A friend from Tokyo came to visit, so we went together. I was surprised to see a machine at the counter slicing thin slices of raw ham. Of course, the raw ham was the first to arrive and its texture was amazing. The raw ham with peaches and burrata cheese was delicious. The pate en croute was consistently tasty. The venison meat and wine at Natsushika were also delicious. Finally, we enjoyed a vintage Japanese sake that miraculously survived the Great Hanshin Earthquake.

Bistro-style dining with game meat. First visit to "Jibie Shokudo" in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City. If you go a little north from Shijo-Nishidoin, you will see a red lantern. One of the champions from the previous Okayama tour is the owner of this restaurant. I was recommended to visit, so I decided to experience the hospitality right away. The winner is the steak of the bear's buttocks... with fat (laughs). Although I have had bear meat in a shabu-shabu style, I have never eaten it with such thickness. The bear's buttock fat has no smell, it is sweet and refreshing. It goes well with the Shiraz wine recommended. The freshly sliced prosciutto is extremely thin and smooth. Caprese-style with buffalo mozzarella. The venison pate and cheese assortment go well with the wine. A firm adult-style pudding for dessert. I can feel the dedication to the ingredients and the quality of the food, but it seems that the owner is a wine enthusiast (laughs). I begged him to explain it to me even though I don't drink. In the end, I chose an affordable Shiraz, but it was especially delicious because I received his enthusiasm. Although I didn't taste it, he is a collector of vintage champagne. He says that champagne over 40 years old doesn't necessarily have a fizzy taste. He enjoys it as a completely different drink. The quality of the ingredients and the cooking is excellent, yet the prices are reasonable. Due to the time difference in posting, I will visit soon. See you again soon. #JibieShokudo #game #gamecuisine #KyotoGourmet #KansaiGourmet #KyotoDinner #KansaiDinner #Foodies #Gourmet #Gourmetgram #Gourmettour #Foodstagram #Deliciousrestaurants #WineLovers #Wine #Bear #Ezoshika #Prosciutto #Let'sgoKyoto #Shigatsushin

The restaurant specializes in game dishes, offering a variety of game meats. The wine selection is also good, allowing for a delicious pairing with red wine. The deer meat was particularly flavorful and created a memorable experience. I would like to visit again in the future.

The most memorable thing from the specialty game shop is the raccoon bacon!! I was very surprised that you can eat raccoon?! The owner was very friendly and I had a great time talking while enjoying the meal.

Ukumaru "Game Restaurant" for Dinner This day was a small business meeting over dinner. It's about a 7-minute walk from Karasuma Station to the "Game Restaurant." A friend recommended it recently, and we decided to visit. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with a counter for 6 seats and 2 table sets. The stylish game dishes blend surprisingly well with the traditional Japanese setting. The master, who trained in France, runs the place single-handedly. He is an interesting and talkative person, surprisingly young, so be sure to ask him about his experiences. We opted for the Chef's Choice Game Course this day. While there is also an a la carte menu, we decided to go with the Chef's choice when making the reservation. We enjoyed venison as the main dish, along with boar, lamb, duck, softshell turtle, and other game meats. If you provide a budget, they will likely accommodate your preferences. With four drinks each, it came to about 30,000 yen for the two of us. The meal included dishes like spring rolls with cloud ear mushrooms, game meat pate, black beer braised boar neck, chilled onion soup, lamb shoulder roast, venison roast, and a trio of softshell turtle, boar, and jumbo nameko mushrooms. The meal was accompanied by a variety of drinks, including Italian wine, Japanese sake, and grappa for tasting. We thoroughly enjoyed the game dishes.

I was looking for a restaurant in Kyoto that serves game meat, and I came across this place so I decided to visit. I arrived around the time they opened and was the first customer, but about an hour later the place was full! The young owner and chef mentioned that it's not always like this, but I could tell it's a popular spot even though it doesn't have many reviews on Tabelog. The menu is quite small, but if you order the assorted platter, you can enjoy almost everything they offer. I ordered the assorted platter and some deer meat. The presentation of the assorted platter was beautiful. Each dish was carefully handmade and you could feel the passion and dedication put into it. The deer meat, served medium rare, was also beautifully presented. The sauce seemed to have lentils or miso in it, and it was a bit heavy for my taste, but overall, the meal was satisfying. They have a good selection of wines ranging from light to spicy to heavy, as the owner seems to be a wine enthusiast. I look forward to visiting this place again in the future. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This was my first time visiting, and the food was beyond the realm of game meat in terms of deliciousness! From the appetizers to the dessert, everything was perfect! Especially, the roasted venison was truly delicious. We were surprised and impressed, wondering if venison was always this tasty. We also liked the atmosphere of the restaurant!

The game meat and other dishes were delicious and impressive. The bear steak had an amazing texture and a sweetness from the fat. The master's service was also lovely, and I had a great time.

I made a lunch reservation, but when I arrived at the scheduled time on the day, I was told, "Oh? Did we forget to inform you? We can't serve lunch today due to construction." Despite making the reservation two days in advance and being told "We look forward to seeing you," and even providing my contact information, this kind of response was a first for me. It may not matter where you come from, but I came from a distance based on the reservation. There was no consideration for that, no apologies like "I'm sorry if my wording was unclear." I don't know how great the food they serve is, but I can't understand the owner's response. Perhaps to the owner, we were just one group of customers, but it was my wife's birthday, and we were really looking forward to it. It's unacceptable as a service industry. It's not just disappointing, but it's frustrating. I will never use this place again, but if anyone is considering using this restaurant in the future, I recommend double-checking the date and time when making a reservation.

This was my second visit. I talked too much and forgot to take pictures of the food. There are many delicious wines available. I'm not very knowledgeable about wines, so I enjoyed having the wines selected to match the dishes.

At the Gion Festival, I was drawn to the deer meat tsukune burger, I think it was? I got it to go. The outside was crispy and slightly burnt, but the inside was red and not too hot. The taste wasn't really to my liking, and because it was game meat, I got a little worried. The person who served me was very nice and handsome!
