About 1km from Tsukuba Express Rokumachi Station, located along Hanahata Ohashi Street after turning from the intersection of Koshichihara-cho on the Koshichihara-dori, this restaurant offers parking for 11 cars about 170m away on the back street. There are coin parking lots nearby with rates ranging from 200 yen for 30 minutes to 330 yen for 60 minutes. The interior of the restaurant has a counter with 15-16 seats and 4 table seats. Orders are taken verbally and payment is made after the meal. I ordered the ramen (800 yen) with soft noodles. The soup is a rich and flavorful tonkotsu broth, with a good balance of different pork bone flavors. The thin straight noodles are easy to slurp and have a nice texture and flavor. The pork belly chashu is well-seasoned and smoked, providing a satisfying chewiness. The wood ear mushrooms add a nice crunch, and as a person from the west, I appreciated the green onions. I look forward to visiting again late at night.

Yesterday's ramen was unsatisfying and lacking in flavor, so after playing tennis, I hopped on my bike and headed to the shop. I usually order the regular ramen. This shop's soup can vary from day to day, with different levels of richness. Today's ramen was a hit - just the right balance. It was amazing. And to top it off, they offer one free extra serving of noodles for just 820 yen. Recently, I went to another shop where a regular bowl of ramen cost 900 yen. The appeal of other shops just doesn't compare to the greatness of Tanaka Shouten. It's a good thing Tanaka isn't near my house, or my blood pressure would be through the roof. I'm already looking forward to my next visit next month!

I went to the delicious ramen shop "Tanaka Shoten Main Store", which has been selected as one of the top 100 ramen shops, located a 13-minute walk from Rokucho Station (TX) A1 exit. The shop only operates at night (18:00 to 4:00) and does not serve lunch, so I finally had the opportunity to visit. I arrived at 19:36 and was prepared to wait in line, but the spacious interior with 16 counter seats and 20 table seats allowed me to enter smoothly. I ordered the ⭐️ Char Siu Ramen for 1,250 yen, with extra toppings. The soup is made from boiling pork bones from head to toe for 3 days. You can see the pork bones simmering in a large pot from the counter. The noodles are thin, curly noodles directly imported from Fukuoka. The toppings include char siu, green onions, wood ear mushrooms, and seaweed. The seaweed has words of gratitude and thanks written in multiple languages. Red pickled ginger and pickled mustard greens are provided on the table. The overall quality was high and very delicious.

It was delicious... just delicious. I also ordered extra noodles, but they might have been a little softer. There were counter and table seats, and when I went late at night, I didn't have to wait long to be seated. It's usually crowded during the day, so going late at night might be a good idea.

Negi Chashu Ramen (Barikata) 1350 yen
Seasoned egg 150 yen x 2
Korean-style mentaiko rice 300 yen
Red minced meat 200 yen
Extra noodles (Barikata) 170 yen x 3, free x 1
This time, I'll keep it simple since it's a revisit. The rich tonkotsu soup was a hit this time. The thick tonkotsu broth was exactly what I was hoping for. While I think the thin tonkotsu soup is more common here, personally, I prefer this rich, thick broth. I also tried the red minced meat topping for the first time this time. It's basically ground meat mixed with spices like sansho pepper and pressed into a solid form. There's a specific way to eat it - you dissolve the red minced meat in a separate bowl with some soup, dip the noodles in the red minced meat soup, and enjoy it like tsukemen style. It was really delicious. The alternating spiciness from the spices and sweetness from the minced meat made for a fantastic topping. I regret not trying it sooner. I definitely want to order the red minced meat topping again.

Ramen Tokyo Hyakumeiten is the pinnacle of Hakata ramen in Tokyo. I arrived at 8:30 PM and it had the longest line I've ever seen. It was a cultural experience with people of all ages enjoying ramen until morning. I opted for a table and waited 50 minutes until my bowl arrived. The taste was consistently the best with tonkotsu ramen, seasoned egg, and extra noodles. This place sets a high standard for Hakata ramen in Tokyo. Thank you for the meal.

Even though it's a chain restaurant, I think this tonkotsu ramen is probably one of the best. The soup is rich but light and refreshing, and the chashu, seasoned egg, green onions, and wood ear mushrooms were all satisfying. I finished the noodles quickly, so ordering an extra serving is a must.

Tanaka Shoten Ramen, extra noodles, and an onion drinking party came to Tanaka Shoten, a place that I haven't had many opportunities to visit. The shop offers authentic Hakata ramen, which the owner learned through self-study after traveling to various places. Despite being located far from the station in Adachi Ward, this shop has a steady popularity and has been awarded as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog. The shop is open from 8 pm to 4 am, making it perfect for drinkers. I arrived on a holiday around 9 pm, and the spacious interior was already full. By 10 pm, more people started to arrive, making it the perfect time for a late-night meal. This time, I ordered a simple bowl of ramen with a limited topping of red onions. The ramen arrived quickly. The soup had a thick texture from the continuously boiled pork bones, leaving a mild pork bone flavor that was enhanced by the exquisite seasoning. The noodles, directly imported from Fukuoka, were thin and authentic, making me feel like I was actually in Fukuoka. The red onions, when added to the soup, transformed the flavor into a spicy and delicious broth. It had a manageable level of spiciness that complemented the mild pork bone soup perfectly. The ground meat and meat miso added a new dimension to the soup, creating a completely different taste. I devoured the ramen in no time, realizing once again that ramen from a renowned shop is truly exceptional. My body felt satisfied, and I left feeling grateful for the ramen.

I ordered Negi Chashu Ramen, Mentaiko Rice, Akao ni, and two extra servings of noodles (firm). The smell of pork bone filled the restaurant, and the kitchen was surrounded by heat! I had a very authentic pork bone ramen. It was lighter than I expected, and I felt like I could eat as much as I wanted! With the red chili pepper and table red pickled ginger, I could keep changing the flavor endlessly. Since there was little soup left, I stopped at two extra servings, but I feel like I could have two more rounds. Very satisfied!! Thank you for the meal!

I was able to easily find a seat before 9:30 PM on a regular day. Maybe it's all about timing around here. I ordered ramen at "Ramen Barikata" with a side of bamboo shoots. I also got an extra serving of noodles later. I wonder if today's ramen will be better than usual? But it's been consistently delicious lately, so I like it. And the bamboo shoots were a hit! Surprisingly, it's the first time in decades that I've enjoyed them. Maybe next time I'll try adding bamboo shoots, green onions, and red chili peppers occasionally! It's a dream, haha.

I often crave the tonkotsu ramen from this place, even though I'm not a big fan of tonkotsu. The tonkotsu here is delicious without any unpleasant smell. It's great that they're open until late at night. Even if there's a line, the turnover is fast so you don't have to wait too long. When I have room in my stomach, I also enjoy their mentaiko rice. ♡

I finally visited a restaurant I had always wanted to go to. I arrived around 18:30 and there was already a long line, but the turnover was fast and I was able to be seated sooner than I expected. It was a Saturday, so most of the customers were families. The interior of the restaurant was cleaner and brighter than I thought. I ordered the char siu ramen with extra firm noodles. The water was self-serve, and I quickly finished my first cup, so I brought a second cup to my seat. The ramen arrived relatively quickly. I took a sip of the soup. Yes, it was definitely delicious. It tasted like it was made with only natural ingredients. The saltiness was mild, with a lot of richness making it a bit thick. Personally, I prefer a bit more saltiness and a lighter texture, but it was still delicious. I was happy to see that they used green onions, which are common in Western Japan. The pickled mustard greens on the table were quite spicy and oily. This would definitely go well with rice. This pickled mustard greens might be a hidden gem. There were signs all over saying "please be quiet" since the restaurant is located in a residential area. However, I wonder why they have such late-night operating hours.

I took my son, who is a student preparing for exams, out to a ramen shop because I wanted to talk with him. Whenever I ask my kids if they want to go to a ramen shop, the answer is always yes. It was just before 10 PM. Due to the pandemic, there are fewer late-night ramen shops, but there is a reliable one that stays open until early morning - the main branch of Tanaka Shoten. They open at 6 PM and operate until dawn, with a parking lot available. Based on the positive comments from people I follow, we decided to go there. It would take about 65 minutes to get there by train or bus, but by car, it should only be about 60 minutes round trip. When we arrived, the place was bustling. There was a security guard holding a sign asking people to keep quiet, probably because it's located in a residential area. It's next to Bamiyan, but be careful because the parking lots are different. Inside the shop, there are counter seats and table seats. We were seated at the counter after a 5-minute wait. The shop has a decent number of seats and serves food quickly, so the turnover rate is high. I ordered the extra firm ramen and spicy cod roe rice, while my son ordered the green onion ramen and Korean-style spicy cod roe rice. In the central kitchen, you can see a large pot of pork bone broth simmering. The nori with "Thank you" written on it is cute! The menu is written in multiple languages, which I think would be appreciated by foreign visitors. The soup was extremely hot! While many ramen shops serve soup at a manageable temperature, this one was seriously hot. The spicy cod roe rice was so generously topped with cod roe that I found myself alternating between it and the ramen. No, the spicy cod roe rice is a must-order! My son initially planned to get an extra serving, but the Korean-style spicy cod roe rice was so filling that he couldn't manage it. They gave us a ticket for an extra serving when we paid. Looks like we'll be coming back again! Thank you for the meal.

Late at night, indulging in a bowl of tonkotsu ramen with plenty of green onions and garlic, topped off with mentaiko rice... It's like a sinful delight. This restaurant only operates at night, yet there is a line of over 8 groups waiting. Many families with young children are also present, all hoping for a table seat. Luckily, I was able to skip the line smoothly and was seated at the counter, feeling like I was in a single rider line at Disneyland, regardless of the queue. I was handed the menu and quickly made my order without hesitation. It seemed like my body and mind were craving tonkotsu ramen more than I had thought. The green onions in the ramen were incredibly abundant, almost covering the noodles entirely. The noodles were thin, and you could get an extra serving for 170 yen. Everyone seemed to be ordering extra servings, probably because you receive a voucher for it at the checkout. Garlic and pickled greens were provided on the table. I mixed in plenty of garlic for an extra kick, but it was so strong that I couldn't handle another extra serving. The mentaiko rice came in a large portion, both the rice and mentaiko generously served. I definitely want to come back.

On a regular day around 20:30, I was able to get in smoothly. Maybe because summer vacation is almost over? That's good. I had "Ramen Barikata," "Akagoni," and "Kaedama Harigane" today. It was delicious, but a bit light. It's the kind of taste that is easy to enjoy. I thought about adding the Kaedama Harigane to the main bowl after finishing the Akagoni, but ended up eating it the usual way, with the noodles in a separate bowl. As usual, there is a lot of garlic in it. I might smell tomorrow. There were many new staff members, including some female staff. It's quite glamorous. There were about 20 people waiting in line. Some of them looked like students, so maybe it's summer vacation. Well, this place is open at night, so students can come even if it's not summer vacation. Groups of 3 to 4 people tend to prefer tables, so if you aim for the counter, you might be able to sit down quickly. Let's aim for the counter!

This ramen was one of the best I've ever had, and I'm a huge fan of tonkotsu ramen. The soup was carefully made to remove any unwanted flavors, while still keeping the bold and intense aroma typical of tonkotsu broth. The richness of the pork fat was also very noticeable. It reminded me of the rich and thick soup at the chain restaurant Ichiran. The combination of the rich soup and thin noodles was perfect. I even had an extra serving of noodles. I definitely want to go back again, maybe even three nights in a row, but the only downside is the difficulty in accessing the restaurant. I wish it was located more centrally. Nevertheless, I will definitely be going back.

Negi chashu ramen for 1350 yen + Mentaiko rice for 300 yen + Seasoned boiled egg for 150 yen + Wood ear mushrooms for 200 yen + Extra noodles for 170 yen x 2 times = 2340 yen. There was a guard at the front of the restaurant, probably for car traffic control, but having a guard at a ramen shop is something I don't remember seeing elsewhere, indicating its popularity. The interior of the shop was quite spacious with a long counter that could seat about 20 people. There were also 4 or 5 table seats, all of which were full, with a line extending outside the shop. However, the turnover was good and I didn't feel like I waited too long. There were about 10 staff members working, creating a lively atmosphere. The water was self-service, but the ice and water came out simultaneously from the dispenser, causing the ice supply to constantly run out and only lukewarm water to be available. There was no water pitcher on the counter. When I entered the shop, I wanted to drink cold water before eating the hot ramen, but the hot ramen was served first. This situation must happen frequently with such a popular shop and high turnover. Most of the people there probably wanted to drink cold water, so it was disappointing that the issue wasn't addressed. Initially, the Mentaiko rice was brought to the wrong table and then my ramen was also served with the wrong toppings. When the correct ramen was finally brought to me after a long wait, I had lost my appetite. The ramen was delicious, but during my meal, a young girl was being scolded right next to the long counter where everyone could see. It was annoying to hear someone else being scolded while eating ramen. I wanted to complain, but I held back. Overall, it was a disappointing experience with a full course of ramen.

I just went to Hakata Nagahama Ramen Ikki, but I got a little hungry so I came to Tanaka Shoten nearby! Haha. Comparing it to Ikki which I just ate, Tanaka Shoten's ramen is more refreshing and easier to eat, with a lot of chashu which is a good point! Both are very delicious and it's hard to choose between the two! It depends on personal preference, but I liked Tanaka Shoten better ♡ I will come again. Thank you for the meal~(^o^)

Tanaka Shoten in Adachi-ku, revisiting. They have a parking lot, but it's often full. Luckily, I found a spot easily this time. There were 12 people waiting outside at 23:00, and about 10 people inside. But I got in within 20 minutes. The turnover is fast. I ordered the Ramen for 800 yen, Barikata style, mentaiko rice for 300 yen, and free extra noodles (with a coupon). The mentaiko here is so good that I can't resist ordering it every time. The soup was lighter than usual today, which was rare. Still, it was flavorful. I added some garlic and pickled ginger for extra flavor. The mentaiko rice was delicious, I could eat unlimited rice with this mentaiko. The extra noodles were a bit firmer than the initial ones, but still tasty. The bowl was empty in no time. Overall, it was lighter than usual, not sure why. I'll rate it 4.0 stars this time, but I'll revisit soon and reassess. Thank you for the meal. 2023.08

Tonkotsu ramen for 720 yen, extra noodle refill for 180 yen. The ramen is incredibly delicious, the best tonkotsu ramen I've ever had. They have a dedicated free parking lot with security guards to guide you. The restaurant is spacious and has fast turnover. Went around 10 pm and only had to wait a bit before being seated.

On a regular day, I was able to get in smoothly at 3:30, but it was about 60% full already. Impressive, right? I like coming here before my solo touring early in the morning, even if I have to change my route. Ramen Harigane costs 820 yen, and there were a few people opting for extra noodles, so I had to wait a bit (compared to last time). It took about 5 minutes. The first impression was that it had slightly less richness compared to last time. But it was hot, so it was just right for this early morning or late night visit. Oh well, I forgot to order the bamboo shoots that I wanted next time. It's fine, it's morning after all. The fact that there were still enough customers coming in even at this time is impressive. The phone rang a few times for checking the business hours. So, I left the restaurant after having garlic in my ramen but without ordering extra noodles. Maybe the taste changes depending on the simmering time of the soup, like between night and morning. Well, it's delicious either way. I don't know, haha.
