It is a liquor store located on the way to Nakashima, beyond Ryoma Street. It is a bit of a hidden gem, away from the eyes of tourists. They have a tasting counter where you can sample different types of sake. It is not just Yutaka who can offer sake tasting! They also have a variety of sake lees sourced directly from breweries. I purchased the sake lees of Eikun Daiginjo from them.

It's been a while since I visited Nakashima. When I come here, I have to drink sake before leaving. So, I went to Aratama-chan this time. I did a tasting of three different sakes this time. All of them were from Eikun. It was a tasting of Eikun sakes. Lately, I've been drinking a lot of Eikun... but all of them are really good. They are all delicious. The best.

Today, on my way back from Kyoto, I stopped by Aradama Sake Store to purchase some delicious sake. I'm planning to enjoy drinking at home. There are various sake options from Fushimi. I ended up choosing Kinoshita Shuzo's "Shiboritate Namagenshu" this time. When I tried it, it was delicious!! It was amazing. It disappeared in no time. (laughs)

Today, I went to Aratama Saketen. It's part of the series "Enjoy sake in Fushimi, the sake town." I wonder what kind of place this is. I'm excited to find out. The shop is located on the left side as you walk through the shopping street after getting off at Keihan Electric Railway's Nakashojima Station. You can tell right away by the variety of sake they have on display. They didn't have a standing bar corner before, but now they do. This is great! Let's enjoy some drinks casually. They offer a set of 4 drinks for 980 yen, and you can choose from a variety of sake. It's hard to decide. If you're curious about the types of sake they have, check out the photos on Tabelog. The sake I chose this time were all great. It's nice to be able to try different kinds of sake. For snacks, I decided to go with the special canned food series. I chose the Kinasa Saba Miso-ni. It's made by immediately canning fresh mackerel caught in the morning. It has a freshness that sets it apart. It's much tastier than what you'd get at a regular izakaya. It's a must-try for mackerel lovers. And of course, it goes perfectly with sake! Aratama Saketen didn't have a standing bar corner in the past, they only sold sake. But now they have a standing bar corner. I'm so happy. This makes me want to make a stop and have a drink on my way back to Kyoto. I've found my favorite spot in Nakashojima. I'll definitely be going back.
