This is mostly a personal log. There is a bar in Pontocho where you can see the Kamo River from two seats. They offer craft beer, highballs, and cocktails. On this day, there were two women besides us. The female bartender was friendly, and we ended up going to another bar where she works (Shocker in Sanjo, a bar that opens at midnight). It's a cozy and comfortable place, perfect for a light drink to end the night.

Friday, 7:15 PM, Beer Bar Miyama 162 Located in Pontocho. When you open the door leading to the second floor, you'll find one customer already there. I ended up sitting across from the owner. They were friendly and easy to talk to. The bar had six taps running that day. They only serve Kyoto's local beers on tap, and they also have canned and bottled options. When asked what I usually drink, I mentioned that I like Weizens and Ales but not dark beers. The owner recommended a drink that would suit my taste. I decided to go with a draft beer since I often drink Kyoto Brewing beers, but only had tried their Kuroshio Gotoshoku (Stout) before. I chose between Kyoto Brewing's Kogai Fude (R) for 990 yen or AsoBi Pale Ale (R) from Kakehashi Brewery for 920 yen. The regular size costs around 1,000 yen, and the large size costs 1,500 yen. The appetizers that day were Shibazuke and Cream Cheese for 500 yen. It's a great place to enjoy Kyoto through beer for tourists. It's a friendly craft beer bar where you can have a good conversation with anyone. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I enjoyed a light drink while gazing at the Kamogawa River at the beer bar "Miyama 162", located just off Shijo Street in a small alley in Pontocho. This bar has a small counter with a variety of craft beers and craft gins, all of which are quite rare. I tried the "Strong White Ale Tansetsu", which comes in three different sizes, allowing you to try different varieties. The best seat in the house is the solo seat facing the Kamogawa River. From the small window, you can see the town of Gion across the river, and further in the distance, the mountains of Higashiyama. The staff is friendly, and you are guaranteed to have a great time here.

Around 7:00 PM on Saturday. Only one person can enter first. There are about 6 types of freshly squeezed, Kyoto-brewed taps. The food is smoked dishes. The beer is delicious, and the staff are fun guys who made the atmosphere lively.

I was able to try 5 types of craft beer on draft! When I took a sip, the foam overflowed and the flavor was amazing! It was a very delicious beer!! The walnut chocolate was delicious and worth repeating! Highly recommended!
