Director Shinichi Fujisaki from BODYPITKYOTO here. I visited the restaurant after about 20 years at the request of a former student I coached and trained in youth baseball. It was delicious after such a long time. I had the large Char Siu Ramen, rice, and gyoza. Thank you very much.

Ramen Yokozuna in Kyoto has a 50-year history and their tonkotsu shoyu soup with straight noodles and Kujyo green onions that you can add as much as you want is delicious and addictive. I have lost count of how many times I have visited this place, but the taste always makes me want to come back for more. I usually go to the main store, but this time I visited this branch. Lately, I have been enjoying their vegetable ramen. They offer unlimited green onions, so I always put in as much as I can! The green onions soaked in tonkotsu soy sauce broth taste amazing. It's a taste that even middle-aged people can enjoy without worries. The spicy gyoza is also addictive with its level of spiciness. Eating it at the same time as the ramen can make it hard to distinguish the flavors because of the spiciness (laughs). There are many delicious ramen shops these days, but this place is the champion of ramen. Please try it out at least once.

We went with my husband by car to a place with a spacious parking lot and a large interior, so we were able to get in without waiting before 12 pm on Saturday. It had been a while since we visited this famous ramen restaurant. We were happy with the unlimited green onions. I ordered a small ramen with gyoza set, while my husband got a large ramen with fried chicken set. We both opted for a small portion of rice. The large ramen was too much for my husband, but the small portion was just right for me. The soy sauce-based broth was easy to eat. The black gyoza was also delicious.

I had lunch here while out. I had the Char siu ramen and rice (medium) for 950 yen. It had been about 20 years since I last visited this restaurant, and I had forgotten the taste, but the pork bone soy sauce flavor was consistently satisfying. The amount of food for the price is great for salarymen and students, making it very cost-effective! It's a shame that this place isn't closer, but I would definitely like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

I am always concerned about calories and usually can't eat ramen, but I felt relieved because this ramen had plenty of vegetables and less noodles! This fried rice is my favorite, and I always order it when I come to this restaurant. It's exciting to mix the egg by myself and pour it over the rice, which I also like. The combination of mentaiko, mayonnaise, egg, and fried rice is really good. It's rich, but delicious!

Yokozuna Ramen in Chiyohara-guchi is a ramen shop that is open all day and has plenty of seating, making it convenient. It had been a long time since I last visited Yokozuna. Here is what I had:
- "Sai Ramen" (Regular size for 750 yen): This ramen had a variety of toppings including green onions, menma (bamboo shoots), chashu (roast pork), flavored egg, and kimchi. The soup base was a sweet pork bone soy sauce broth. The kimchi added a nice spicy kick to the dish.
- Pork belly topping (290 yen): I couldn't resist ordering the thick slices of pork belly that I saw on the wall. They were cooked to perfection and provided a satisfying chewiness.
Yokozuna's Kyoto soy sauce ramen is something I crave from time to time. I definitely want to visit again soon.

Around 20 years ago, I used to frequent this shop often. I felt nostalgic and decided to visit in the middle of the night. It was Monday night, around midnight. Surprisingly, there were a few groups of customers inside even at this late hour. I ordered the regular ramen for 680 yen. Considering the recent rise in ramen prices due to the improvement in quality, the fact that you can add as much green onions as you want at this price is amazing! It has been a while since my last visit, but the interior of the shop remains clean and unchanged from the past. The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. First, I tried the soup. It had that nostalgic soy sauce tonkotsu flavor, but compared to the past, it felt lighter now... how times have changed. The evolution of ramen is remarkable. The noodles were medium-thin straight noodles with a good texture and fragrance, and they paired well with the soup. I added some garlic in the middle and finished it all! I feel like the green onions are not the same as before, and the chashu pork has changed from pork belly to pork loin, or maybe it's just my imagination? Overall, I would rate it as follows: Noodles 80 points, Soup 80 points, Ingredients 75 points, Balance of noodles and soup 85 points, Cost performance 85 points, Interior 85 points, Service 80 points. Overall, 81.4 points. Evaluation criteria: 0-60 points: Bad! 61-70 points: A little better. 71-80 points: Okay. 81-85 points: Quite good. 86-90 points: Very good. 91-95 points: Excellent. 96-99 points: Amazing. 100 points: Perfect!

Visited the restaurant on Sunday at 2:30 PM, it wasn't crowded. I ordered the chilled tantanmen noodles in large size for ¥890 including tax. The menu mentioned that it may take a bit longer due to the flat noodles. The dish arrived in 9 minutes! It was a bit spicy for my taste. Overall, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing work, I visited this restaurant for the first time in a while. I parked my car in the large parking lot of the restaurant and entered the crowded store. I was seated at the counter and looked at the menu. In addition to the regular menu, there were also several special menus available. I decided to order the Braised Pork Belly Ramen (920 yen). The ramen arrived in about 10 minutes, along with a separate container of unlimited green onions. I added a mountain of green onions to the ramen and started eating. The soup was a pork bone soy sauce base, with a slightly light and salty flavor that still retained the aroma of pork bones. The large amount of green onions helped balance out the saltiness. The noodles were medium-thin and straight, with a chewy texture that went well with the soup. The braised pork belly was thick and had a firm texture, with a slightly sweet and savory seasoning. Adding garlic enhanced the richness, while adding chili paste increased the spiciness but overpowered the soup's flavor. I used to come here about 15 years ago, and it seemed like the flavor had become slightly lighter than before, perhaps due to changes in my taste preferences. However, I was happy that the unlimited green onions were still available, just like before.

It's cold, isn't it? On weekdays at 7 pm during the pandemic, the restaurant closes at 8 pm, so I hurried inside. Do you know about "yoku yaki" gyoza? It's when they cook the gyoza until it has a nice crispy texture! I first heard about it a long time ago when Tomomi Kahara ordered a "tsukudaku" gyudon at Yoshinoya. I found out about it again through a post by my follower, Rira-chan, and decided to visit this time to see if Yokoze-san can do it too! I ordered the usual ramen set with gyoza (black pork gyoza) cooked "yoku yaki" style. The ramen arrived first, followed by the gyoza. The total cost was 960 yen for the ramen set, but I used a free gyoza coupon so it was 760 yen. The ramen was as good as always, with vinegar, lots of green onions, and melted garlic added for extra flavor. As for the taste, I won't go into details, but Yokoze-san never disappoints. Now, onto the gyoza! The crispy brown sear on them looks perfect. I prepared a dish of vinegar and plenty of black pepper for dipping. This vinegar isn't too sour, just a simple seasoning that allows you to taste the gyoza. I first learned about this at Marushin Hanten, a restaurant famous for its Tenshinhan. Dipping the gyoza in the vinegar and pepper gives it a crunchy texture on the outside and a chewy skin, which I found delicious. If you usually eat gyoza without trying "yoku yaki" style with vinegar and pepper, I recommend giving it a try. Thank you, Rira-chan, for sharing this information!

On a regular Tuesday at 12:00, the restaurant was not crowded. This time, I tried the limited-time spicy miso ramen for ¥860 (tax included), but unfortunately, they couldn't do a large serving. I also ordered A lunch with white rice (medium) for ¥80 (tax included) and 2 pieces of fried chicken for ¥200 (tax included). I added an extra serving of noodles for a total of ¥1240 (tax included). The spicy ramen was delicious once again! They offer two types of extra noodle servings: thin noodles (small) and medium thick noodles. I chose the thin noodles, and they were also quite tasty! Thank you for the meal.

On a regular Monday at 11:30, the restaurant wasn't crowded yet. I decided to try the limited-time spicy miso ramen for ¥860, but they couldn't do a large portion. I also ordered A lunch with white rice (medium) for ¥80 and 2 pieces of fried chicken for ¥200, totaling ¥1140. The spicy miso ramen was delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. I enjoyed it and would definitely have it again. Thank you for the meal.

Slow Lunch #Tenkaippin Kei Gojo Branch will be closing on 9/20 the day after tomorrow, so let's go! I was taken there, but there was a long line! It is said to be the most delicious ramen in Japan, known as #Tenkaippin, but unfortunately, they ran out of ramen right in front of us. So, we went to a nearby #Yokozuna Ramen where we chose a ramen set for 650 yen and a lunch set with fried rice for 250 yen. It had been about 20 years since I last had Yokozuna Ramen, and the option to add as many green onions as you want is still available! Furthermore, the iron plate fried rice is the type where they crack the egg and cook it on the spot. The sizzling sound is appetizing! The nostalgic taste with a good amount of spiciness added was satisfying. #Kyoto #Kei @ Ramen Yokozuna Kei Gojo Branch

Saturday, 1:00 PM, entered the restaurant. The place was not full, with a variety of customers. Ordered ramen for ¥650, bean sprouts for ¥100, and a large teppanyaki fried rice set for ¥330, totaling ¥1080. The food arrived in 5 minutes. Started by mixing the fried rice, but still didn't find it delicious. I've never been a fan of their fried rice. Tried the ramen, and it was tasty, I quite liked it. I think I'll try their rice bowls next time. The staff were friendly. Thank you for the meal.

On December 27, 2018 (Thursday) before 1:00 PM, I stopped by "Ramen Yokozuna Keigojo Store" near Chiyoharaguchi in Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto for lunch during work. It happened to be that I visit this restaurant every three months. When I entered the restaurant a little before 1:00 PM, it was as usual, full with a waiting list. However, after waiting for a few minutes, I was seated at the counter.
- Vegetable Ramen (small) 680 yen (tax included)
I ordered the small size Vegetable Ramen, but it came with a mountain of vegetables!! The amount of noodles also felt quite substantial for a small size. A brown sauce-like topping was poured over the vegetables, but I couldn't taste the sauce itself.
- Black Pork Gyoza (without garlic) 1 serving 200 yen (including tax) *lunch service price
The gyoza, cooked to perfection, was simply delicious♪
The ramen and gyoza had their usual consistent taste. Thank you for the wonderful meal♡♡♡♡

Yokozuna, a long-established ramen chain originating in Kyoto in 1972. They have many stores in the Kansai region with Kyoto as their main base. I felt like eating there after a long time and visited for a late lunch. It was around 1:30 pm and the restaurant was a bit empty, but more people kept coming in after me, showing how popular it is. The interior is very spacious and open, with a relaxed atmosphere especially at the table seats. I ordered the regular ramen, a small portion of rice, and spicy gyoza, all for 900 yen which I think is a good value. The ramen is a tonkotsu soy sauce flavor, not too rich and rather light and easy to eat. Moreover, you can adjust the taste to your liking with the available options of spiciness, grated garlic, green onions, and extra ramen sauce. The spicy gyoza goes really well with the rice, making it a perfect combination. Overall, everything is easy to eat and the ramen allows for customization, giving a high level of reliability. As a side note, I've been eating at Yokozuna since my student days, and I feel like the taste has changed somewhat over the years. It seems to be more delicious and easier to eat now compared to when I used to eat it as a student (I apologize if it hasn't changed).

I went back to my hometown and visited "Ramen Yokozuna" for the first time in a while. It's refreshing to see a suburban ramen shop with ample parking and tables, which is rare in Tokyo. Even on a Saturday at 1:30 pm, there was occasionally a line, showing how popular the place is. Most of the staff, both in the dining area and kitchen, were women, which I'm not sure if it was intentional or just happened that way, but their energetic and thoughtful service was very impressive. The menu and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant make it a comfortable place for families with young children, which is greatly appreciated by parents. The ramen itself has remained unchanged for years, with the classic Kyoto-style tonkotsu shoyu broth, and in Tokyo, you can enjoy the luxury of free-flowing Kujo green onions. In the past, I used to ask for a refill when the green onions on the table ran out, but now that I'm older, I've stopped doing that (laughs). It's a taste that makes me crave it whenever I return to Kyoto.

Visited at 2:00 AM on October 8, 2018. I was working late and got really hungry, so I decided to visit this place! There were a few customers already there. The store is huge, so it looked empty. Before entering, I noticed a menu item that caught my eye - a limited edition spicy mixed noodles! I was hesitant when ordering, but my mouth said "spicy mixed noodles" on its own. The soup was more than I expected, and it was really spicy. I had never been interested in the limited edition items before, but this one was surprisingly delicious. If it becomes a regular menu item, I might order it again!

This is also a visit record from 2018. The famous chain store originated in Kyoto, "Yokozuna" in July 2018. After a long overtime, I returned to Kyoto in the early morning. In times like this, Tenichi and Yokozuna are convenient. I wanted to eat cold noodles this time, so I went to Yokozuna, which I knew was doing something a little different. I had tried their warm tantanmen before and it wasn't bad, so I had some expectations. However, this was a bit different. I had a bad feeling when I saw the cucumber in the picture. It felt like a spicy version of sesame cold Chinese noodles. Come to think of it, was the cold tantanmen at "Kura Sushi" like this too? I don't dislike it, but as someone who likes tantanmen, it's a bit different. Cold tantanmen is indeed difficult.
