大哉心乎
When you head east from Monji Onna Street towards Kashihara Street, you will come across this shop just before reaching the Hankyu train line. This shop has changed its name a few times, but it seems like the management remains the same as some of the menu items are similar to before. The shop now has a Hawaiian theme, but they still serve fresh pasta and include a long baguette in their set meals, just like before. On this day, I visited with my wife and we both ordered the Pasta Lunch Set for 1,380 yen (excluding tax). You can choose one pasta dish from 13 options, and the set includes a long baguette, soup, salad, and a drink. The baguette comes in three flavors: mentaiko, garlic, and honey. I chose the basil sauce pasta with Kagoshima red chicken and mushrooms, along with garlic baguette. The meal started with a mini salad and a cup of corn soup, both light and delicious. The garlic baguette and hot coffee followed, along with the basil pasta. The freshly baked baguette was crispy and tasty, with a hint of garlic butter that whetted my appetite. The basil pasta was made with thick fresh noodles, tender red chicken breast, and plenty of shimeji and eringi mushrooms. The cheese was grated over the pasta at the table, a service that cheese lovers would appreciate. The pasta had a gentle saltiness, and the basil flavor was not overpowering. Although I would have liked a bit more pepper, it was still enjoyable. This shop offers a variety of dishes, including sandwiches and loco moco, but the prices are a bit high. However, the quality justifies the cost, making it a satisfying dining experience.
