I visited Jean-Paul Hévin Tokyo Midtown store in Minato-ku, Akasaka, Tokyo. It is located on the B1F of Tokyo Midtown Galleria, just a minute walk from Roppongi Station Exit 8 on the Toei Oedo Line, or through the underground passage from Roppongi Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. The store is also accessible from Nogizaka Station Exit 3 on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line, or a 10-minute walk from Roppongi-itchome Station Exit 1 on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line. With a shared facility parking lot available, it is convenient for those arriving by car. The store has a luxurious and calm atmosphere, with 30 seats including 10 counter seats and 20 table seats. I purchased the Bonbon Chocolat 6-piece Mitiqé (2992 yen) this time. It is a limited-time assortment of 6 Bonbon Chocolat including 5 chocolates. The chocolates included are Kalibe, Panse, Cool Noir Rouge 2023, JPH Nougat Noir, Papillon, and Cool Le Rose 2023. Each chocolate has a delicate and exquisite taste that showcases the dedication to quality. The packaging has a sophisticated color scheme and a sense of luxury, suitable for various occasions. Jean-Paul Hévin is a world-class chocolatier with numerous accolades such as winning international competitions and the prestigious French MOF title. Their chocolates are like works of art, born from a commitment to ingredients, innovative and playful creativity, and impeccable skills. The "Cave à Chocolat" showcases gem-like Bonbon Chocolat kept at the ideal temperature, while the "Bar à Chocolat" allows you to enjoy chocolate pairings with drinks. I look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you!

There is a shop in the underground of Tokyo Midtown. On this day, it was unusually rainy and cold outside, so I felt like having a warm hot chocolate drink. I ordered a set of Chocolat Chocolatier and Matcha Marron cake. When the drink was brought to me, the chocolate aroma wafted gently and I felt incredibly happy. When I tasted it, it was at the perfect temperature and the rich chocolate aroma spread throughout my mouth. It had just the right amount of adult sweetness and was delicious until the end. The Matcha Marron cake had a gentle matcha mousse that paired well with the chocolate. I would like to come back again and enjoy it slowly. Thank you very much! :)

I like the chocolate ice cream here and I go specifically for that. I like to have it with cream and chocolate sauce. It's milk chocolate ice cream. They also have bitter chocolate, but I haven't tried it yet. Midtown is very popular, especially the ice cream shop, so even in the evening, there's a wait. Everyone must be here for the ice cream. I want to try the ice too, but crowded places are a bit of a turn off. It's best to come here. Chocolate ice cream in the middle of summer is the best. I prefer regular iced tea as a drink, but they don't have it here. They have an orange-spiced iced tea, which I can't really enjoy. I hope they improve this. I also tried the chocolate cake. It was okay, but it's a pretty common taste.

Stopped at the Jean-Paul Hévin café in front of the store and decided to enter as there was no wait. Sat at a high table at the back of the restaurant, which was moderately busy. Opted for the Merveille Mariage de Thé et Ananas set for ¥1650, which included a drink and cake. The cold chocolate drink was served in a champagne glass and had a bitter cocoa flavor with a hint of alcohol-like aroma. The limited-time cake, with layers of chocolate mousse sandwiched between pineapple, had a good balance of acidity and sweetness, making it delicious. While I had been to Alain Ducasse in Roppongi before, I found the Jean-Paul Hévin chocolate mousse and drink set to be a better deal for the same price as Alain's chocolate mousse alone.

You can choose one drink from all drinks, including chocolate drink, and two macarons from all macarons in a set. I chose the basic Chocolat Chocolat macaron and Pistachio. Despite looking overly sweet at first glance, they are actually delicious and disappear quickly. They have a good scent and light flavor, so chocolate lovers should definitely try them.

I needed a souvenir from this shop in Tokyo Midtown, so I bought a cake for home as well. I tried the eclair (3.5) and the chocolate cake (3.5), both were delicious. However, the eclair had more than half of it sticking out from the paper, which was a bit concerning. It was slightly disappointing that this caught my attention before the taste.

In Roppongi Midtown in June 2023, there are various delicious dessert shops to choose from, making it difficult to decide. The heavy glass door leads to a café on the right and a shop on the left. On this day, I purchased three pieces of Gâteau for takeout, and the high quality of the chocolate stood out. The box and paper bag are chic and stylish. Macarons and chocolates are very expensive but perfect for gifts, although they are limited to those who know the brand. Guayaquil - 793 yen: A combination of cocoa biscuit and chocolate mousse. Chocolat Framboises - 793 yen: Cocoa mousse with raspberry jelly. Verrine Chocolat Café - 847 yen: Cream with coffee and cocoa mousse.

This shop is known for its high-quality chocolate macarons! The macarons here are exceptional and delicious. I prefer the milk-based chocolates here that are not overly modified.

There is no photo because I couldn't resist taking a bite of the macaron placed in front of me. The Midtown store always seems to be full, but on this day, I was the only one inside. I ordered the caramel and pistachio macarons. They were filled with a moist ganache sandwiched between meringue shells, allowing me to indulge in a luxurious treat with just two macarons.

My mother-in-law's 26th death anniversary. We visited her grave in Roppongi with my father-in-law, son, and his family, totaling 6+1 people. Afterward, we parked at Midtown and had a reservation for lunch. We enjoyed the classic Guayaquil, Pyramid, Tonka, and Re desserts, along with seasonal limited edition Mont Blanc, Macaron Chocolat, and Longchamp Chocolat to go. We ate them at my father-in-law's house and they were all incredibly delicious, especially the chocolate cakes. The Mont Blanc was the only one without chocolate but it was also very tasty. The total cost for the six desserts was 4594 yen.

I was craving chocolate, so I came to "JEAN-PAUL HÉVIN" in Tokyo Midtown. Since this store has a cafe space, I couldn't resist trying the Chocolat Chaud and Petit Gateau. I chose the "Chocolat Chaud Parisien" which is a very simple and classic hot chocolate. It has a rich milk flavor with a hint of chocolate aroma, very smooth and easy to drink. The staff poured me the first cup, which was about two servings. The additional Chantilly cream was thick and perfect for cream lovers.

On Saturday around 3 pm, I lined up with about 5 people ahead of me and waited for about 30 minutes to be seated. I ordered the macaron shell sandwiched with chocolate, and also ordered a chocolate drink. The rich chocolate was very delicious!

I visited around 3 pm on a holiday. There were three groups ahead of me, so I had to wait for about 10-15 minutes before entering.
◎Longchamp Chocolat Le (cake) - A cake with almond and hazelnut cream, meringue, and coated with milk chocolate with roasted almonds.
◎JPH Melange (tea) - An original blend of tea with a base of Ceylon tea and a blend of fragrant Lovsanctuary. The cake is on the sweet side. The tea has a distinctive aroma, which paired excellently with the chocolate.

I went to the Jean-Paul Hevin cafe in Roppongi, Tokyo Midtown. It was a relaxing atmosphere on a weekday night, and we were seated at a table right away. I ordered the Dome Chocolat Framboise Chocolat Peru. The Dome Chocolat Framboise is a limited-time dessert that is made by the pastry chef after you order. It consists of raspberry mousse on a sablé base, surrounded by spiral-shaped cocoa mousse, with raspberry confiture on top. The cocoa mousse is soft and slightly bitter with a fruity flavor. The raspberry mousse inside is slightly firmer than the surrounding mousse and has a strong sweet and sour raspberry taste. The raspberry confiture on top is quite tangy. There are also cocoa nibs for a crunchy texture. I also ordered the Chocolat Show Peru drink set, which requires an additional charge. It has a soft fruity aroma, a classic taste, and a hint of sweetness.

Chocolate shop. The chocolate macarons are delicious, so I always eat them during Valentine's season. I wonder how many times I've repeated this. Macaron 8 pieces (2916 yen): Each macaron has a rich chocolate ganache filling sandwiched between a chewy shell with a distinct flavor. Despite their small size, they have a strong presence that makes you keep eating one after another. Amel: Bitter chocolate. Normandy: Milk chocolate with added fleur de sel (salt) for a caramel-like flavor. Vanilla: Good vanilla flavor in white chocolate. Matcha: Strong matcha flavor in white chocolate. Framboise: Cocoa flavor with raspberry. Caramel: Caramel almond nougatine. Pistachio: Pistachio-flavored praline with dark chocolate. Fraise: Light lime scent with strawberry and white chocolate. I will definitely repeat this again.

I received this as a birthday gift from a friend! I had only bought chocolates before, but this was my first time trying macarons! I'm not sure what flavors they are, but they are sweet, yet relatively not too sweet. I feel like I could easily eat a lot of them...haha. I would like to try their cakes if I have the chance, and also visit their cafe.

Jean-Paul Hévin Tokyo Midtown Store was one of the participating restaurants in GoToEat Tokyo, so I went there to buy Valentine's chocolate for my husband. However, they only accepted eat-in orders and not take-out, so I ended up buying chocolate for myself and leaving disappointed. The showcase had beautifully shining chocolates and macarons that I wanted to try, but they were quite expensive. It was my first time purchasing, so I asked the staff for their recommended menu, and they introduced me to "Trois Oranges" and "Saphir." I decided to buy the Saphir for 378 yen. It was described as "crispy feuilletine with almonds and hazelnuts coated in milk chocolate." I sat on a bench in Midtown and tried it immediately. It had a melting texture with almonds and nuts as accents, and it was delicious. However, as a commoner, I thought, "It's tasty but expensive. I can't really see the value in just one piece... It didn't quite blow me away." What stood out to me more than the taste was the customer service. Despite only buying one piece, the staff kindly handed me the product, saying, "This is a popular item among our staff." Truly top-notch service from a high-end store... I noticed there was a line forming outside. Perhaps for infection prevention? It seems like they also have entry restrictions in place.

On this day, I had hot chocolate and three types of chocolate. The cute Valentine's Day design made my heart flutter! The hot chocolate had a clean and refreshing taste, not too heavy, and went down smoothly. However, it also left a satisfying feeling after drinking it, and it was very delicious.

I received a Valentine's Day limited sweet! Inside the chocolate cream is raspberry mousse. The combination of the richness and sweetness of the chocolate cream with the acidity of the raspberry was exquisite. Although it was a good size for sharing, I ended up eating it all by myself. There were about 2-3 groups lining up even on a weekday afternoon, so it seems better to visit with some extra time. Aoi, which is different from the usual, is a great place.

I visited the Jean-Paul Hévin Tokyo Midtown store for the first time on my way to a Jazztronik live performance at Billboard Tokyo. Despite a line of about 10 people, I was able to enter immediately for takeout. The sophisticated customer service made me feel like I had become a celebrity. With the help of the staff, I chose Framboise Pistachio, Normandy Vanilla, and Amelie Noir for my daughter who loves macarons. After enjoying the live performance, I stopped by to pick up the items and received a comment asking how the show was, which was very thoughtful. The macarons had a shelf life of 5 days, but we finished them in 3 days. They were delicious, each with a unique texture and flavor. I particularly liked the Framboise flavor for its refreshing aftertaste. The cakes and Bonbons Chocolat also looked delicious, so I will definitely be visiting this shop again.

Tokyo Midtown's Jean-Paul Hevin has a store with a deep layout, but since it also offers eat-in options, the sales space is not very large. The product range is almost the same at all branches and is relatively wide.
Items purchased (including tax):
- Pyramid (756 yen) ☆×3.9
Composition: Chocolate biscuit, ganache with cognac
The chocolate is the main focus and does not waver. The chocolate cream is bitter and sophisticated, but flows lightly due to its moisture content. The chocolate biscuit contains pistachios and has a simple and delicious taste. The ability to create multiple unique chocolate cakes by using different types of cocoa is impressive.
- Tonka (778 yen) ☆×3.6
Composition: Tonka bean cream, Christian, nougat, chocolate mousse, biscuit
The tonka bean cream has a smooth texture and a rounded flavor, while the Venezuelan chocolate mousse has a clean taste. However, the tonka bean flavor is slightly overshadowed by the strong taste and texture of the Christian and nougat. Good individually, but the harmony is lacking.
Other items:
- Douja Pistachio (756 yen) ☆×4.0
- Guayaquil (756 yen) ☆×3.9
- Chocolat Framboises (778 yen) ☆×3.9
- Mont Blanc (756 yen) ☆×3.8
The cake shops in Tokyo Midtown are not bad, but lack decisive power, so Roppongi Hills is usually preferred, resulting in fewer visits. It would be nice to revisit if there is an opportunity. Overall rating: 3.8 → 3.8 (no change)
