Today, I went to a restaurant called "Shogetsu" in Kawaramachi after work. They specialize in okonomiyaki and have three branches in Ichijoji, Fukakusa, and Kawaramachi. The restaurant has a spacious interior with booth seating. I ordered the pork okonomiyaki for 1080 yen, which was topped with mayonnaise and sauce. The cabbage was cut into thick slices and cooked to be airy, resembling the style from Tsukishima. The freshly boiled egg noodles had a nice aroma, and the crispy texture added a delicious flavor. I recommend trying the modern style. I also ordered the baby star corn monja for 990 yen as a side dish for drinks. The staff cooked it for us, so we could enjoy it without any worries. It was a flavorful dish with sakura shrimp and baby star crisps. It felt like a taste of the downtown area. It's interesting to see more okonomiyaki restaurants offering monja in Kyoto. I paid at the last order time and left the restaurant.

Unfortunately, I can only go during the day because of the timing (cries). They are open for lunch on weekends (sometimes closed for events), so I use it quite often. They offer okonomiyaki and teppanyaki, and they also have monjayaki, which is not very common in Kansai (but I haven't tried it). I don't have a photo this time, but I love their yakisoba! The noodles are thick and chewy, giving it a satisfying and delicious taste!

Here too, despite the delicious food, there was no waiting customers probably because the store is located on the second floor! Even on holidays when I have to work (--), I had seen long lines on weekends so I left home early today, and had okonomiyaki for lunch (only open on weekends and holidays from noon). Personally, I like the yakisoba here (^^) The thick and chewy noodles are delicious! I usually don't like thick noodles at other restaurants. This time, I had the "Hiroshima-style" okonomiyaki. While waiting for it to cook, I also had "shabu-shabu pork salad" and "salt-grilled tongue sole". The shabu-shabu pork salad... was different from what I had imagined. It was sliced cabbage topped with pork and a slightly sour sauce that seemed to have lemon in it. It was warm, not cold like I had expected. It was different from what I had in mind, but it was delicious. The Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki... after it was cooked, they brought it to the table and topped it with mayonnaise, sauce, and bonito flakes in front of me. The noodles and batter were delicious! On the table, there were sweet sauce, spicy sauce, and seaweed flakes. You can add more to your liking.

I visited on October 3, 2015. The restaurant is very spacious and lively. They have a wide variety of menu options, and you can enjoy delicious okonomiyaki. They also have a large chunk of steak that is perfect for Instagram. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely come back. I will eat with gratitude for all the ingredients in this world. I'm calling all the delicious foods♪ The more I eat, the more power overflows♪

I visited this restaurant for the first time on August 15, 2015. It was a two-person drinking session with a long-time friend. We ordered monjayaki, which was very delicious. It was the best monjayaki I've ever had. It was filled with plenty of cabbage, making me feel healthy. We also had plenty of drinks and had a great time. It's a fantastic restaurant with a lively atmosphere. I have visited a few times since then. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely go back. I will eat with gratitude for all the ingredients in this world. Calling all the delicious food♪ The more I eat, the more power overflows♪

I had some errands in Kawaramachi and was looking for a restaurant near the station, so I decided to try a teppanyaki place. I ordered the Monja, which I hadn't had since I last visited Tsukishima, along with a few other dishes. I made a reservation online, so they asked if I wanted to order drinks as well. Here is what I ordered:
- Mentaiko Cheese Monja (1150 yen): I'm not very good at making Monja myself, so I asked the staff to do it. It thickened as they mixed it, and it was best when slightly burnt. The mentaiko flavor was strong and it was very delicious.
- Hormone Mix (Tare) (630 yen): It had various parts of the hormone, but the tare sauce was the highlight. The hormone was delicious.
- Salt-grilled Beef Tendon (550 yen): Squeeze some lemon on it for a refreshing taste.
- Tecchan (Miso Sauce) (570 yen): The Tecchan itself was small, but it was flavorful and went well with the miso sauce. It was served with bean sprouts, making me crave rice.
- Salt-grilled Yakisoba (Regular) (680 yen): Made with thick egg noodles, it had a chewy texture and a refreshing taste with cabbage, pork, and pickled ginger. It also had squid in it.
- Ginger Ale (250 yen)
- Mountain Grape Soda (420 yen)
It seemed like they had more reservations for dinner than for lunch, so it was not crowded when I went in the early afternoon. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The butter-grilled prawns, the "shogatsu-yaki", and the mentaiko monjayaki were all incredibly delicious!

We had monjayaki and a huge piece of meat together. The meat was very big and satisfying to eat, with great value for the price.

Today, when it comes to okonomiyaki, this is always my first choice restaurant. The staff are friendly, and each table is separated by partitions, so you can relax and enjoy your okonomiyaki. They also make monja for you. There are many other dishes available, and the garlic stir-fry seems like it would be effective for summer fatigue!

This place offers delicious okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and speedy menu items at a great price! The most recommended dish is the yakisoba. It has thick noodles that are chewy and very tasty. The flavors available are sauce, salt, spicy curry, and they are all delicious. Additionally, there is a huge steak available with advance reservation. They cook it right in front of you on a hot plate, which makes for a fun dining experience with friends. There is also a wide variety of monjayaki options, so you won't get tired of coming here every day.

I visited the company's banquet. We were seated in the back as a group, and we had the Thick Cut Steak Course for 2980 yen. The drinks were not included, but the restaurant kindly offered us unlimited soft drinks for an additional 700 yen. I ordered Sprite, which brought back childhood memories. It tasted sweeter than I remembered, a reminder of how I've grown up. The course included pork shabu salad, thick cut steak, vegetable stir-fry, scallop butter sauté, and yakisoba or okonomiyaki. The pork shabu salad was refreshing with a lot of shiso leaves. The main course, the thick cut steak, was impressive and left us speechless. However, the wait for it to cook was long, and the next dish didn't arrive until it was done. But when it was finally served, the staff sliced it in front of us, like a high-end teppanyaki restaurant. The rare steak was worth the wait and absolutely delicious. The vegetable stir-fry and scallop butter sauté followed, serving as a nice break before we indulged in the steak. Just when we thought we were full, the yakisoba was served, and surprisingly, everyone dug in, including the ladies. We ended the meal with a choice of modanyaki or okonomiyaki, and we chose the modanyaki. It was our first time trying it, and we enjoyed experimenting with different ways to eat it. By the end, we were pleasantly full. I would like to go back to try their a la carte dishes and okonomiyaki next time.

After a business trip to Osaka, I met up with my cousin in Kyoto at Shijo Kawaramachi. We went bowling at Round One and played at the arcade until after 6:00 PM. I felt too lazy to go back to Tokyo, so my cousin, his wife, and I decided to visit this restaurant. We felt like eating okonomiyaki suddenly, so we ordered three okonomiyaki and two plates of soba noodles. The restaurant was called "Shogetsu-yaki" and the portions were generous. The food we ordered was all delicious, and there were no disappointments. However, it was a bit disappointing that even though we pressed the button for service, the staff didn't come right away. The quality of service can affect the overall experience, so be careful! We ate quite a bit and the total bill for the three of us was around 10,000 yen (we only had 4 drinks in total).

My wife and I had dinner together. We wanted to eat meat and flour dishes. However, it seems that the recent trend of okonomiyaki is like this. Soft and with plenty of mayonnaise. It's delicious, but I miss the old days when it was filled with lots of cabbage, fluffy, and had a good texture. The oysters were delicious.
