I have relied on this restaurant for dinner many times. They always greet me warmly and cheerfully as soon as I enter the shop. In addition to a variety of drinks, they also have a wide selection of food menu items. You can also use the bar area. I recommend trying their fried potatoes! They probably offer the most delicious fried potatoes in Kyoto! All the menu items come in generous portions and the cost performance is excellent. This restaurant makes me want to come back again!

(Blog post) I was drinking with my gym friends near Kawaramachi. For the second bar, we decided to try "Reggae Izakaya" located in Clarion Building. Reggae Izakaya: We took the elevator up to the 5th floor where the entrance of the restaurant was located. It was a bit unusual as we had to take off our shoes before entering. The interior had a unique club-like atmosphere with Bob Marley, the Jamaican reggae musician known as the "Reggae God," depicted on fabrics hanging on the walls. Reggae music, including Bob Marley's famous "One Love," was playing from large speakers, creating an exotic vibe. First, we made a toast. I chose a pineapple juice, imagining myself by the Caribbean Sea. We started with the crispy fried assorted spring rolls. They were piping hot and filled with plenty of ingredients. My friends opted for the original tropical cocktails made by the bartender. Jerk Chicken: A representative soul food from Jamaica, the birthplace of reggae. It was made by marinating the chicken in a spicy sauce called "jerk seasoning." The set also included popular potato salad. The Jerk Chicken had a unique spicy flavor that I had never tasted before. I decided to get another drink, and I was presented with a lovely tropical-style soft drink that was perfect for Instagram photos. It was a sweet and sour juice. Odanishu Omlette: Named after the previous owner, this omelette was like no other. I spread the mayonnaise with a spoon and enjoyed the balanced taste of the sweetened eggs and salty bacon. One Love Cocktail: An original cocktail inspired by Bob Marley's song. The timing was perfect as the song "One Love" was playing in the background. Banana Spring Rolls: A dessert made with chocolate and banana. I enjoyed the sweet chocolate coating on the banana. Overall, I had a great time experiencing the unique atmosphere of the Reggae Izakaya. It was a hidden gem where you could relax and unwind.

Located in a building on the 5th floor in an area between Kawaramachi Street and Kiyamachi Street, north of a narrow alley between Rokkaku Street and Takoyakushi Street. This hidden gem of a shop may not be well known if you're not familiar with the area. There are many hidden gems like this in the Kiyamachi area of Kyoto. The nearest stations are Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station on the subway and Sanjo Station on the Keihan line. The first floor of the building has a relatively large sign for a "Reggae Izakaya". You take a small, old elevator up to the shop at the back of the hallway. Inside, the shop is spacious with a counter and raised seating areas. You take off your shoes at the entrance before entering the shop. The interior of the shop is very unique, with tables decorated with tiles. As you get used to the atmosphere, you start to feel comfortable in the space. Previous reviews mentioned that the shop was very dark, but when I visited, the lighting was similar to that of a typical izakaya. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even fulfilling cocktail requests. There is a variety of snacks available, making it a convenient place to drink in Kiyamachi.

This is a shop on the 5th floor of a mixed-use building in Shijo, Kyoto. As soon as you enter the store, you will be surprised by the dim lighting. Low tables are placed on both sides of the aisle, which are comfortable to relax at, but a bit plain, and it can feel awkward if there are no other customers. Luckily, there were a few other customers when I visited, which made it better. The BGM is always reggae, fitting for a reggae-themed shop. I quite like reggae, so I felt very comfortable. They handed me a wet towel at the beginning, but it was a bit disappointing that it was a cheap-looking paper towel in a bag. The fresh spring rolls were incredibly delicious. Other basic dishes like fried chicken were also very well-prepared, and overall, the food was delicious. I went with another person, and we had quite a bit to eat and drink, but it was under 8000 yen, so I think the cost performance is good.

Tonight's second party was initially planned to be spontaneous without a reservation, but with 11 people, it seemed risky to just jump in without a plan. So, I asked Mackey, who seemed to know the area well, to "find a place for 11 people right now." He immediately made a call and said, "I found one!" Wow, that was fast! Just as expected! "But, the inside of the restaurant is dark, so it might be difficult to take photos for the blog..." Oh, don't worry about that! So, we all followed Mackey, and he pointed to this distinctive sign on the building, saying, "It's on the 5th floor of this building!" And that's how we ended up at this restaurant called "Rasta"! I've always been curious about this brightly colored restaurant sign! Mackey led us to the 5th floor, and we entered the restaurant. It's quite dark inside, but it's cozy sitting on the floor without shoes. We ordered some drinks and food, like draft beer and jerk chicken. The atmosphere was fun and exciting, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. But as I started feeling really drunk, I had to give up and leave early. The others were planning to go to another place, but I had to say goodbye and leave. Goodbye...

I was lured in by the name of the reggae izakaya and decided to give it a try. The interior of the restaurant had a slightly elaborate decoration as shown in the photos, making it suitable for a casual date. Nowadays, private room restaurants seem to be popular, but Reggae Izakaya Rasta is the complete opposite with only super open seating. Small round tables are lined up along the walls in a circle, and you have to take off your shoes to sit there. It's not a sunken kotatsu style seating, yet it's a surprisingly relaxing and comfortable space. The food has a bit of a spicy kick, but the seasoning is easy for anyone to enjoy and delicious. There is also a wide variety of cocktails available. The set menu is affordable, perhaps catering to students. Since it's easy to move around the seats, it's a restaurant that those who often organize drinking parties would want to keep in mind.

I went to a company drinking party. The restaurant had a slightly suspicious atmosphere. The food was a bit different from other izakayas and quite delicious. It's an ethnic-themed restaurant. Recommended for those who like spicy food, with dishes like Thai-style yakisoba, jerk chicken (which was delicious), and spicy potato salad. The staff were friendly and the restaurant had a lively atmosphere. It's a reggae izakaya, but even though we didn't really understand reggae, we felt comfortable. It seems to be quite popular and we enjoyed the lively atmosphere, especially for large company gatherings.

I went for the first time with my boyfriend and three other friends. At first, I was a little surprised by the atmosphere. It was dimly lit and we had to take off our shoes and sit back and relax... but it was quite calming. My friends were joking about coming back with a girl for a date next time (laughs). Also, the staff were very friendly and energetic. They even explained the recommended "jerk chicken" dish to us. We just planned to have a quick drink, but before we knew it, it was almost the last train. The course menu was quite a good deal, so we were already dreaming of having a drinking party first and then a date at this fun restaurant. I definitely want to go back.

One of my favorite shops! I love the atmosphere the most! You have to take off your shoes at the entrance, but the interior is relaxing like being at home. The staff are all friendly and it's a fun place to enjoy drinks. They have a wide variety of drinks, and they can make drinks that are not on the menu, so I'm always satisfied. I recommend the jerk pork for food! Once I tried it, I got addicted. At first, it took a lot of courage to enter, but now I'm hooked on Rasta. I think it's a shop worth visiting at least once.

I visited a workplace party. We had no choice but to go, so we ordered the all-you-can-drink course. The interior of the restaurant was very dark, and we sat on the floor at low tables. There were strange cloths hanging from the ceiling and South American-style decorations. The hygiene of the place was concerning. The course was more like snacks, almost like sweets. I was surprised when they served shrimp crackers that you can buy anywhere... It was definitely junk food. The food was not tasty at all (well, there wasn't really any proper food served anyway...). However, the woman in her 30s who chose this restaurant was praising it as delicious. I realized that people have different taste preferences. The alcohol was weak overall, probably because it was all-you-can-drink. It was surprisingly diluted. I felt like saying to my drink, "Are you juice?" I personally would not go back to this place.
