First visit. I had never been here before, but I came with my girlfriend. We had to wait a bit because it was lunchtime, but we were seated relatively quickly. I was surprised by the wide variety of options! And they were really delicious, I felt that chain restaurants should not be underestimated!

Baked cheese pasta with Setouchi oysters and grilled bacon, topped with rich and gooey double cheese. A dish that cheese lovers will adore. In a nutshell, it's a cheesy seafood and vegetable pasta. The cheese hardens when it cools, so it's a race against time. I enjoyed it while it was piping hot. It's quite filling, so make sure you come hungry. Definitely give it a try! (^o^)

I happened to pass by before noon, so I decided to visit this restaurant after a long time. The parking lot was almost full with only a few spaces left, and it was quite small. As soon as I sat down, there were already a few people waiting. I ordered the daily special, which was "Clam Tomato Cream Pasta," and I added extra noodles for an additional 250 yen. I also ordered a salad and garlic toast. It was quite crowded, so I had to wait a while. The clam tomato cream pasta was served in a large portion, but there weren't many clams. The noodles were slightly overcooked, and the tomato cream sauce was rich but lacked in flavor. I added some spicy oil from the condiments on the table. It seemed like people were taking their time after eating, so the turnover might be slow on that day.

I visited this place after shopping for the first time in a while. The shops in Kitayama, Iwagasaki, and the north of Kyoto have all disappeared, so I haven't been able to come here easily. It was Sunday night, so the parking lot was full, with about 4 groups waiting. However, I was seated in about 10 minutes. They had a summer campaign with Uni pasta, so I ordered the Uni Carbonara for 1,190 yen (excluding tax) and the Shrimp and Bacon in Garlic Tomato Sauce for 730 yen (excluding tax). The dishes came out in less than 10 minutes. The Uni was quite generous in the Carbonara, and it came with Bacon and Asatsuki cream sauce. The Shrimp and Bacon in Garlic Tomato Sauce had basil leaves on top. I shared these dishes. I drizzled a little soy sauce, mixed it with Uni, and... the Uni flavor came through nicely, creating a delicious sauce. The noodles were al dente and tasty. Overall, the Tomato sauce with garlic was average but not bad. Adding some powdered cheese and a bit of spice made it even better. So, the summer campaign items seem quite good. The Uni Capellini also looks delicious. The prices are reasonable too. However, it seems the campaign has ended. I guess we'll have to wait until next year... 3.3

The rich sauce was delicious. There were many customers on the holiday afternoon. It's convenient to be able to order with a tablet.

This is my second time at this store. The food was delicious, but they did not take any measures to prevent crowding while customers were waiting, so I have to deduct points for this.

I went to Jolly Pasta for the first time in several years. The menu was so diverse that I had a hard time deciding! Should I go for the creamy beef Bolognese or the Mozzarella Carbonara? I ended up ordering the Mozzarella Carbonara. It's Carbonara pasta with Mozzarella cheese. It was just delicious. Some people might not like the Mozzarella! Haha. It was a treat. Thank you for the meal.

"After sports, I had an easy-to-eat pasta for recovery purposes with taurine-infused shellfish menu, and a spicy tomato soup with seafood. The tomato sauce was smooth and easy to eat. The soup with seafood essence was also good. The pasta is more like something you "slurp" than eat. Just be careful not to slurp too vigorously or the soup might splash. Let's slurp quietly, especially those wearing white clothes. I would like to visit again after exercising."

I went to Jolly Pasta at the intersection of Route 9 and Katsura River Road for the first time in a while. This time, I had the "Melty Beef Bolognese" for 930 yen (excluding tax). It comes with a separate plate of grated Parmesan cheese, which you can sprinkle generously over the pasta. If that's not enough, you can add more cheese from the Parmesan cheese on the table. Thanks to this, I didn't feel any lack of cheese, which was great for a cheese lover like me. The pasta was generously coated with meat sauce, and the volume was sufficient. The block of beef on top was truly melty and delicious. I also ordered two pieces of garlic toast for 190 yen (excluding tax) to share with my partner. They were freshly baked and the garlic flavor was just right to stimulate the appetite, making it a nice side dish. We finished our meal quickly and left the restaurant, but among pasta chain restaurants, I really like Jolly Pasta for its affordability and generous portions. I think it's because of this type of restaurant that you can feel a sense of satisfaction beyond the price. Thank you for the meal.

I sometimes use this place when I feel like having a light pasta meal. Every time I come here, even though there are dozens of menu options, I end up ordering the Bolognese meat sauce for some reason. I always ask for the large portion, and I think I just really like this simple meat sauce. It's quite meaty with onions... and that's it? (laughs) I occasionally try other pasta dishes, but I always come back to this one. It's not incredibly delicious or anything, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but personally, I start with this and then move on to the cheese. After eating, I always feel satisfied and enveloped in a sense of fulfillment. I prefer my noodles to be cooked just right, and this place always gets the pasta texture perfect. Since the rice croquettes were discontinued, I sometimes order the garlic toast, which is decent. Thank you for the meal as always!

[July 6, 2014 Revisited] I received my shareholder benefits this year, so I remembered Jolly Pasta and decided to visit with my family of three. This time, I had the "Bacon Pizza" for 490 yen and the "Five Vegetable and Pancetta Spaghetti Aglio e Olio" for 890 yen. The bacon pizza had a thin and crispy crust, allowing you to taste the cheese and bacon directly. It's a good balance. Unlike delivery pizzas with thick crusts, this pizza is light enough to be shared as a side dish with pasta. The price is reasonable too. The Five Vegetable and Pancetta Spaghetti Aglio e Olio looked like a healthy dish with lots of vegetables. I couldn't quite identify the fifth vegetable, besides the red and yellow bell peppers, spinach, and onions. The pancetta was thinly sliced and mixed well with the pasta. However, the dish turned out slightly watery, probably due to the abundance of vegetables. Personally, I'm not a fan of spinach in pasta due to its bitterness. Maybe it's just my childlike taste buds (laughs). Overall, I usually pay with cash only a little at Jolly Pasta, which makes it one of my favorite places. Thank you for the meal. [September 2013] Using Zencho's shareholder benefits, I occasionally visit Jolly Pasta, a restaurant located at the intersection of National Route 9 and Katsuragawa Kaido. This time, I had the Bacon Spaghetti Aglio e Olio for 580 yen and the Bacon Pizza for 480 yen. The pasta was cooked al dente, with a good amount of garlic and chunky bacon. I thought the bacon could have been cooked a bit longer to bring out more flavor, but it was still satisfying. The pizza had a thin and crispy crust, baked in a stone oven. For the price of 480 yen, it was more than enough. Personally, I prefer crispy crust pizzas, but this one felt more authentic. Compared to other pasta chain restaurants, I think Jolly Pasta is doing a good job. Their noodles are tastier than those at Saizeriya, and for 580 yen, you get a generous portion of bacon in your pasta. It's impressive how they manage to offer such quality at a reasonable price. Japan is truly a great country where you can enjoy such meals at affordable prices. Thank you for the meal.

While out and about, we decided to have lunch at Jolly Pasta in Kyoto, Katsura. It's a well-known Italian family restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. It's great for families because you don't have to worry about the prices. The convenience factor is a hit in our household. I used to hesitate going there, thinking the food might not be good, but once I tried it, I got hooked. The variety of options and affordable prices are appealing. We ordered the new Scallop and Shrimp Flavored Cream Sauce Pasta (680 yen) and the Chorizo and Broccoli Peperoncino (680 yen). The rich sauce in the first dish was delicious, and the black olives in the second dish added a nice touch. We also tried the seasonal special, the Swai Crab. The Garlic Sautéed Seafood (380 yen) and Caesar Salad (680 yen) we had previously at a nearby Jolly Pasta were also tasty. The beer (480 yen) and white wine (180 yen!!) paired well with the food.

Jolly Pasta, located in a detached building in Katsura, is probably a chain restaurant, but I haven't seen it anywhere else. The food is delicious though! In my area, the options for pasta are limited to convenience stores or homemade, so it's hard to find authentic pasta. When I feel like eating pasta, I always come here. They have parking, so it's easy to drive there. The interior of the restaurant is like an "Italian dining hall." I've never been to Italy, but that's the vibe I get. You can even see a pizza oven and part of the kitchen, giving it an open and inviting feel. The pasta is delicious, and the pizza is also great. They have a variety of appealing side dishes, which can add up and make it a bit pricey, but it's totally worth it for the taste and value!

Jolly Pasta is delicious no matter which location you go to. The taste is consistent across all Jolly Pasta restaurants. They offer a variety of menu options like aglio e olio, tomato sauce, and cream sauce. While chain restaurants may receive around 3 stars on review sites, the quality at individual Jolly Pasta restaurants is quite impressive. If you want a reliable meal without the risk of disappointment, this is a great choice.

The first floor is a parking lot, and the second floor is a store. The interior is divided into small tables (there are also sofa seats in the back), and even though it was crowded, we were seated quickly. It seems that all seats are non-smoking on weekends and holidays. We had to wait a long time from ordering to the food arriving. I ordered the rich tomato soup pasta with shrimp (1134 yen). It came with two large shrimp and dumplings, very filling. The soup was delicious, but I felt the price was a bit high.

I went to lunch with a friend at an Italian restaurant called Jolly Pasta. The parking was convenient, right below the restaurant. We climbed the stairs, opened the door, and there was a short wait. After about 10 minutes, we were seated and enjoyed pasta with soup. The soup varied daily. I had eggplant and tomato pasta, while my friend had seafood pasta. It was delicious, and the bright atmosphere made me want to visit again.

Jolly Pasta Katsura branch is located along Route 9 in the north side of Katsura in Kyoto. I went there because the kids wanted to eat pasta. I had the Bacon Peperoncino for 609 yen and the White Pizza Carbonara for 819 yen. Please be aware that the prices written in large font are excluding tax. The pasta was okay but slightly oily. The pizza, on the other hand, was quite delicious. It had a soft-boiled egg in the center which added a nice flavor. The portion size for both the pasta and pizza was a bit small, and overall, I felt that the prices were on the higher side.
