The chicken nanban skewers were delicious with some creativity. The skewers were all marinated well, and the tsukune (meatballs) were fairly tasty. The fluffy grilled onigiri (rice balls) were satisfying with a nice crispy texture. The manager was kind and created a good atmosphere. The cleanliness of the restaurant was good. Considering the price and portion, it offers good value for money at 1980 yen per person.

I arrived around 9pm on Saturday, April 11, 2020. I ordered hatsu, kawa, seseri, bonjiri, nankotsu, roketto, umeshiso maki, pickles, edamame, nasu cheese, lemon shochu highball, and white wine. It's been a year since I last came, but I'm fully satisfied with the delicious yakitori. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back. I visited on October 8, 2018. It's a yakitori restaurant that I have been to many times. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is great and very cozy. The chicken skin with salt was incredibly delicious, and I felt very happy and satisfied. The shrimp skewers were also delicious, especially with the tartar sauce. It was outstanding. All the other menu items are delicious as well, so it's the best. Although it's a bit far from my home, it's a restaurant that I often visit. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go again. This is my second visit here. The first time, I came with some work colleagues and I remember thinking, "Hmm, everything here is delicious!" This time, I came alone to check it out. I started with the classic yakitori skewers - chicken thigh, gizzard, skin, liver, heart, and neck - one of each. And just as I remembered, the yakitori at Daikichi is different from other places - so tasty! I was pretty hungry, so I also ordered the chicken wings. Normally they are grilled with salt and pepper, but they offered to deep fry them, which was amazing! This has become a new favorite for me. I also tried their original menu item, wasabi, which was spicy but delicious. I ended up ordering a bunch of other skewers like chicken tail, cartilage, and shiso rolls, and they were all fantastic. The chef is friendly and fun to talk to, so we ended up having a few drinks together. To finish off, I tried their burnt rice soup, which was the perfect way to end the meal. I felt like I had eaten and drank a lot, but the bill was only 4000 yen - very reasonable! I highly recommend this place for yakitori skewers. I'll definitely be back again.

Located between Horikawa Takatsuji and Bukkoji, in a somewhat random spot, is Daikichi. The restaurant has a typical Daikichi layout with a counter at the center, but it has a nice atmosphere. There are hits and misses in terms of food quality, just like at Dkichi. Despite not having high expectations due to the misses, the food was surprisingly delicious! I was told that even though it's the same Dkichi, the ingredients vary depending on the restaurant. The food here is tasty and the overall atmosphere is good. The restaurant is run by the chef and a part-time staff, so when it gets busy, it can feel a bit chaotic, but overall it's a good place.

Every time I come here, I always end up ordering the shikuwasa. The moderate acidity pairs well with the yakitori sauce. I also discovered the deliciousness of hosomaki here. The menu is also extensive, with options like eggplant cheese, beef harami, ginkgo nuts, pork tomato cheese, okra, hosomaki, tsukune, and cheese chikuwa isobeyaki. While having a great time with a cute couple from Shanghai, the owner even gave us a complimentary potato dish. Thank you for the delicious meal! I visited around 6:00 pm on Sunday. When I arrived, there was only one other customer, so I thought "it's good that it's not crowded". But soon more and more people came in, and in no time the counter (about 10 seats) was full... it was packed tightly with little space between seats. There were also table seats in the back. It seemed like some people had made reservations. I was asked for my drink order as soon as I sat down. I ordered yakitori as soon as my drink arrived. However, it seemed like... (requested deletion). The taste was average. I personally like the taste of yakitori, so it was fine for me. But... maybe because it was crowded (requested deletion)... I left early. I feel that regardless of whether it's an old-fashioned stubborn father's shop or a fancy restaurant that serves delicious food, one of the things that makes a restaurant beloved is the customer service. I think it's important not to forget about providing good service, regardless of whether it's a new employee, a veteran, a full-time staff, or a part-timer.
