I stopped by for a quick drink to pass the time. Shouldn't have bothered. Ordered a hot milk tea at the register. Had to wait around for a while. The cashier seemed to be in training and didn't know where to press. Another employee standing next to them was just watching. After making me wait for a bit, they finally asked if I wanted hot milk or hot tea. What was the point of making me wait? After I paid, they just said "please wait". There was a line forming for people buying bread, but there was no guidance on where to stand or how to move to the side. The employee who wasn't in training was preparing the tea, but they kept moving the tea bag up and down. They moved it so much that tea leaves were floating in the tea. They didn't let it steep properly, so the color was there but the taste was weak. The milk was also added without asking, when normally the milk and sugar are left for the customer to add. I've never had this kind of experience at any other Shizuya location.

I discovered Shizuya bakery while driving around, it was the 148th bakery I found. When in Kyoto, I always want to eat Karne. They had a variety of breads available in the morning: - Kyoto Karne for 213 yen - Pepper Karne for 223 yen - Sweet Potato for 352 yen - Makunouchi Sandwich for 584 yen I love Karne, it's delicious with the spicy onions. Karne makes a great souvenir. The egg sandwich was fluffy and delicious too.

I was asked to do some shopping while in Kyoto, and my friend, who is a Kyoto native, kindly offered to pick up some items for me. They brought back the following items for me to enjoy: Original Beef Cutlet Sandwich for 600 yen, Kyoto-style ham for 230 yen (2 pieces), Pepper ham for 240 yen, Creamy Cream Bread for 210 yen, and Karinto Manju for 150 yen. I split the items between breakfast and lunch the next day, and they were all delicious. The Kyoto-style ham sandwiches were especially tasty with extra mayo and black pepper. The Pepper ham sandwiches were also flavorful with the addition of black pepper mayo. The Beef Cutlet Sandwich was enhanced by the special sauce. The Creamy Cream Bread had a lovely custard cream scent and a perfect level of sweetness. The Karinto Manju had a crispy texture and a refined black sugar flavor. My family also enjoyed a sandwich called "Cascout" with hard French bread, boneless ham, and processed cheese, and they are looking forward to trying it again on our next trip to Kyoto. Overall, the bread and sandwiches were all delicious. Thank you for the meal.

In Kyoto, there is a bakery known for its delicious sandwiches like the simple Carne made with round French bread, ham, sliced onion, and butter, as well as a thick and fluffy egg sandwich. They also serve drinks and offer a cozy seating area for dining in. They open at 7 am, making it a perfect spot for breakfast.

I learned about a Kyoto specialty called "Carne" at this age, and it is very delicious and cheap. I bought it as a souvenir during my last visit and liked it, so this time I bought a large quantity. It is delicious when toasted in a toaster after being frozen for storage. Adding extra mayonnaise, mustard, and pepper is also good. When baked in a Balmuda toaster, the surface becomes crispy and delicious. There are plain, cheese, and pepper varieties, but my favorite is pepper. Sizuya is a bakery with several stores in Kyoto city, loved by the locals. I highly recommend their "Carne."

I love the pork cutlet sandwich, pepper cutlet, and cutlet at Sizuya. I used to buy cutlet sandwiches and cutlets at various locations in Kyoto. Recently, I've been drawn to the new pepper cutlet with a more mature black pepper flavor. However, I haven't seen the pork cutlet sandwich lately, so I have to settle for the slightly tough beef cutlet sandwich. I really love the cheap, tender, and juicy pork cutlet sandwich. It's a long-time bestseller at Sizuya. I highly recommend the pork cutlet sandwich - it's tender, thick, and delicious!

While exploring delicious foods in Kyoto, I came across a unique bakery called Shizuya that offers a special item called "Carne." It's like a burger and comes in plain or pepper flavors. I tried both and found them to be delicious, especially when toasted. The crispy bun, savory ham, onions, and mayo with a hint of pepper made for a perfect combination. I regret not buying more as they make a great quick breakfast option. I highly recommend trying this as a souvenir from Kyoto!

At the southwest corner of Karasuma-Kuramaguchi intersection, on the 1st floor of Howdy, you can often find Shizuya, a popular spot near supermarkets and stations. On this day, I happened to see some discounted items! I quickly got the Beef Cutlet & Fluffy Omelette. I enjoyed it inside the store, and the sandwich was smaller and easier to eat than it looked. The sweet and savory sauce on the beef cutlet and thick omelette made for a satisfying combination. It quickly revitalized my tired stomach and body, and I headed back home feeling content.

Famous bakery in Kyoto, SIZUYA. I had their breakfast for the first time. The simple toast with a generous spread of margarine or butter was delicious with its crispy texture. The simplicity of it made the deliciousness stand out! My husband also enjoyed his sandwich. The prices were reasonable too. I wanted to try more of their items, but this time I only had the breakfast. I would like to try their carne next time.

In Kyoto, there's a teppanyaki restaurant called Shizuya. I love their classic kusukuto that I like to partially cook at home. I always buy the same items like tartar fish, curry bread, and cheese bread, but strangely I never get tired of them. It's always nearby and never disappoints, which is great.

Supermarket attached SIZUYA - Beef Cutlet Sandwich Half ¥270 for takeout. The sauce on this cutlet sandwich was a bit sour for my taste, so next time I'll try a different one. There is an eat-in space and even before 6pm, there was a wide variety of bread available.

Pepper Kalne is my favorite. They have a charming selection of items like the Showa retro cutlet roll for their 70th anniversary, the premium gold dog, and the shrimp chili donuts. I went shopping at Daiso on the third floor first and saw that there were only a few left, so I bought bread first. Then I couldn't decide what to get after Pepper Kalne. I kept looking at the pork cutlet toppings, so I ended up buying the cutlet roll. Surprisingly, the cutlet roll tastes more like potato salad than cutlet. Pepper Kalne has a consistently delicious flavor. I enjoy it on French bread with roast ham, onion slices, and mayonnaise. Since I chew it well after the sun goes down, it's filling and tastes like two meals. (laughs) It's a good substitute for dinner.

I wanted to buy some Carne for breakfast after reading a review, so I did some research in advance and found out that Shitsuya is located near the nearest station to my accommodation. I headed straight to the shop from the station and found Carne. I bought a Pepper Carne, Beef Cutlet Sandwich, and Croquette Burger. I bought a lot of them and asked to store them in the refrigerator at my accommodation. When I went out to have dinner next to my accommodation, I was surprised to find that the shop was closed. So, I decided to have room service and went to Kuraku to buy some warm food. I bought a spring roll soup and had it with the cutlet sandwich. The next morning, I warmed up the Carne and Pepper Carne and enjoyed them. Thank you for the delicious meal!

In the past, I used to love buying the croissants from this bakery~(*^▽^*) Recently, many delicious bakeries have opened near my house, so I haven't bought from here in years!! I passed by around lunchtime today and decided to take a peek~(゜∇^d)!! They seem to have added more varieties of bread♪ There are many savory bread options as well as a wide selection of sweet breads~(ノ´∀`*) They also have seasonal items. Unfortunately, they didn't have the croissants I was looking for (/ー ̄;) So... I bought: ・Fish Burger 250 yen ・Bacon Egg Baguette S 264 yen ・Cream Puff 112 yen You can eat outside at this shop~(ノ´∀`*) They even gave me a napkin~(*^▽^*) How nice♪ As for the taste... ・Fish Burger: It's a fried white fish with lettuce and a little tartar sauce! The fish doesn't have a fishy taste, but it's not particularly delicious either!! The bread is soft, but it's not that tasty either... a bit disappointing (/ー ̄;) ・Bacon Egg Baguette S: The baguette is sprinkled with plenty of sesame seeds and baked~(ノ´∀`*) It's not crispy, but soft and simple in taste... The bacon is a lean type with not much fat, not crispy but soft and quite thick. The sunny-side-up egg is runny~(///ω///)♪ A little ketchup makes it tasty(〃^ー^〃) ・Cream Puff: Soft choux pastry with a nostalgic taste♪ The custard isn't a fragrant one with vanilla beans, nor is it a bread custard, but a homemade custard♪ It has a familiar taste...☆⌒(*^∇゜)v It's quite big~(゜∇^d)!! With the rise of more delicious but expensive bakeries lately, this bakery is doing its best♪ I'll have to try the croissants next time~(ノ´∀`*)

Shizu-ya is open early in the morning and offers counter seats inside and terrace seats outside. It is popular among housewives and elderly people for a light meal break while shopping. They have a variety of bread including the popular Carne. The staff are average, nothing special. Around 6 PM, they sell leftover bread at a discounted price, which is a good deal.

Tsuzuya is a famous bakery in Kyoto, located at the Karasuma Kurama-guchi inside the supermarket Kuraaku Howdy. The store opens early in the morning even before Kuraaku opens. Tsuzuya offers the same products as in their main store, including Carne and Castor, but the convenience here is that you can also shop for other items simultaneously at the supermarket. My recommendation is Tsuzuya's French bread, a slim baguette cut diagonally and sold in a pack. It's easy to eat and delicious. I often pair it with sliced pineapples from Kuraaku, which makes for a satisfying breakfast or lunch. Give it a try! Highly recommended.
