Christmas dinner was a fantastic night♡❤︎ Located right at the foot of the Tsubaki Bridge, the location is excellent! You can enjoy your meal while feeling the elegant atmosphere of Kyoto's streets! The cuisine is based on French, but I heard they can make anything if you request it! It's a very lovely atmosphere, but you can enjoy it casually, which is a great feature. The restaurant is mainly run by one chef, so when the seats are full, you may not have a leisurely conversation! However, they don't miss your whispers and respond to them, which I appreciate! The pace of the dishes was a bit slow, but I feel it's because they are very detailed. It might be because it was a busy time, so it's not a big deal^ ^♪ Despite being in a prime location, the prices are very reasonable! It's surprising. I feel that there are very few restaurants with such good cost performance in the heart of Gion! Next time, I definitely want to visit after requesting my preferences!!!

This time, the bistro "Bistro & Wine Salon YAMADA" near Tsubone Bridge in Gion Shirakawa is the place. It offers a French cuisine with a Japanese touch in the ambiance of a traditional Kyoto townhouse. I met with two friends from Kyoto at Tsubone Bridge at 6:20 pm for our reservation. We took off our shoes and were guided to a table at the back. On the right side as we passed by, we saw a wine cellar where the chef stores a variety of wines that pair well with the dishes. They focus on using low oil and low salt, which is popular among women. We opted for the "Chef's Omakase Course" for 10,000 yen per person that day. Starting with the appetizer "Salmon Marinade," we enjoyed dishes like "Hamaguri Burgundy Style" and "Zuwai Crab Cake with Scallop." Each dish was meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. My two female friends were very pleased. The final tea was served in a demi-cup, which was a nice light finish. The combination of the staff and the chef was great, and the two and a half hours flew by. We shared a bottle of white wine among the three of us, which was just right. The wine was a bit pricey, typical for Gion, but the food was definitely worth the cost. If you're curious, why not stop by and check it out?

It is a small restaurant along the river. The cost performance is very good, and I ate until I was full. It has a calm atmosphere.

Located in a great location with a view of the Shirakawa River from the window, this restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The Italian cuisine served in the traditional townhouse with a sunken hearth is both unique and fitting for Kyoto.

You'll be surprised by the value for money at this prime location in Kyoto for lunch. From the bread to the coffee, everything is delicious. The refined taste of Kyoto is evident. The open kitchen showcases efficient and skillful cooking. While there are many high-end restaurants in the area, they don't turn away first-time visitors. Some restaurants in Kyoto dislike becoming touristy, so I was worried since my companion was a foreigner, but when we made a reservation the day before, they immediately said ok. My companion was delighted and said it was the best memory of a Japanese restaurant they've been to. Many guests expect a certain level of elegance and ambiance, so dress stylishly, keep noise to a minimum, and enjoy a refined afternoon. I have visited this restaurant under a different name when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The interior remains the same with a pleasant traditional Japanese style. The seasons of cherry blossoms, autumn leaves, and snow make the location even more priceless. Definitely worth a visit.

I received a rare sake that seems hard to find even in Kubota's hometown. It was easy to drink, light, and refreshing. The menchi katsu, similar to Uribo's, had a slightly pink meat juice. The clams had a sandy texture in my mouth, and even though I didn't mention it to the staff, I could see sand remaining in the shells, but they probably didn't notice. The butter and vinegar sauce didn't suit my taste. The most memorable delicious thing was probably the Kubota sake. I don't think I found anything particularly tasty, maybe because I was tired. The restaurant was completely non-smoking.

This is a shop next to Junge Bridge. I came here to celebrate my birthday. This time, I ordered a la carte. I had a salad with grouper and tomatoes, corn and eel fritters, Iberico pork with salt koji, peach flan with thigh meat, spring rolls with prosciutto, shiso, and cheese. The white wine was Macon Blanc and the red wine was Minuty. All the dishes were delicious. The wine list at this restaurant was fantastic. They had a great selection of famous French wines. The Minuty was decanted halfway, which enhanced its aroma and made it smoother. They offer high-quality wines at a great price.

I visited YAMADA Bistro & Wine Salon for dinner, recommended by Terawaki Yasufumi on TV. The restaurant is located in a place where Le Sarment D'or used to be, with a lot of charm. We had the omakase course for 10,000 yen (excluding tax) and everything was delicious, just as mentioned on TV. The bread, especially, was flown in from France half-thawed and cooked again at the restaurant, and it was incredibly tasty. We even asked for seconds. The wine selection was good and reasonably priced, and I enjoyed having wine paired with the dishes. They also offer a great lunch deal, so I'd like to go back for that. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant in the Gion area for a variety of occasions. I just wish they had more options for by-the-glass wines.
