I visited Ushizen in Shijo-Karasuma and enjoyed their all-you-can-eat beef sukiyaki. I also had a cassis orange drink. The all-you-can-eat menu included beef, vegetable set, Kyoto vegetable set, raw egg, udon, and warishita sauce. The beef was from America and very delicious, thinly sliced and cooked quickly to tender perfection. The vegetables included various Kyoto vegetables. The meal ended with udon, which was also tasty. The restaurant is conveniently located just a minute's walk from Shijo-Karasuma. Thank you for the meal. I would love to go back again.

All-you-can-eat Shabu-shabu and Sukiyaki for only 3180 yen! The private tatami room is clean and relaxing. The meat quality is really good! It's thin so you can eat a lot. The sauces like ponzu, sesame, and egg are delicious and you won't get tired of them. They seem to use Kyoto vegetables for the vegetables. I was happy to see fresh wheat gluten. I plan to come back often.

I think the all-you-can-eat sukiyaki in Kawaramachi is a great deal. I chose half sukiyaki and half shabu-shabu with domestic beef and pork. However, there aren't many vegetables and side dishes.

Directly connected to Shijo Subway Station. The subway station itself is not very stylish, but once you enter the shop, the interior is beautiful. This is a shabu-shabu restaurant, but they also serve sukiyaki. Four girls ordered three servings of meat, with the minimum order being two servings. They ordered five slices of domestic beef per serving, and it cost around 2700 yen, so I wonder if the all-you-can-eat course would have been a better deal? The food was delicious, but we were not completely satisfied. We heard that vegetables and mochi would be served, but the mochi was very small and of poor quality... For dessert, we had udon. We also ordered a few side dishes, and even though the place wasn't very crowded, it took a long time for them to arrive, making us wonder if our order had gone through multiple times. The accessibility was good, but overall...hmm. Thank you for the meal.

I had made a reservation so everything was fine, but when I tried to enter the restaurant, there was a line inside as well! Moreover, judging from the luggage, it seemed like foreign customers. In the heart of Kyoto, there are only tourists. It was a long time since I had all-you-can-eat beef shabu-shabu!! However, I couldn't find anything outstanding. I was satisfied with the amount of food. There were a lot of foreign tourists, in fact, almost everyone except us was a foreigner. That was impressive. The service was good, they responded immediately when called, bringing the meat without any delay.

<Access> A short walk from Ayanokoji Karasuma, northeast corner of the 5th Nagatani Building, basement 1st floor.
<Appearance, Interior> Inside the restaurant, I saw table seating and semi-private tatami seating.
<Order Items> All-you-can-eat Cold Yellowtail & Shabu-Shabu
Men: ¥3500 (Yellowtail shabu-shabu, yellowtail sashimi, fried yellowtail, beef shabu-shabu, vegetables, udon, rice)
Women: ¥2990
<Impression> I was really looking forward to the all-you-can-eat cold yellowtail and shabu-shabu. Around 7:00 PM on a Sunday, the restaurant was almost full. The customers were about 70% Japanese and 30% foreigners, possibly listed in guidebooks. I tried the all-you-can-eat cold yellowtail and shabu-shabu, and it was quite a feast. The yellowtail had a great fat content, but I realized that I couldn't eat much of it. However, it was delicious. The beef was okay, but the yellowtail itself was quite good. Most of the other customers seemed to be going for the "steak and shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat" option.

When it comes to Kyoto, I usually prefer to go to high-end kaiseki restaurants, but this time, I went on a trip with 5 friends and we decided to have a lively girls' night out at a shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat restaurant. The price was only 1980 yen per person! However, there were some issues with the service. One of my friends cannot drink alcohol, so she ordered a soft drink. When the server repeated the order, they mentioned "sour," so my friend clarified that she wanted a non-alcoholic drink. However, the drink that was served had a taste of alcohol in it. My friend stopped eating and looked unwell, so we asked the server if there was alcohol in the drink. They apologized and took it away. Later, a woman (maybe the manager?) came over, but instead of apologizing, she confidently stated, "Our DRINK-making machine is different, so there is no way we could have made a mistake." We were all shocked. The servers then chatted among themselves in front of the customers. This was the first time experiencing such a thing at a restaurant. One of my friends felt drunk from the drink that shouldn't have had alcohol. Whether it was true or not remains a mystery, but the atmosphere was not pleasant. Despite it being all-you-can-eat, we decided to leave early. The meat was surprisingly cheap, and the location was convenient, being close to the station. It was a bit disappointing.

At Gyuzen located on the B1 floor below the intersection of Shijo and Karasuma in Kyoto, we had a company year-end party. We enjoyed a 120-minute all-you-can-eat sukiyaki and shabu-shabu. The hot pot was divided in half, allowing us to enjoy two different types of dishes. Unfortunately, the meat was dry and not very tasty. Despite it being all-you-can-eat, I wished for better quality meat. The vegetables included grilled tofu, shirataki noodles, green onions, enoki mushrooms, and for the finale, a choice between udon noodles or mochi. While I appreciate the all-you-can-eat option, I hope for more delicious options in the future.

The reviewer visited a restaurant called "Gyuzen" with their colleagues and chose the "Shabu-shabu & Steak All-You-Can-Eat" course. They were initially concerned about the quality of the steak as it was American beef, but their colleagues enjoyed it, mentioning that it had a good amount of meat without much marbling. The reviewer was impressed by the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the service at the restaurant, and speculated that their colleagues might even leave a positive review on a food review website.

I use this restaurant about once every few months. With a coupon, it costs around 2500 yen, so even if you order two drinks, it's still in the low 3000 yen range per person. Cheap!!! The service from the female staff is not bad, but there is one male staff member who is very friendly and leaves a great impression, while another male staff member seemed a bit unfriendly and lacked enthusiasm. However, I think the meat and vegetables are delicious for the price! The drinks come out quickly, so you can eat in a short amount of time. Also, even after closing time, they didn't rush us and told us to take our time, so we were able to relax. Overall, I really like this restaurant. You can eat a lot without feeling guilty, and I plan to go back again!

The other day, I visited a restaurant. It was a Saturday, but due to the rain, there were fewer customers. I decided to order the pork shabu-shabu, which looked good. The food and service were good, but I wished there were non-smoking seats. As a family who doesn't like smoking, the smoke from people around us bothered us. There were empty tables nearby, but they seemed to seat customers closer together for easier cleanup. I thought if there were non-smoking seats further away... This is why I didn't choose "suitable for occasions like this" and "with family/kids" options.

There are tatami seating available, but the main seating is at tables. The atmosphere is open and bright, and the prices are very reasonable! It's great for everyday dining. The fact that it's directly connected to Shijo Station on the subway line makes it very convenient. However, be aware that it can get crowded during weekend dinner times, so be prepared for that. The all-you-can-eat option for premium beef and selected pork shabu-shabu for 3500 yen is much cheaper and satisfying compared to other places with all-you-can-drink options. This makes it easy for young friend groups to come and enjoy. The clientele is mostly in their 20s and 30s. Fancy restaurants can be intimidating, so it's nice to gather with close friends around a hot pot in a casual place like this. Chain restaurants can sometimes be a gamble with taste, but this one was actually quite delicious. Since it's table seating, it can get a bit noisy, but personally, it didn't bother me too much. Not recommended for those who prefer a quiet dining experience. I personally prefer shabu-shabu over sukiyaki here. Shijo Station has good access to Nara and Osaka, so I'd love to gather with friends for a shabu-shabu party once a year.Visited again in February 2009, so I updated the review slightly.

My partner wanted to eat sukiyaki and I wanted to eat shabu-shabu, and we found a restaurant that offers both - Coco Gyuzen! The hot pot is divided in the middle, so we could enjoy both dishes at the same time. And it's all you can eat! The two different flavors kept things interesting and we ended up eating a lot. Even the cheapest meat option was delicious and not too fatty. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great for dates or hanging out with coworkers. The staff were friendly and quick to bring out refills of meat and vegetables. It was quite busy, so making a reservation for meal times might be a good idea.

I was able to relax and have a nice chat in a private room. The all-you-can-eat option was reasonably priced and satisfying. I will definitely come back again. The fact that it's close to the station is also a plus. ✨
