I had been curious about this place as I passed by often, and finally came with a friend. The design of the shop is quite nice. I was a bit interested in the menu, and wished they had more traditional drinks available. However, the staff and owner were very nice and made it a pleasant experience to enjoy some drinks. It was our second stop of the night, so we ended up enjoying the drinks a bit too much and forgot to take photos of the food and drinks.

A standing bar opened in Gion, with a renovated traditional Kyoto townhouse. They offer about 50 types of craft beer and sake each, totaling to around 100 varieties to choose from. It's a delightful place where you can find your favorite alcohol easily!

On my way back from visiting Isawa Shinzaburo Hanpu after work, I found this place called "Yamaneko." I ordered a pint of Kyoto Brewing's "Summer Whim 2023" and nikujaga. The beer had a sweet, juicy aroma similar to fruit and a light alcohol content of 4.5%. The nikujaga was also light and delicious. The charming female staff runs the place. Thank you for the meal.

Located in a corner of the flower district Gion, this standing bar is housed in a charming Kyoto townhouse. It offers a lineup of 8 Kyoto craft beers on tap, over 40 types of bottled beer, and 50 varieties of Kyoto sake. Craft beers are priced at 900 yen for a half glass and 1400 yen for a pint, reflecting Gion's prices. The food menu ranges from 700 to 1000 yen per dish, so ordering multiple items can add up. Recommended orders include the Himari Red IPA (900 yen for a half glass) and the Miyazu Takenaka Canned Sardines in Oil (1000 yen). Despite being a standing bar, there are chairs available. Open from 11 am, it's perfect for a daytime drink.

There is a standing bar in the Gion area that is open for lunch. The interior is stylish, renovated from a traditional Kyoto townhouse. They offer a variety of dishes related to Maizuru. The nikujaga (meat and potato stew) is delicious. I felt like having some white rice, but unfortunately they don't have any rice dishes on the menu.

Before 5 o'clock on a holiday. I went to climb Mt. Atago during the day and stopped by on the way back. It is located just north of Gion Kageki. The staff are all cute, student-like girls, and I thought it was a soft girls' bar. In a good way, it doesn't feel like a standing bar. The counter is for standing, but there are high chairs where you can sit. It opens at 11 o'clock and it's great that you can drink during the day. All craft beers are Kyoto brands, and this time I chose the refreshing Yuzu White and my favorite Destino. A half pint costs ¥900, and the speed menu is ¥800 for 2 items, which is a bit expensive, but it's Gion after all. But it's nice that there is no cover charge. When the sparkling girls and student couples came in, and I finished my beer, I left the store, and they even saw me off outside the store. As expected of a store in Gion, it's well-run. Atago Mountain, the arrival at the entrance was at 12 o'clock, which was a very late schedule. Despite the weather, there were surprisingly few visitors entering the mountain. I bought a station bento at Kyoto Station and had lunch at the mountaintop, and a group of white people noticed me and said, "Oh bento box!"

It was a restaurant that incorporates the flavors of northern Kyoto. The prices are a bit high, similar to Gion area, even though it's a standing bar. There were many different types of Japanese sake available.
