Instead of white rice, they use agar and kelp for tea and palate cleansers. The flavors change with the seasons, ensuring that you never get tired of the taste. There are about 5 different flavors, all of which are not too rich and never too sweet even without kelp. They are all delicious.

The visit was at 1:15 PM. After the typhoon passed... I was diving into the intense heat outside... sweating. Normally, the "sweet shop" doesn't get much of a reaction! However, today was different. LOL. The "Black Syrup White Mochi Anmitsu" was refreshing. The "Salted Kombu" was very interesting. It was a delicious experience. Now, let's head out.

I visited the sweets shop Mitsuya in the Asakusa area, which was bustling with foreign tourists, after walking through the Kaminarimon Nakamise shopping street. I ordered a plate of 5 pieces of Mitsushiratama with Zunda topping for 980 yen. The Zunda paste was a jade green color and topped with freshly made Shiratama. The staff explained that you could add syrup to your liking, and also provided salted kelp and agar jelly with Nanko plum as a palate cleanser. The Zunda paste had a hint of salt, which paired well with the sweetness of the syrup. I enjoyed changing the flavor by adding syrup and had a pleasant time with the salted kelp, cold tea, and finished off with the delicious Nanko plum agar jelly.

Mitsuya in Asakusa is a popular cafe near the Nakamise shopping street. They are known for their freshly made large-sized Shiratama (rice flour dumplings) that are a hit on social media. When you purchase a food ticket, you can choose between a warm dango or cold Shiratama, and then wait at your seat. I ordered the "Kuro Mitsu Kinako" (680 yen) this time. The chewy texture of the Shiratama paired perfectly with the black honey, it was amazing. The atmosphere inside the cafe is calm and traditional Japanese, and I only had to wait about 10 minutes to get in (around 3 pm on a weekday). The interior has a counter with 8 seats and two tables for 4 people each, and there is a clean restroom on the second floor. I recommend it for couples or friends!

On a crowded Saturday in Asakusa, we waited in a short line to get in. Our goal was to try shaved ice, but we were drawn to the round white dumplings and ended up getting the plum shaved ice with warm white dumplings and red bean paste set. The plum jam on the shaved ice was generously spread and soaked into the ice. The white dumplings were about 3 centimeters in diameter, perfectly round and soft all the way through. The set also came with agar jelly topped with plum syrup and black honey, unexpectedly allowing us to enjoy a traditional sweet red bean soup as well. It also included salted kelp and warm tea, providing a mix of sweet, salty, sour, hot, and cold flavors in one greedy set. The shop was clean and had a nice atmosphere.

It seems to be a popular dumpling shop, but due to the intense heat, I decided to go for shaved ice without hesitation. This shop operates with a system where you purchase food tickets from a vending machine. I believe the shaved ice was around 1500 yen. I opted for red bean paste as an additional topping. Since the shop is located right in the middle of Asakusa's Nakamise Street, I suppose the price is reasonable. Next time, I would like to try their Shiratama (rice flour dumplings).

I visited the restaurant around 3 pm on a regular day. It is located on Kannon Street, just a short walk from Asakusa Station, on the left side after passing through the arcade. The exterior has a traditional Japanese feel with a cute atmosphere. There is always a line, but luckily I was able to get in without waiting this time. Inside, you purchase your meal ticket from a machine on the left as soon as you enter. The restaurant has table seating only, with a second floor available. I ordered the "Mitsu Shiratama Ni Sara" (Three Types of Shiratama Dumplings) for 1130 yen, which includes warm black syrup with kinako and warm mitarashi sauce. You can choose two different types of warm or cold shiratama dumplings. The dish also comes with a palate cleanser of salted kelp, agar jelly with plum syrup, and tea. As soon as the dish arrived, I couldn't help but smile. The shiratama dumplings were so soft and chewy. The warm ones were especially delicious. The mitarashi sauce was amazing, showcasing the greatness of mitarashi once again. The combination of kinako and black syrup was also perfect. The agar jelly with plum syrup was refreshing, slightly sweet with a hint of sourness. The salted kelp was also excellent. Before I knew it, I had finished the whole dish in no time.

On weekends and holidays, the line is really long...! (around 30 minutes to 1 hour) There are seats on the second floor, and the turnover is fast, so even though the line is long, you can get in quickly! It gets really hot while waiting in line during the summer, so make sure to take measures against the heat like using a fan or handheld fan! I tried the rice cakes, they were easy to eat and had a refreshing taste, so I finished them quickly!

I visited a shop that my girlfriend was interested in when we happened to pass by a side street off the main street in Asakusa. I was worried because they didn't have just drinks, and I can't eat sweets, but it turned out that it was okay to order just one item. The interior of the shop was clean and had a calm atmosphere. I didn't order a drink, but I enjoyed the water while watching my girlfriend eat something sweet. She said the taste was very delicious. If you can enter without ordering, I would recommend it easily.

Visited in the afternoon on a day off. There was already a line in front of the store. Of course, I lined up. I ordered a plate of Mizu Shiratama with black honey and kinako. The warm dango was delicious. Each piece of shiratama was large, with 5 pieces in total. The kinako was sprinkled generously, and you can eat it as it is or add black honey. The chewy shiratama was delicious! It came with agar jelly and salted kelp. The salted kelp allowed me to enjoy both sweet and salty flavors. It had a satisfying volume. Thank you for the meal ⭐︎

〜Lining up for popular shops on SNS〜 Last time, I gave up because the dessert shop was too crowded. This time, I was able to get in after waiting for about 30 minutes. I couldn't believe I could eat such shiny and delicious-looking shiratama... And to top it off, they had my favorite zunda flavor! It was a win for me!! I couldn't decide between cold or hot, but I chose the warm option. Personally, getting shiratama, a pickled vegetable side dish, a small dish (that day was agar), and warm tea all for under ¥1000 is amazing. Each piece was big and chewy... The coarse zunda bean paste paired perfectly with it. The daily small dish (that day was plum agar) had a refreshing plum flavor that I could eat forever. I was so satisfied that waiting in line was definitely worth it. Thank you for the meal ♡

I visited Asakusa and stopped by this place. After visiting Sensoji Temple, I went to Amazake Dokoro Mitsuya to try their shiratama. I waited for about 2 hours before finally getting inside the store. They gave me the menu while I waited, which made it easy to choose. The shiratama was chewy and delicious. Personally, I really liked the refreshing salted kelp they served. I was surprised when they suggested adding shichimi spice to the mitarashi sauce for a different flavor.

I arrived at the cafe around 12:30 on the weekend. It was just the right time for lunch, so I only had to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated as there was one group ahead of me. When I left around 1:30, there were about 6 groups waiting, which was surprising! This cafe was unique in that you had to purchase a food ticket before being seated, and then hand it over at the counter before waiting for your seat. You could choose between warm or cold shiratama (rice flour dumplings). I ordered the "Mitsu Shiratama" with zunda for 980 yen. The shiratama was very soft and had a gentle taste like softly boiled mochi. The zunda paste was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness, and the texture of the grains was irresistible! There weren't many solo diners, mostly couples or groups of two women. It was a delightful meal!

I found a takeout shop in Nakamise in Asakusa and suddenly felt like eating shiratama, so I searched for an eat-in place and ended up here. I went on a weekend and there was a long line. There were mostly young people, and many couples. I ordered two servings of Mitarashi dango with black honey. The mochi was fluffy and chewy, with a delicate flavor. They also provided salted kelp and shichimi for refreshing the palate, as well as mitarashi dango. There are about 12 seats at the large communal table, but I felt a bit awkward because the acrylic board in front is transparent, making it seem like you're making eye contact with other customers. There were also a couple of four-person tables in the back.

Every time I visit Asakusa, I have always been curious about this shop that caught my attention. When I peeked in on a Sunday around 3 pm before, the white dumplings were already sold out. So this time, it was a long-awaited visit. I arrived on a holiday around 1 pm. On this day, there were already about 6 groups of people waiting outside, and after about 50 minutes to an hour, we were guided inside the shop. (It seems that reservations are not accepted at this shop.) While waiting in line, we were given the menu, so we decided on our order and entered the shop. It was a bright and sophisticated Japanese-style atmosphere with wood as the main theme, which goes very well with white dumplings! It's also highly recommended for a date. The white dumplings come in one flavor with 5 pieces or two flavors with 3 pieces each as the standard options. You can also choose whether you want the white dumplings to be warm or cold for all flavors. I chose the warm matcha white dumplings and the cold zunda white dumplings. (1320 yen) It came with warm tea, shiromitsu agar jelly, and salted seaweed for flavor enhancement, all of which were delicious. The white dumplings were cute, chewy, and slightly larger than usual, so I savored each one carefully. Thank you for the delicious white dumplings and the wonderful time! Next time, I would like to try the white dumplings as a souvenir. Thank you for the lovely break on a holiday afternoon ☺️

Located in Asakusa, "Kanmi Mitsuya" is a 2-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tokyo Metro Asakusa Line, exits 1 and 3. It has 16 seats. I ordered: - Mitsushiratama (rice balls with sweet red bean paste or black sesame paste) with tea and black honey bean paste (980 yen) - Mitsushiratama with tea and black honey kinako (soybean flour) (980 yen) I always see long lines at Mitsuya, but this time I was able to enter without waiting. You purchase your order from a ticket machine, hand the ticket to the staff, and then wait at your seat. The rice balls were soft, chewy, and perfectly warm. The mild sweetness paired well with the elegant red bean paste. Adding black honey gave it a different flavor. The agar with lemon on the side was refreshing and the white honey on top added a unique taste. The salted kelp served as a palate cleanser was so delicious, I wanted seconds. Everything paired perfectly with the warm hojicha tea. Highly recommend for delicious rice balls in Asakusa! I visited last year at the end of the year. I arrived around 2 pm, and there were about 5 groups in front of me. In line were young girls and couples who seemed close. There was one older woman who clearly stood out. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I entered the store. There is a ticket machine inside the store for ordering, and there is also a menu outside. It may be helpful to decide in advance as the content is a bit confusing. I ordered the "mitsu shiratama" with two plates of zunda and mitarashi (warm). They were so cute! I can't find the right words to describe it! I wish I could share this cuteness with someone, but today I'm alone... Too bad. But it's okay! Even alone, my mood is lifted. First, zunda - I love zunda! The rice cakes were chewy and delicious. The zunda had just the right amount of sweetness. The mitarashi was not too sweet, so I didn't get tired of it. I also enjoyed changing the taste with shichimi pepper halfway through. The plum syrup agar was a nice palate cleanser. I finished it in no time. It was just the right amount - delicious! Thank you for the meal.

In Asakusa, there is a popular dumpling shop called "#Mitsuya" where there is always a long line. One of the highlights is that you can choose between cold or hot white dumplings, and their cute appearance adds to the charm. This time, I ordered a cold dish with a chewy texture. I ordered the following:
- Mitsuya White Dumplings
- Black Honey Kinako
- Matcha

In the past, I visited a sweets shop called "Mitsuya" that was featured in the opening scene of the Chibi Maruko-chan anime. It was a weekend, so there was a line outside the shop. Inside, there was a machine where you purchase food tickets before handing them to the staff to place your order. I ordered the "Mitsushiratama" with black honey kinako & zunda, and the seasonal limited edition "Mitsushiratama" with chestnut and sweet red bean. We decided to share these dishes. The "Mitsushiratama" comes with either three or five white rice cakes, depending on your order. The texture of the rice cakes was soft, not chewy. The toppings were not too sweet, making it a gentle treat. The lemon-flavored agar and salted kelp side dish were refreshing and savory. Overall, the experience was cozy, but the sight of the line outside the shop was a bit distracting. It felt a bit uncomfortable to see a single person seated at a table meant for four, considering the line outside. The strict adherence to the order of customers was commendable, but it also created some tension.
