Last week, I had a special kaiseki menu at a banquet, and it was so impressive that I decided to come with my family. The recommended dish was grilled bamboo shoots and young tree buds, but I was truly impressed by the Tajima beef in white miso sauce (with bamboo shoots, new onions, kujo onions, and sansho pepper). As expected of someone from Kyoto, the seasoning was a bit richer for a Kyoto kaiseki, but it was a flavor that everyone could enjoy. It was very delicious. I have added it to my list of places to revisit. Thank you for the wonderful meal. How about the menu for May?

The restaurant "Take Shigeru" was located in a place that used to be a good omen. After attending a farewell party for the late president of Minoyoshi Foods, whom I loved, at the Granvia, I decided to have a meal at Take Shigeru on my way home. I was worried that it might be closed as it was quite late, but I was able to enter. I ordered the Matsutake Mushroom Set Meal (1000 yen including tax). I toasted to the late president, and the dishes that came out were as follows: Matsutake and Mizuna salad with a perfect vinegar seasoning, delicious "uzaku" (pickled vegetables), Matsutake and conger eel steamed in a pot with a slightly sweet broth, sashimi platter with Spanish mackerel, bigfin reef squid, red meat, and carp, tempura of prawn and Matsutake with even the head of the prawn included, Matsutake rice, miso soup, pickles, and a Kyoto-style slightly soft-cooked Matsutake rice, which was also delicious. Earl Grey ice cream. Take Shigeru is a restaurant run by the Satake family of Minoyoshi, which operates in the depachika (department store basement food hall) and is related to the Oonishi family. So, this was my first time dining at Take Shigeru, and it was delicious. May the late president rest in peace.

During this season, I really wanted to eat "hamo" (pike conger), so I decided to choose Hotel Takemoro near Kyoto Station. Although the hamo course required a reservation in advance, I asked if they could slightly change the contents of the Takemoro course, priced at 20,000 yen, to include some hamo. The flavors were elegant and extremely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.

I wanted to eat kaiseki cuisine, so I went to "Takemoro" restaurant. It is located inside the Grandvia Hotel, which is directly connected to the station, making it very convenient to access. The food was beautiful, elegant, and delicious, using seasonal ingredients. The service was polite, and they explained the dishes thoroughly.

Night course dinner for three people. The explanation of the dishes came after we finished eating. The dishes were served with rice on the right and the bowl on the left. Depending on the person, the bowl was placed in front of the pickles or behind them. There were fried and grilled ayu fish, both delicious. The food was good but the service left a strange impression.

My wife and I went on a trip to Kansai! We always stay at Hotel Granvia above Kyoto Station, and we noticed that Minoyoshi-san had opened there, so we stopped by before heading back to Tokyo. Whether you eat at any of their locations, the food is consistently delicious, and the customer service is excellent. It's a truly wonderful restaurant.

On the last day of my trip, I finally got to eat the eel I had been craving. I usually stay at the Granvia in Kyoto, but I didn't know there was a restaurant affiliated with Minoyoshi. I had an 8000 yen eel kaiseki lunch. The sashimi was average, the pickles were okay. The white miso side dish was excellent, a true taste of Kyoto. The eel bowl was a bit thin in texture, and the sauce was a bit on the strong side, but it was still delicious!
