The second item is a morning parfait with melon and panna cotta. It includes melon, panna cotta, pistachio ice cream, crushed pistachios, green tea syrup-soaked savarin, and yogurt. It has a creamy sweetness, nutty sweetness, fruit sweetness, and various other sweetness coming together to create a delicious taste. Each component is rich but leaves a refreshing feeling on the palate. In particular, the panna cotta and pistachio ice cream are so delicious that you would want to buy them separately to take home. It's a happy experience to enjoy a parfait in the morning. #Kyoto #KyotoSightseeing #KyotoGourmet #KyotoSweets #KamigyoWard #KamigyoWardSightseeing #KamigyoWardGourmet #KamigyoWardSweets #SweetsMaking #Sweets #Parfait #MorningParfait #Melon #PannaCotta #Pistachio

Today my wife and I went on a trip to Kyoto. For breakfast, we went to Tsukuru-san. I ordered the open toast with eggs and prosciutto, and a morning parfait (more on that later...). Just look at this overwhelming visual. It's like snow, with a generous amount of cheese sprinkled on top. Light as a feather, bursting with flavor. The toast is super crispy, with just the right amount of olive oil. The prosciutto adds a salty kick, enhancing the flavor of the cheese. The egg, with its half-cooked yolk, adds a creamy touch. #Kyoto #KyotoSightseeing #KyotoGourmet #KyotoBreakfast #Kamigyo-ku #Kamigyo-kuSightseeing #Kamigyo-kuGourmet #Kamigyo-kuBreakfast #Breakfast #OpenToast #Toast #Egg #Prosciutto #Cheese

After a month, I visited Kyoto for a long time. For breakfast, I went to Tsukuru-san, a place I had been wanting to visit for a while. I ordered a hot sandwich with Maribo cheese and ham, lemon scones, and classic pudding. The hot sandwich had crispy toast with cheese flowing like a waterfall, stealing the show. The scones had a rich egg and refreshing lemon flavor, with a perfect mix of crispy and moist textures. The pudding was firm, just the way I like it. The caramel was rich and bitter, the pudding slightly spicy, and the cream and sugar were gently sweet. When eaten together, it was incredibly delicious.

I found it difficult to make a reservation at the dessert-making place I was interested in, so I arrived 30 minutes before the opening time and managed to be the 6th person in line (maximum of 6 people). I was able to enter for the first round, but I wasn't sure what to do for the second round. I ended up waiting while watching the process of making the Live Kitchen parfait. However, the process was simply putting already made components into a dish one by one. To me, it wasn't interesting at all. I thought it was a waste of time for a lemon and citrus parfait (with a drink). The parfait was delicious, but I don't think I'll visit again just to wait for it. Lesson learned.

Anyway, if you want to try takeout, I recommend starting with the Plain Scone for 280 yen! It's on the larger side and when reheated, it's crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The aroma of wheat and sugar is irresistible. The scent of fermented butter is also addictive. It's delicious on its own, but even better with clotted cream and blueberry jam. Unfortunately, the donuts were sold out, so I'm aiming for the parfait next time. The Honey Financier for 250 yen was fluffy but had a coarse texture, not to my liking. It has a hint of honey and spice. I discovered this sweets shop, "Okashi Tsukuru," after having lunch at a nearby cafe called "Sarasa Nishijin." It's about a 4-minute walk from there. I've always been curious about this place. They offer morning and afternoon cafe times for dining in. Their sweets are known for being quite filling, so it's better to have them as a lunch substitute. Today, I only got some baked goods for takeout. I visited around 1:50 PM and there was no line. The shop has only counter seats for 6 people. If you want to enter around 2:15 PM, you need to sign up on the board outside and come back before that time. Payment is cash only. There is no parking available.

This is a shop I had always wanted to visit. I waited about an hour and a half for the snack time to open! I think they can only accommodate around 6 people at a time. I was happy that they served not only parfaits but also some small sweets. The strawberry parfait had unique ingredients like spinach spring rolls and bracken rice cakes, which were new flavors for me!

I have been a fan of this restaurant for a while. I visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast. - Restaurant Atmosphere Located a 5-minute walk from the Kyoto City Bus Kitaoji-Horikawa stop. It is situated a bit south of Imakuma Street, off of Kuramaguchi-dori. When I arrived at 9:05 am, the restaurant was already full, with two people waiting outside. With only 6 seats and a cooking-after-ordering system, it seems common to have to wait in line like this. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we were finally able to get inside. The center of the restaurant features an open kitchen space surrounded by counter seats. Besides me, there were two groups of two and one solo customer. - Menu The restaurant's hours are divided into 8:30-11:00 for breakfast and 13:00-17:00 for snacks. The breakfast menu mainly consists of rice dishes like open toast and hot sandwiches. The drink menu includes coffee, tea, as well as unique options like Yuzu drink and homemade ginger milk. I decided to try the donuts and blended coffee that I had been curious about. - Homemade Donuts (320 yen) When I placed my order, there were already multiple donut ingredients prepared. The staff mentioned that there are two textures available, crispy and fluffy, and I chose the crispy one. A few minutes after ordering, it arrived right after the coffee. The donut was sprinkled with powdered sugar, making it look even more delicious. When I took a bite, the crunchy sugar and sweet aroma filled my mouth. The outside had a crispy texture similar to a cookie, while the inside was soft like bread. I initially thought it might not be enough, but it turned out to be surprisingly filling. Those with a small appetite could probably last until lunch with this. - House Blend Coffee (550 yen) I thought this would be a good pairing with the donut, and I was right. At first sip, it had a strong bitterness, but as I continued to drink, a hint of acidity emerged. However, it was easy to drink, with a refreshing taste. I really enjoyed it and would love to have it again. Overall, I was impressed by the quiet charm of this traditional cafe. It had a more open and bright atmosphere than I expected. I look forward to visiting during snack time next time.

Visited the store on Thursday at 2 pm. There was one person already signed up in the slot for up to 6 people, but there was still availability. Parked at a nearby coin parking and arrived at the store on time. We were promptly seated and placed our order. I chose the strawberry parfait and added a pudding. The staff even kindly mentioned that I could cancel the pudding if I got too full. First, the café latte I ordered arrived. It came in a cute cup, but it was too hot to hold. Next, we were served an appetizer-like dish followed by the main parfait. The parfait, with a carefully calculated level of sweetness that makes you want to keep eating, was unlike any I had tried before. The course cost 2700 yen, which may seem a bit pricey at first glance, but it includes a drink, appetizer, dessert, and the option to add a pudding, making it worth the price. This parfait is not just for show, it's the real deal. I would love to visit again whenever the menu changes.

A little Christmas event by reservation only for three days at Okashi Tsukuru Kyoto. Despite the freezing cold outside, the atmosphere inside was warm and cozy. I was initially rejected but managed to secure a spot through a lucky draw on their Instagram story. The strawberry tart, cheesecake, apple crepe, and cafe latte were all delicious and had a playful twist to them. The strawberry tart, in particular, was a delightful surprise with a unique concept. The apple crepe was warm and comforting, wrapped in a tender crepe with a creamy filling. Each dessert surpassed my expectations and kept me guessing the flavors until the last bite. The surprise element at the end made me realize how children must eagerly anticipate Christmas. It was truly a wonderful Christmas present. #KyotoCafe #KuramaguchiCafe #OkashiTsukuru #LittleChristmas #Strawberry #StrawberryTart #Kyoto #KyotoSightseeing

■A calm cafe where you can enjoy toast, morning sets, and light donuts from 8:30 am. The atmosphere is very nice with the appearance of a Kyoto-style machiya.■Ordered: As it was the first stop on our cafe-hopping adventure, we ordered something light like a morning set.✔Tsukuru's Donut - 320 yen (tax included)Recommended way to eat is to take a big bite as is. The dough is moist with a hint of cinnamon fragrance. It's just the right size for a morning snack.✔Tsukuru's Blend - 550 yen (tax included)Has a refreshing taste that pairs well with the sweetness of the donut. Seems like they also take reservations.

I'm going on a trip❣️ Since my home is deep in the mountains, when I go on a trip, I usually stay overnight in Osaka. I leave early in the morning, take care of some errands in the city of Kyoto, and then head to Osaka via the Kyoto Expressway. At that time, a friend gave me donuts as a souvenir. They said it's delicious here. Do I make them myself⁉️ Do I make them at the end❓ Sugar and other toppings for the donuts come in small packets, so you sprinkle them on before eating. They are delicious❣️ While looking at the spider web visible from the living room window, I thought about how much it has grown since the last time I was here. I'm not good with snakes, but I'm fine with spiders. After eating, I will depart❣️ Since I will have a long drive in a taxi to a station where I don't have to transfer, I might get tired. I usually don't eat solid food for breakfast, but I'll have some sweet donuts to give me energy for the drive. Looking forward to the enjoyable drive.

This is a two-part shop serving breakfast items like toast and pancakes in the morning, as well as snacks like parfaits and Eaton mess. I visited during the morning hours. The interior of the shop, located in a traditional Kyoto townhouse, features a L-shaped counter with 6 seats. In the middle, they prepare items like pancakes and open toast. I ordered the "Baked Donut" for ¥320 and the "House Blend Coffee" for ¥550. The donut is baked in the oven after ordering and served wrapped in paper. They also provide a small fork, but they kindly suggested eating it with your hands. The soft and fluffy dough had a great texture, not too sweet, and I devoured it quickly! I found out that it's made with yeast, which explains its delicious taste. The coffee beans are from Garo-san, and the coffee had a slightly woody aroma with a rich flavor. I also bought some baked goods to go: - Fig and Chai Cake for ¥390: Moist and flavorful cake made with almond powder and yogurt, with a hint of spice and a thin layer of white chocolate on top. - Plain Scone for ¥270: Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, perfect to enjoy as is. - Honey Financier for ¥240: A light and fluffy financier with a delicate texture. The staff at the shop were very friendly, and I enjoyed chatting with them. I would love to visit again to try more of their offerings.

I wanted to go before opening because I heard that orders are made after receiving them, but I arrived late and got there after 9 am. The restaurant was full, with one group waiting. I was seated in less than 30 minutes. The L-shaped counter surrounds the kitchen, and it was enjoyable to watch the process of making the food! I had already decided to order the Open Toast for ¥800 and an Iced Cafe Latte for ¥600. Watching the ingredients being measured and the final dish being prepared made the waiting time fly by. Seeing other people's orders being made also made me want to come back tomorrow. The toast, generously topped with Parmigiano, was a cheese lover's dream. The cafe latte was a bit strong for my taste, but overall, I was very satisfied with the delicious breakfast. They also had baked goods available for takeout at the register. I regret not buying the carrot cake. This cafe is highly recommended for a leisurely morning visit!

The name of the shop is Kurudakara, right? They serve donuts separately from the sugar so you can add your preferred amount and enjoy them. I was out in the city and got back late. From the mountain pass, you can see the city well. A few years ago, you couldn't see it at all, but after a typhoon, all the trees fell down and suddenly, the city lights were so beautiful. I tried to take a picture of the night view but it was a bit blurry. I was backing up and it felt strange. I couldn't get out of the car door - I had to push with my feet. The next day, my back and legs were a bit sprained. It was so scary, but as I remembered it, I ate donuts. It's unrelated, though (sweating).

Unfortunately, it was too crowded to eat inside, so I got some baked goods to go. I tried the Carrot Cake for 370 yen and the Financier for 240 yen. The Financier, with a rich buttery flavor, was small but packed with depth, satisfying my soul with just one piece. The Carrot Cake was also very satisfying. Next time, I hope to dine in!

◆Excellent Dish: Open Toast (Egg and Prosciutto) The open toast (egg and prosciutto) is a delight to behold. A slice of toasted mountain bread in a rich golden hue is topped with a glossy sunny-side-up egg, followed by a generous serving of tender prosciutto, and finished off with a mound of shaved Parmigiano cheese that quickly builds into a towering peak. It's like a Croque Madame, but with a twist - the top layer features cheese instead of the egg, showcasing a unique touch. Watching the preparation unfold in the lively open kitchen adds to the enjoyment. As for the taste, it's as delightful as it looks - the crispy yet fluffy mountain bread, the rich and creamy egg yolk with the salty prosciutto, and the fluffy Parmigiano cheese with a milky umami flavor. It was truly a morning of glorious delight. ◆Menu for Today - Open Toast (Egg and Prosciutto) - Lemon Cake from Ikuchijima - Tsukuru Blend Coffee (Morning) Price: 1670 yen per person ◆How to Enjoy this Cafe This popular cafe is housed in a renovated Kyoto townhouse. They offer a morning menu from 8:30 focused on meals, as well as a dessert menu from 13:00 featuring baked goods, pudding, parfaits, and more. The cafe opened in June 2021. ◆Order Details The Open Toast (Egg and Prosciutto) was 750 yen, the Lemon Cake from Ikuchijima was 370 yen, and the Tsukuru Blend Coffee was 550 yen. ◆Source Information sourced from tetsuya_ao2's Instagram account. I had breakfast at this place. The exterior, interior, and food were all wonderful. Since I don't get to come here often, I decided to be a little greedy and ordered pancakes, open toast, donuts, and blended coffee. I was advised to have the donuts last as they can be taken home, so I ended up taking them home with a very full stomach. Next time, I will visit with my daughters!

I visited on a Sunday morning (^_^) It's about a 15-minute walk from Karasuma Line "Kurama-guchi" station. The exterior is a traditional Kyoto townhouse with a nice atmosphere (*^^) The side facing the street is made of glass, so you can see inside the restaurant. The restaurant opens at 8:30, but when I arrived around 8:45, it was already full (._.) There are only 8 seats originally, and due to COVID measures, they leave one seat empty between groups, so it fills up quickly. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I was able to enter the restaurant around 9:15. The interior has an open kitchen, and you can see the cooking process, which is enjoyable♪ The simple decor with wooden tables and chairs gives a warm feeling (*^_^*) Ordered items: - Hotcakes (with 5 strawberries) ¥1,600 (Breakdown: Plain 800 yen + 5 strawberries 800 yen) - Tsukuru Blend ¥550 The staff, a couple perhaps, with the man cooking and the woman making drinks. With many orders for hotcakes, 3 out of the 4 burners were being used for them (^^) It was cool to see them adjusting the position of the frying pans to check the cooking progress. The hotcakes were thick and fluffy, not dry, just the right amount of sweetness with syrup. Delicious (*´ω`*) My partner ordered plain, but I went for the strawberry topping, which added a nice touch! The strawberries were sweet and tasty (^^) Having 5 instead of 3 really made a difference! A kind thank you from the staff for waiting in the cold. Both of them had a gentle and soft demeanor (^^) As we left, there were 3 people waiting, and a sign saying they were sold out (around 9:55). If you want to have breakfast, I recommend coming early. I would like to visit again for a snack next time (*^^*) Thank you for the meal♪

It's not crispy, but moist. I prefer crispy, but this moist one was also delicious. Matcha shortbread with simple ingredients and a hint of salt from the Grand. It has an adult taste. The raisin chai cookies spread the scent of black tea as soon as you eat them. Delicious! I have to go buy these at the store! A while ago, a friend who used to live nearby moved to another neighborhood. Sometimes she delivers pesticide-free apples and oranges that she buys collectively. Since she's often not home, I left the oranges by the bike next to the entrance. It looked like a Santa's bag in the bike basket, an unexpected Christmas present! I ate them right away. And on Christmas day, a card arrived promptly. Thank you, Hydrangea. This year, I saw plenty of Mt. Fuji in February and November. I saw cherry blossoms blooming, cranes flying, and Santa's sleigh on snowy Mt. Fuji. There were also swans swimming. I wanted to share this card, so I hurried to write a review.

Breakfast and snack shop. I originally planned to have breakfast, but ended up going for snacks in the afternoon due to a late dinner reservation. The shop does not take reservations, so I had to wait a bit. It's counter seating only, and they seem to strictly rotate customers in and out, though I'm not sure if it's always like that. When I arrived around 1:30, I was told the next available time was at 2:00, so I could either come back then or wait on the bench outside. Snack time starts at 1:00, but it seems they may close early on some days, so it's best to check their Instagram. It's counter seating only, and they operate on a one-order per person system, including children using seats. Prices range from 1,300 to 2,800 yen, and each order comes with two drinks. I had the classic pudding with a choice of one baked confection for 1,400 yen, while my companion had the sweet potato chestnut for 2,800 yen. There are 8 drink options to choose from, such as homemade ginger ale, carbonated blend coffee, etc. We were served some taro, figs, and dates as a small appetizer. While sipping our drinks, we watched as our snacks were prepared. I had a firm pudding and a canelé for my snack, while my companion had a parfait with sweet potato chestnut. It was huge! I couldn't finish it. Lastly, we were served freshly fried potato chips sprinkled with plum and Rausu salt. Sweet and salty is the best combination. If you have a sweet tooth, this place is a must-visit.
