Opened in 2006, Parlor Ekoda is a popular bakery located in the middle of a residential area near Ekoda Station and Shin-Sakuradai Station (relocated in 2015). Its sister store, Machi no Parlor, opened in May 2011 in Kotakimukaihara (within the grounds of a nursery school). The owner, Mr. Harada, started working as a cafe staff member at "Zopf," which greatly influenced him. The bakery opens at 8:30 in the morning and is always crowded due to its popularity for dining in. I visited just before closing time on a Sunday at around 5:40 PM, so there were only a few bread options left, but luckily, my favorite bread was still available. Even at closing time, many customers continued to arrive. The bakery mainly offers hard bread, but they also have sandwiches, quiches, and more. There is a mill on one side of the shop where they grind wheat to make some of the bread they serve. Some of the items available include: Fig and Walnut Compote for 367 yen, Cheese Rustic (Gouda Cheese) for 367 yen, Fruit Tart (Half) for 367 yen, and Pecan Nut Tart for 453 yen. The hard bread at Parlor has a crispy crust on the outside while being moist and chewy on the inside. It is flavorful and made with high-quality wheat (such as from Hokkaido). The variety of bread, with different fillings and textures, ensures that you won't get tired of it. The sandwiches are also made with care, using homemade ham, sausages, roast beef, cheese from Hachijo Island, and homemade mustard. They offer a variety of Horikoshi coffee and natural wines, making it a great place for coffee or drinks. Having Parlor nearby truly enriches one's life. Thank you for the delicious meal!
