They were a melon and blond chocolate cream tart, a natsumizuki tart with white wine flavor, and a tart with "Toyomitsuhime" figs from Fukuoka prefecture. The natsumizuki strawberries are a rare variety grown only in Hokkaido and were very sweet. The white wine custard was light, not too sweet, and easy to eat. The melon had a refreshing aroma of juniper berries (the source of gin's scent) and was delicious. I haven't tried the fig yet.

Peach Fair 2023 28th popular cake shop Kilfebon's peach tart for 900 yen. It's so popular that it sells out quickly, so I went in the afternoon to reserve one and picked it up in the evening. The peach and cream cheese tart has a strong acidity but is delicious. The peach tart in front is sweet and delicious. As expected, the quality of the tart is top-notch from Kilfebon.

I visited in the afternoon on a weekday. I had made a reservation in advance for a cake, and I was able to pick it up right away. It's convenient that you can only make reservations on weekdays. You can always get the tart you want. The Chocolate Mint Tart and Kiwi Apple Mousse Tart were delicious.

Located just a minute's walk from exits 5 or 6 of Ginza 1-chome, this well-known tart shop offers a variety of baked goods. I visited on a weekday evening for a takeout order. They also have a café downstairs for dine-in options. It might get crowded on weekends though. In addition to tarts, they sell baked goods like Baton, a stick-shaped financier, and Pound Cake Baton, a stick-shaped pound cake. I purchased the plain Baton, Earl Grey Baton, and Hazelnut Cookie. The Baton is a moist and slightly fluffy financier in stick form, easy to eat and surprisingly large. The Earl Grey Baton has a subtle Earl Grey flavor with tea leaves mixed in, which is lovely. The cookie was a bit crumbly but delicious with plenty of nuts. I think I'll have to come back for some tarts soon.
