Even though it was Sunday and we forgot to make a reservation, we decided to try our luck and walk into this restaurant. It was already past 7:00 PM and the place was almost full. We ended up ordering all the recommended dishes, and the taste and portion size were... just okay. However, the staff was very friendly and energetic, so that was a plus.

A group of four work colleagues attended an industry gathering in Kyoto. In the evening, the four of us decided to drink at a nearby restaurant close to the station. We started with a toast with draft beer and ordered a platter of grilled seafood (1,990 yen) with extra shellfish (+300 yen), simmered Japanese beef intestines (590 yen), edamame (290 yen), homemade pickled cucumbers (390 yen), and thick rolled omelette (290 yen). Although we requested shellfish with the grilled seafood platter, it was missing. Just as we were about to mention it to the staff, a separate plate of horned turban shells was brought to us. The simmered Japanese beef intestines had a sweet flavor and were delicious, while the pickled cucumbers were exquisite. We switched our drinks to sake, shochu, and plum wine, and added a dish of deep-fried green onions (490 yen), fried chicken (390 yen), french fries (390 yen), and a three-type platter of horse sashimi (990 yen). The fried chicken had won a national gold award, but it was not surprisingly outstanding, just simply delicious. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was lively, making it a pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the meal.
