Cafe Hyakumeiten. Ebisu Westin Hotel Viking. Alicool Club Off, advance reservation for 5700 yen → 5,130 yen. On the day, called at 10:30, reserved for 11:30. Hotel buffets have increased in price since the end of Corona and the Goto campaign (lunch was 3500 yen and now it's 4500 yen in the past 3 months), so it's tough out there. But I found a place that has actually become cheaper! Oh, they removed the one drink, right? During the Goto campaign, at The Terrace Lunch Buffet at The Westin Tokyo Ebisu, you could choose one drink included for adults on weekdays for 6,700 yen → 5,500 yen, but on 4/25/2023, The Terrace Lunch Buffet for adults on weekdays was 5,700 yen → 5,130 yen. Since I don't drink much when I go to a hotel buffet because I focus more on eating a variety of dishes, this option seemed better to me. So, after a long time, I went for a hotel buffet. I arrived a little early, got seated, and took some pictures while the place was still beautiful. When I returned to my seat, the staff informed me that coffee, black tea, hojicha, mint tea, etc., were included in the buffet, and it could be hot or cold. Since I only drink black tea or coffee, this was more than enough for me. I told them that I don't drink any drinks until dessert, and they specifically mentioned that the one drink that used to be included was probably alcohol. Well, it's no use thinking about it now, so let's get started with the buffet. First, I started with the appetizers and salads, and there were some stylish appetizers lined up, typical of an Ebisu hotel buffet. The taste was delicious, so I went for seconds. The soups were minced meat cabbage soup and carrot potage, and personally, I found the cabbage soup rich and delicious. Next, I moved on to the main dishes, and they were also delicious. Among them, the recommended items were shumai, made-to-order tantanmen, and pad thai. The tantanmen was recommended by someone in line who said it's better to try it when you come here, and it was indeed delicious. Though I felt the saltiness a bit strong towards the end, so I ate it with rice, along with some shumai, and it made for a delicious mini Chinese set. The pad thai had chewy noodles with wood ear mushrooms, shrimp, and a sweet and spicy sauce, which was a good combination. Adding garlic shrimp (without shells) made it even more delicious. Then, onto the rice and meat section, where they sliced the meat for you. There was beef stroganoff with thin slices of meat instead of roast beef, along with coconut vegetable curry. The curry was slightly spicy and on the sweeter side, with a moderate level of spiciness. I can't remember clearly since it was towards the end, but I think it tasted better when mixed and eaten together. The sliced meat was a bit tough and had some fibers, but it was at a level where you could enjoy it. The lamb had a unique smell, but it was well balanced with the lemongrass and coconut sauce. I added the sauce generously, and when it ran out, I mixed it with the curry and it was just right since the curry was a vegetable curry. Finally, the desserts. All the desserts I took were delicious, like cakes from a cake shop. My favorite was the chocolate cake. There was also ice cream, so I ordered a chocolate & vanilla combo, which was delicious, but since there were mostly chocolate cakes, I should have just gone with vanilla ice cream. The total came to 5,130 yen including tax for table service, and I was able to pay with a card. The salad, Chinese set, and desserts were recommended at this hotel buffet.
