Located along Kitaoji Street, there is a teppanyaki restaurant that I have always been curious about. Despite the pandemic, they are working hard to stay open. My family of four decided to visit for the first time. Upon entering, we were greeted by cheerful and lively staff. They were very considerate towards the children, and our first impression was excellent. We were seated in a room with a large teppan and quickly looked through the menu. To my delight, I found various types of "monjayaki" on the first page! There are not many places in Kyoto where you can eat monjayaki, so I immediately placed an order. We also ordered grilled squid with salt, oysters with butter soy sauce, teppan rolled omelette, and yakisoba. Now, the monjayaki. The part-time staff quickly cooked it for us. It was a mostly unknown dish to us, but oh, it was delicious! Both adults and children devoured it silently with the spatula (laughs). The "grilled squid with salt" and "oysters with butter soy sauce" were perfectly cooked, bringing out the delicious flavors of the squid and oysters, which paired well with alcohol. The "yakisoba" was also chewy and, of course, delicious! This place quickly became a favorite, and we revisited a week later (laughs). The cozy atmosphere makes me want to visit again and again!
