Today I visited Romantico, an Italian restaurant located in Shirokanedai, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Romantico is a quiet restaurant tucked away in a residential area off Platinum Street. The restaurant operates with only a counter and is run by a single chef. I decided to try their lunch course priced at 5000 yen. The squid was firm and flavorful, with a great texture and a delicious taste. The ragu pasta with wild boar was chewy with just the right amount of spiciness and umami. The tagliolini was also chewy with a nice eggy texture and perfect spiciness. The fried red gurnard had a crispy texture and overall harmony in flavors. The tiramisu was smooth and delicious. Each dish highlighted the quality of the ingredients and showed delicate and unique approaches. Personally, I found the food to be very delicious. The chef may be reserved, so visitors might be surprised, but the food is fantastic and makes me want to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I made a reservation the day before and visited the restaurant. We toasted with sparkling wine. We left the dishes up to the chef. First, we had fried conger eel. The conger eel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a nice combination of tomato and mozzarella. The squid with spicy minced meat was a new and interesting taste. The zucchini was perfectly cooked. The two pasta dishes were well-balanced in flavor and portion. The beef tagliata was just the right amount and had a good balance with the vegetables. The cost performance was also good, and I was very satisfied. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal. ☺︎

【Order】Chef's choice lunch course with a glass of white wine
【Price】6300 yen
【Review】Located a 5-minute walk from Shirokanedai Station. Visited on a weekday lunchtime with a reservation. The interior has only counter seats and there were a few groups of customers already seated. The reservation was not fully booked. The lunch course is chef's choice only. Due to recent price increases, the price has gone up from 4500 yen to 5500 yen in the past 2 years, which may be a point to consider. The atmosphere is described as very quiet or somewhat tense, so it may depend on personal preference. The food overall is well-balanced and delicious, although the seasoning may be a bit strong. It would be nice to have more explanations about the ingredients. Also, it would be convenient if they accepted card payments. Thank you for the meal.

This is my second time. An Italian restaurant located in a residential area in Shirokane. It doesn't have an open feel, more like a secret hideout. The owner manages everything alone, without unnecessary interference, providing a quite dry but just right level of service. Each dish has a solid price and quality. The food is really delicious. I will definitely go again!

Best Italian! Bravo!!!! Thank you for the amazing experience. My friends brought me here to celebrate my discharge from the hospital! Thank you for bringing me here. I am grateful to have found such a wonderful restaurant. We ordered the omakase course + tripe. *For first-timers, I recommend the omakase course. Everything is delicious and reasonably priced! If ordering a la carte, the must-haves from this course in my opinion are:
- Fried eel - basil pesto, tomato, mozzarella, a blend of eel that is perfect
- Tagliolini - the simple pasta allows the impact of the ingredients to shine
- Panna cotta - the coffee sorbet paired well with the elegant taste
Note: If you arrive too late, the chef may refuse to serve you. Make sure to arrive on time for your reservation!

I visited this restaurant for a lunch meeting with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. I recommend making a reservation as the seating is limited. I reserved the chef's choice course a week in advance, which costs 5500 yen per person. The dishes were all delicious and I especially enjoyed the meat dishes. The owner is the only one running the restaurant, so orders are taken at a relaxed pace. I didn't mind the wait as the food was so good. I would like to visit for dinner next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I've always wanted to go to this restaurant! It's a stoic place where the chef runs everything alone and has eliminated anything unnecessary. Some people might feel the service is lacking, but I think it's just right. Most importantly, the food is delicious. The menu isn't extensive, but everything is tasty and has a stoic impression. I think this is a great place for a secret date.

Anago is always delicious no matter how many times you eat it. It's so delicious that you can't help but wonder why it's so good. I personally love the combination of clams and Kujo green onions in the pici. I had never seen a photo of risotto served for lunch before, so I was impressed. It was really delicious. The porchetta was also delicious, with a meaty and fragrant taste. I really love this restaurant.

Appetizer (Baccala), Octopus Ragout with Gorgonzola Gnocchi, Pork Cheese Risotto, Panna Cotta. The menu was a bit hazy in my memory, and I regret that. Priced at ¥5700 per person, Romantico is a restaurant that has also won the Eatery Award bronze. The dishes were simple but delicious! The Gnocchi and Risotto were particularly tasty. The Gnocchi was chewy, and the Risotto had a slightly burnt crust which was excellent. The Gorgonzola sauce on the Gnocchi was flavorful and I liked it. The Gnocchi had a strong potato taste. The appetizer was a bit dry, and the meat in the appetizer and main course wasn't my favorite type. The Panna Cotta had a coffee granita on top. I think it's impressive that they can serve such a variety of dishes with just one staff member, but the taste didn't wow me, and for lunch, I felt there are other places at the same price range that offer better taste and service.

This restaurant is run by a single chef, from taking reservations to cooking and serving. The chef believes that in order to serve the best dishes at the perfect timing, they can only accommodate up to 3 people at a time, even if there are empty seats. Reservations are strictly limited to one group of 3 people only. The restaurant is located about a 15-minute walk from Meguro Station (or a 5-minute walk from Shirokanedai Station), on the second floor of a building down a side street off Platinum Street. The interior has only 10 counter seats, but it feels spacious and relaxing. On the day of the visit, there were already 2 groups of 4 people, making a total of 6 guests. The lunch course costs 5000 yen and includes: Appetizer: Stuffed squid with white cuttlefish and zucchini. A dish that allows you to taste the flavor of the squid. Pasta 1: Trofie with basil pesto. A high-quality dish with short pasta that is perfectly cooked. Pasta 2: Tagliolini made with egg yolk, Pecorino, and chili pepper. My favorite dish of the day. Main course: Hokkaido pork steak. Tender and juicy, with a generous portion. Dessert: Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. Both desserts seemed to be homemade by the chef. The Panna Cotta was soft and had a pudding-like texture. The cappuccino served with the desserts was better than those from coffee specialty shops. Despite the chef's strict reputation, there was a sense of kindness in their demeanor. They paid attention to the table, ensuring timely service for drinks and water. The pasta was exceptional, with just the right portion size and a reasonable price, making it a delicious Italian dining experience.

Romantico 🧍♂️ Just 5 minutes from Shirokanedai station, the pasta and Genovese were especially delicious!!!! The atmosphere is casual, but the pasta is incredibly delicious - it feels so luxurious! It was great to go to this restaurant for lunch with everyone! Thank you for the meal! #Shirokanedai #ShirokanedaiGourmet #Romantico

I took a taxi from Meguro Station and went to an Italian restaurant called "Romantico"! (It seems to be located in Shirokanedai) It's a small restaurant in a residential area, but the food is so delicious!! The chef works silently behind the counter and quickly serves hot dishes. The dishes are unique and not something you would typically eat elsewhere, truly living up to its reputation as a top 100 restaurant with a bronze medal. The highlight for me was the dessert, panna cotta with coffee granita on top. I would love to eat that again!

I ordered the omakase course which included fried conger eel, caprese, white squid, basil, tagliolini, beef stewed in red wine, and panna cotta. I felt that if we ordered a la carte for two people, we wouldn't be able to try as many different dishes. The staff didn't provide detailed explanations of the dishes, just the names, and they didn't overly engage with us, but quietly prepared the food. They may have seemed a bit aloof, but they did make sure to see us off properly. The flavors were delicious and had a solid, reliable quality that you don't find in flashy, trendy dishes. This is definitely a restaurant I like.

All the dishes have a pure and delicious taste, which is amazing. It's remarkable how they can elevate simplicity to such a high level. I want to eat more and more of their dishes. The pasta is especially delicious. Even though there are few dishes, they are satisfying due to their volume and taste. I want to go there more often. What I ate for lunch omakase (chef's choice) was 5000 yen including tax: - Fried conger eel with tomato and mozzarella - Trofie pasta with basil - Tagliatelle with swordfish and broccoli - Pork - Bone bread with coffee

◆At the time of the visit, the information on Tabelog was 3.81 bronze and it was ranked in the top 100 restaurants in 2021. The owner of the restaurant is not very talkative, but the food is delicious and it's a great place to enjoy a meal with friends. The location has a hidden gem vibe with a stylish interior and good sunlight, making it a pleasant place to dine.
◆The counter service was minimal, but for those who prefer a more low-key dining experience, this restaurant is a good choice. The food is simple, delicious, and seems to focus on the essentials. The drink prices are reasonable, and you can sense the owner's dedication to the restaurant.
◆The meal cost 5,000 yen for a lunch course with 4 dishes, dessert, and a post-meal drink.
◆What we had:
- Fried conger eel and caprese: The delicious conger eel paired with quality tomatoes and cheese was excellent.
- Basil pasta: An authentic basil pasta with a unique and delicious taste.
- Wild boar ragu pasta: Simple and tasty.
- Hokkaido Ebetsu pork with zucchini and bell peppers: The pork could have been a bit fattier, but it was delicious when eaten with the vegetables.
- Tiramisu: An amazing tiramisu.
- Espresso
◆Additional notes:
- Reservations for groups of 4 or more are not accepted, so visiting alone may feel a bit lonely.
- There is no service charge, and the bill is fair.
◆Note:
- The Michelin and Top 100 rankings may include information from past years.
- Prices include tax.

I decided to visit a restaurant that is known for being difficult to make reservations at because the chef is highly praised. I was able to make a reservation over the phone a few days ago without any issues. Today, there were only two parties dining, and we opted for the chef's choice course. Each dish was served promptly and was delicious, including the wine which was reasonably priced. Payment is cash only. I will definitely be returning! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The restaurant gave the impression of being surprisingly spacious with only a counter, and the seating was comfortably spaced out. In this mysterious era where hard-to-book restaurants are praised, it was nice that reservations were only accepted at the last minute, making it easy to secure a spot.
Items purchased:
- Chef's Lunch Course (5,000 yen)
- "Ripe Tomato" Juice (1,000 yen)
The Chef's Lunch Course included various dishes such as crispy fried conger eel, pasta with wild boar ragu, pasta with tomato and Stracchino cheese, roasted pork from Shimanto, and a choice of dessert. The portions were generous and the flavors were strong and well-balanced. The dessert options were satisfying, and the herbal tea served was plentiful.
The "Ripe Tomato" juice was delicious on its own, but it was a bit too intense when paired with the rich flavors of the meal. It would have been better to have water as an option.
Overall, the service was minimal due to being understaffed, but this was acceptable as no service charge was included. The staff's hands-off approach was appreciated as it allowed for a more relaxed dining experience. While the direction of the course was not entirely to my liking, I could appreciate the high level of skill in the preparation. I look forward to revisiting in the future for a different experience, perhaps when craving more intense flavors.

It's been a while since I visited, but this place is among my top 3 favorite Italian restaurants. I always order the fried conger eel, tagliolini, and braised beef cheek in red wine. I usually opt for a la carte instead of the course menu for a quick and satisfying meal. It's a great place for a quick first stop, without lingering around.

"Romantico" blends in with the residential area of Shirokanedai. It's a cozy restaurant with only six seats at the counter. I was invited by a friend who is a fan of this place, and they made a reservation for us in advance. My friend recommended the chef's special course, so we went with that. The pasta dishes were both delicious, and the bread was warm and fresh. The main dish, pork, was like a cabbage roll but completely different - a unique and tasty dish. Dining while watching the chef at work was a delightful experience in terms of presentation, taste, and price.
