I had a very good customer service experience when I visited after the daytime business hours in the past. I think it was the female manager. I remembered that, so this time I made a reservation and visited with my wife. The welcome drink at the beginning was good, but the service afterwards felt a bit inexperienced. We ordered a la carte out of curiosity, and the flavors were gentle. I left the restaurant feeling like it would have been even better if the staff had presented the dishes and drinks with their own voices.

Located a little east of Karasuma and Takakura, Junmai Sake Kasu Tamano Hikari is a cozy spot. The second floor, with its exposed beams, has been renovated to create a clean and inviting atmosphere. We had reserved the premium all-you-can-drink option with sake kasu oden course. Ordering drinks is done through a QR code, which is quite modern. Despite booking the course well in advance, they were out of ramen for the finale... which was a bit disappointing, but we shrugged it off with a smile. This place would be perfect for those who are knowledgeable about sake.

I visited this restaurant based on the recommendation of a friend who loves sake. The elegant and calm interior created a wonderful atmosphere for an adult lunch. The staff were very polite and gentle, making me feel warm and welcome. The lunch menu consists of plate lunches with 12 different dishes to sample, which was just the right amount. The sake we ordered was very easy to drink and delicious. It had a taste similar to wine, with not only sweetness but also a hint of acidity, which I enjoyed. The glassware was also very cute. The rice in the clay pot was delicious on its own for the first serving, and then could be enjoyed as ochazuke for the second serving, offering double the enjoyment. I had never tried sake rice before, so it was a good experience to taste it. The dessert, a financier, allowed me to savor the sake lees until the end, which was very satisfying. I look forward to visiting again at night for a more leisurely experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ^^

I visited a restaurant that serves sake kasu (sake lees) dishes, run by Tamano Hikari Sake Brewery in Fushimi. I tried their lunch menu, which consists of a plate lunch that changes monthly. For an additional 330 yen, you can get the "recommended sake by the manager" (a glass), which turned out to be a limited edition junmai ginjo sake called "Sake Konbu Shibori". The meal started with a welcome drink of sweet sake. The plate lunch had 12 dishes lined up, which seemed appealing to women but was enjoyable even for a sake-loving man like me. Not all dishes were sake kasu-based, some were just dressed or sauced with sake kasu, but the ones that stood out as sake kasu dishes were the "Sake Kasu Oden with Thick Fried Tofu", "Ebisu Pumpkin with Sake Kasu Pickles", "Salmon with Sake Kasu Miso Yuzu Sauce", and "Sake Kasu Quiche". The "Sake Kasu Potage" was unexpectedly delicious, with a rich miso soup-like flavor, which was probably my favorite. The rice was a pot rice with octopus and edamame, and there was enough for two servings, so I enjoyed the second serving as ochazuke. I later found out that the rice used was "Omachi" sake rice, which if I had known earlier, I would have appreciated more.

I visited the store owned by Mr. Tamano Hikari and had lunch. I was expecting a stronger sake lees flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised by the colorful plate with small portions of vegetables and meat that were delicious. It was a perfect plate for lunch. The sake-infused financier for dessert was also delicious, and I think it would make a great souvenir.

I visited for lunch. The restaurant, set in a traditional Japanese house, has high ceilings and spacious seating, creating a calming atmosphere. It is directly managed by Tamanoi Sake Brewery in Fushimi. I had the vegetable, meat, koji, and pure rice sake lees plate lunch. Honestly, I'm not a fan of sake lees, but everything that came out was delicious. The sake lees potage in particular was exquisite. I had a preconception that I didn't like lees soup, but this was really delicious. The ingredients change every month, and in April, it was cherry sea bream. The clay pot rice with cherry sea bream and bamboo shoots was so good that I couldn't resist getting seconds, and for the second serving, I poured dashi broth over it. I received a souvenir at the end of the meal and left fully satisfied. I would love to go back again.

Vegetables, meat, koji, and pure rice sake lees plate lunch for 2500 yen. It was a place that appeared on TV. Since it's a restaurant that makes sake, the sake lees were the main ingredient. Each dish was delicious! Considering the cost-performance based on the dishes alone, it's okay, but the atmosphere was nice. You can only stay for an hour and a half, so you can't relax!

Oden had a unique taste with a hint of sake lees but a refreshing aftertaste, which was a completely satisfying experience. Other dishes also paired well with sake lees and were deliciously prepared. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendly staff make it highly recommended for everyone!

This is my second visit to this restaurant, and once again, it did not disappoint. For an additional 330 yen, I tried the recommended sake by the manager, and it was generously poured. I was satisfied ♡ The staff were just as friendly as last time. I was happy when they noticed that the broth for my ochazuke had cooled down and kindly replaced it with a warm one. I stayed until right before closing time for lunch, but they didn't show any signs of annoyance, which I appreciated. I will definitely go back.

I visited the restaurant after watching a TV show featuring Kunihiro Mitamura. I wanted to try the sake lees oden, but unfortunately, it was only available at night. The lunch menu seems to consist of plates that change monthly. The sake lees flavor is not too strong, so it seems like something the whole family can enjoy.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of fermented dishes available, which exceeded my expectations. The lunch dessert, a financiers, was packed in a sealed container, making it convenient for takeout. There was a wide selection of interesting Japanese sake available, including one made by a debutant brewer which was excellent. However, I felt that the staff could have done a better job of highlighting these unique offerings without me having to ask. It's a shame to not showcase such rare sake from a reputable brewery.

I visited this restaurant for a lunch year-end party with friends. The restaurant opened in April this year and is very beautiful, stylish, and has a Kyoto-like atmosphere with a small garden. They have a separate room that can accommodate six or more people. The main obanzai plate was delicious. My favorite was the cheese made with sake lees, which is also available for purchase in the store. The sake lees potage was amazing, with a strong flavor that made me want to have seconds. The clay pot rice (with yellowtail) and the Financier cake at the end were also excellent. The staff were very kind, making it a great lunch year-end party. I want to invite other friends and go back again.

Amazake or sake is served first. We had junmai daiginjo sake on this day. Orders are placed by scanning a QR code. We ordered four dishes for two people. The sake kasu oden has delicious broth. The ginger tempura has a strong ginger aroma and I would definitely like to have more of it next time. The sea bream carpaccio is beautiful and delicious. The octopus and tomato dish has a nice balance of acidity and crispy watercress. The beef fillet with sake kasu butter is almost ready when served on a small stove. It's juicy and hot. The restaurant is clean, and the staff's smiles and greetings are very good. I definitely want to visit again.

The mixed rice was delicious, and we enjoyed the second serving with dashi tea pickles. The dashi broth is delicious and comforting. As a lover of sake lees, I was very satisfied with this lunch.

They also sell delicious alcohol at the store. Why not enjoy a nice lunch while buying some good alcohol? By the way... the number of women was abnormally high, embarrassing for the men.

On Friday at 11:30, I visited "Junmai Sake Kasu Tamano Hikari" in Shijo. This place is a new venture by the sake brewery "Tamano Hikari" in Fushimi, Kyoto, using sake kasu. They use the sake kasu produced during the making of junmai sake to create sweets and dishes. I purchased the "Nihonshu-infused Sake Kasu Financier (270 yen)" and the "Junmai Sake Kasu Amazake with Salt Flavor (500 yen)" from the "Muku Series". I tried the Nihonshu-infused Sake Kasu Financier and it was delicious. It was incredibly moist and the scent of sake spread as soon as I opened it. I also tried the Junmai Sake Kasu Amazake with Salt Flavor and it was tasty. It had a subtle sake kasu aroma and a strong sake kasu flavor, but it was not overpowering, probably because it was made by a traditional Kyoto confectionery that specializes in making Kyoto amazake. This is a new initiative by the sake brewery in Fushimi. I definitely want to support them. Thank you for the meal.

Tamano Hikari Sake Brewery's direct-operated restaurant, Tamano Hikari, located a 3-minute walk from Shijo Station in Kyoto Fushimi. Lunch starts with a cup of sweet sake, making it a slightly luxurious experience. In the evening, you can enjoy sake kasu oden and various dishes, along with Tamano Hikari Sake Brewery's Junmai Ginjo sake. I visited for dinner. This oden restaurant opened in April 2022. The interior is new and clean. The location was a bit hard to find. I got lost on the way here. This place is famous for its sake kasu oden. I started with the classics - daikon radish, potatoes, beef tendon, eggs, thick fried tofu, etc. I ordered using a mobile order system, which was new to me. Despite being called sake kasu oden, the taste was definitely oden. It didn't have a strong sake smell like sake lees soup, so even those who don't like it should be okay. As it is a direct-operated store of Tamano Hikari, a sake brewery in Kyoto, they mainly offer Tamano Hikari sake. They also have various side dishes and sake pairings, so I thoroughly enjoyed everything. I would like to come back again. Thank you for the meal.
