When it comes to cakes in Akasaka, this place is the go-to spot. Regardless of the genre, this place is often mentioned when talking about Akasaka, and it seems to be a popular choice for TBS staff. The shop is small, but during lunchtime or in the evening, there are often lines forming outside. The cream puffs here are especially famous. The small cream puffs are filled to the brim with rich custard cream, exuding elegance and a nostalgic flavor. I remember watching a scene in a drama where a character brought these cream puffs as a gift, which made me crave them for months. I visited around 5:30 pm on a weekday, and unfortunately, the cream puffs were sold out, but they had their top item, the "rare cheesecake." The cheesecake was small but packed with a subtle hint of lemon, a refreshing citrus touch that paired well with the creamy and crunchy base. The pistachio on top added a delicate touch. I also tried their lemon pie, which had a mild citric acid flavor, a well-balanced combination of cream and bavarois, showcasing the skill of this longstanding establishment. All the sweets here are charmingly petite in size, and the prices are very reasonable. Their pastries may not have the flashy designs that some modern patissiers offer, but their modest and slightly retro appearance is quite appealing. I also bought some fruit tarts to enjoy as a nightcap later on. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

Sweets, Akasaka Mitsuke, Western confectionery Shirotate. Arrived at 15:15 on Saturday. For eat-in, line up on the right side of the shop. For take-out, line up on the left side (about 15 people each). After waiting for about 20 minutes, I ordered a cream puff for take-out. The soft pastry was filled with plenty of custard that was not too rich or too light, but had a nice richness with a lot of egg. It was incredibly delicious! Thank you for the happiness for 220 yen!

This is a shop famous for its rare cheesecake. However, the financiers this time were disappointing in taste. The texture of the cake was too firm. I asked for them as souvenirs this time, so there were no fresh cakes, only baked goods. But I still want to try the highly recommended rare cheesecake.

Just before closing, I managed to slip into the small shop where there were already three groups inside. Three more groups were waiting outside. I got the famous rare cheesecake along with lemon pie, raspberry, and roll cake. I wonder if there were more options available earlier in the day?

Those who know, know. It only takes a 5-minute walk from Akasaka-mitsuke Station. The entrance, the service of the staff, everything is top-notch. This amazing shop competes solely on the taste of their sweets without a website. The entrance is impressive, but it's easygoing to enter. The cafe on the second floor had nearly 20 people waiting when I visited around 3:15 pm on a weekday. It seemed like a one-hour wait. Only 3 people were waiting for takeout, and I quickly placed my order. However, the showcase was quite empty. I should have come earlier. Oh no, the cream puffs are sold out! Will they come out again? Oh well, today can't be helped. I bought a rare cheesecake, and there were still more options available! A raspberry pastry and one more. Oh, I'll buy some baked goods too! Financier, madeleine, pound cake. I can't wait to get home! Let's try them. The cheesecake was impressive with the richness of cheese and the acidity of lemon perfectly balanced. It's hard to stop eating. The cheese doesn't overpower the delicate flavors but still has a strong presence. A delicious cheesecake that seems simple yet unique. The raspberry pastry had a nice texture and a strong flavor. This shop is top-notch. I will definitely come back! Thank you for the delicious meal. It was really delicious! (^^)

The cheesecake was truly delicious. The soft and mild flavored cheese was really tasty. It was easy to eat with a reasonable price of 300 yen each. I visited around 5 pm and was able to purchase without much waiting.

I visited a event at Matsuya. Matsuya doesn't usually have long lines, but the line for this event was crazy. I wanted to buy the cream puffs but couldn't. What a shame. I think this shop's simple baked goods like cookies, cheesecakes, and cream puffs are more delicious than their fruit cakes. The lemon pie has a great crispy crust at the bottom! The cheesecake is rich. One slice is quite filling. But it's simple and delicious with a sweet and sour taste. It's a must to have their cakes with a cup of tea or coffee.

I visited during the busy afternoon hours. The cheesecake was definitely the most popular item, with the larger sizes selling out quickly. The staff were attentive to each customer, so it was necessary to relax and wait patiently. The cheesecake had a unique firmness and tanginess, not too sweet, making it irresistible. I would love to visit again.

I visited a cafe on Saturday. I arrived around 11 o'clock and waited for about 20 minutes. The cafe has few seats, so the turnover is slow. I ordered a slice of rare cheesecake and a cafe au lait. I was able to relax and enjoy my time at the table. The rare cheesecake was not too sweet and had a nice cheese flavor, while the cafe au lait was slightly sweet. The total for both items was 750 yen, which is a great deal for a cafe in Akasaka. I would like to try other cakes as well, so next time I will order takeout!

After having lunch at the Kaizen-an in Akasaka, I walked for about 10 minutes to this place before lunch. Around 11 o'clock, I called ahead to reserve a rare cheesecake and a cream puff, just to be safe. When I arrived on a weekday before 1 pm, there were about 4 people waiting outside, with a sign saying that those with reservations should go inside. Inside, it was packed with about 6 people, and I couldn't get in. When I mentioned my reservation, they quickly took my order. There was a line forming inside, and the staff were very efficient... although they seemed a bit intimidating because they were so busy. I was glad I called ahead.
- Rare Cheesecake: 300 yen, about 7cm long and 2.5cm wide. It was very rich and had a tangy flavor.
- Cream Puff: 210 yen, surprisingly had a lot of cream inside. I'm glad I got to try it without waiting in line.

The rare cheesecake was excellent as always. The lemon cheese pie had a strong lemon and cheese flavor, but it was not overpowering and very delicious.

I finally visited a place that I could easily go to but hadn't gone yet because it's super hot. I bought a takeout rare cheesecake for 300 yen each. As many people had told me, the rare cheesecake was very delicious. It's a type with a restrained sweetness. I might become addicted to it if I'm not careful. I love it (^。^) I arrived around 2:10 PM on Friday and I was about the 7th person in line (with about 5 people behind me). I waited outside for about 7-8 minutes, and once inside, it took about 5 minutes to make the purchase. There were about 10 people waiting for a table in the cafe. It seems like it will take some time for them. After I finished my purchase and went outside, there were 4 people waiting outside. It's really hot today.

I visited in the early evening on a regular day and even the takeout line was long. I got a rare cheesecake with a plate on top for my birthday, and they even put a candle on it for me. The staff seemed busy but were still friendly. The rare cheesecake had a delicious and satisfying taste that doesn't get old. The reasonable prices were also a plus.

There is always a shop where people line up for delicious cakes and pastries. The 1st floor has a showcase for take-out only, which is popular for gifts and souvenirs for family members. The 2nd floor is a retro café with a lovely atmosphere. The floor is made of wood and adorned with delicate glass lamps that emit a soft light. Time seems to have stopped here, with an old-fashioned clock and cups and saucers as decorations. The polished dark brown floor shines brightly. I had the privilege of spending the entire time in this heavenly place. I love exploring cafés, and this one did not disappoint. The prices for tea and cakes are reasonable given the location. Despite the heat outside, the cool interior provided a relaxing atmosphere. The cakes, with their nostalgic aluminum foil packaging, had a rich and mellow flavor. I opted for iced tea to beat the heat. This shop was selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops in 2023. Even if it were chosen as one of the top 100 cafés, it would be well-deserved. I had a wonderful time in this charming café near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station.

For souvenirs, I went to Shirotae near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station. It's a long-established Western confectionery shop. I used to visit it when I was younger. Although their cheesecake is famous, I remember their cream puffs being delicious. They also have a cafe inside, and there can be lines sometimes. I smoothly purchased 2 cream puffs for 200 yen and 2 cheesecakes for takeout. I'm taking them to a beloved Japanese restaurant. I hope they'll be pleased.

I lined up on the stairs with 3 other groups waiting on a regular evening. There were plenty of cake options even in the evening. I ordered a slice of cheesecake and a hot milk tea. The location is in Akasaka, and 700 yen for this is quite cheap. The taste was delicious and made me feel happy.

Shirotare (Akasaka Mitsuke) It may have been because it was a holiday before the Bon Festival, but there was a line even before the store opened ⚠️ The showcase was filled with many delicious-looking cakes. The famous cheesecake came in small slices as well as large whole or square sizes! This time, I bought four varieties and shared them with my friends: Rare Cheesecake, Framboise, San Marc, and Choux Cream. The Rare Cheesecake was surprisingly rich, as if you were eating a baked one! As expected, it was the best, and my best friend and I agreed on that. The Framboise was chosen mainly because it looked cute, but it was delicious with a hint of acidity. The San Marc had a deliciously fragrant caramel on top. The Choux Cream had plenty of cream and its cute size made it easy to eat as much as you want. I feel like I want to try all the varieties now! #Shirotare #Cheesecake #RareCheesecake #Cafe #AkasakaMitsukeGourmet #AkasakaMitsukeCafe #AkasakaMitsukeLunch #AkasakaGourmet #AkasakaLunch #AkasakaCafe #TokyoCafe #TokyoSweets #TokyoCheesecake #CheesecakeMania #CheesecakeTour #CheesecakeClub

Sweets TOKYO - Top 100 shops
Located near Akasaka Mitsuke, this shop is famous for its rare cheesecake. Arrived around 3 pm on a hot weekday in August, with about 15 people lined up on the stairs to the 2nd floor cafe. Those with reservations can enter directly into the store and go to the cashier. For takeout, line up on the left side of the door. Waited with about 5 people for about 10 minutes until there was space inside the store and we were invited in. A soft-spoken, dandy uncle kindly assisted us. The cafe and shop share the same cashier, so there may be a short wait. The cheesecake for 300 yen is a must-try, with a rich and substantial taste, a hint of lemon fragrance, and a small yet impressive size. Enjoy it slowly and savor the experience. The uneven sizes of the pistachios on top are charming. The raisin cookie for 200 yen is a soft cookie with raisins and buttercream, with a hint of liquor for an adult taste. The classic rich cheesecake, unchanged over time, is still delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Cheesecake for 300 yen. I bought it while waiting in line. It's small but worth the price. The texture is smooth and it has a strong tanginess, almost like a yogurt cake. I usually like rich and cheesy cakes, but this one's delicious in its own way. The refreshing tanginess makes it easy to enjoy. It's a shame to eat it all at once, so savoring it slowly is also nice. It was delicious.

I had some errands nearby, and despite the scorching heat, I decided to stop by and was pleasantly surprised to find no line! The second floor was being used as a café, so it was quite busy with customers. The famous rare cheesecake here is made with about 80% cream cheese, along with lemon and sugar, making it a simple and gluten-free option. They prioritize the quality of each ingredient, using fresh cheese for the best taste. The prices are very reasonable, with a slice costing 300 yen, a whole 24cm cake for 3,000 yen, and a half 12cm cake for 1,500 yen. I would definitely want to buy from this shop regularly if I lived closer! If I get the chance, I'd also like to try out the café.

This cheesecake shop, which has often appeared in old manga and has been buzzing on Twitter recently, was surprisingly easy to enter when I decided to go for a snack. Timing is everything in life, isn't it? The interior of the shop has an old-fashioned atmosphere, which is quite refreshing as retro-style cafes are popular nowadays. The shop is small and there is no waiting space inside, so depending on the timing, most people may end up waiting outside. I ordered iced tea and the specialty rare cheesecake and souffle cheesecake. The iced tea was stronger than it looked, which was perfect to pair with the cakes. The souffle cheesecake had a homely taste, while the specialty rare cheesecake was indeed like eating pure cheese, very rich and satisfying. It was not too heavy and can be enjoyed even in the summer. Maybe I had too high expectations, but personally, I don't think I would wait in line for it again. If I happen to pass by and it's not crowded, I would definitely stop by to try other cakes. I also bought some baked goods as they had a wide variety and were reasonably priced, making them a good choice for souvenirs. Overall, it was a pleasant experience!
