There was a shop in Kyoto too. I heard that they wouldn't open in Kansai, so I'm happy. The exterior of the shop was modest, in line with Kyoto. The kushikatsu was packed with flavor, as expected from Tanaka-san, and the shrimp was plump and delicious. I was told that I could drink cheaply if I bought a drink pass, so I bought one and was lucky to drink cheaply. I will definitely visit again.

I went to eat kushikatsu after a long time, but when I arrived, it was full! I waited a bit and finally got in. It was delicious, but I can't keep eating kushikatsu forever (laughs). Starting to feel a bit heavy (laughs)

Kansai people may be picky about kushikatsu. I knew about this kushikatsu restaurant, but it's a chain, right? It's not originally from Kansai. I regret not going there with such prejudice on this day. There were plenty of varieties and interesting side dishes. Among them, I ordered the spicy lotus root kushikatsu. I'm from Kumamoto, so I was happy to order it. The outside was very crispy and the karashi (mustard) came out from the inside. It was spicy, but delicious. The karashi lotus root kushikatsu was also very tasty. They had sabi (wasabi) too, so I ordered that as well. It's not often seen in Kansai restaurants, so I'm happy about it. Thank you for the meal.

I started feeling a bit hungry, so I decided to eat somewhere. As I was walking, I came across Kushi Katsu Tanaka. Well, it's in Tokyo or Osaka, so it must be in Kyoto too. I felt like enjoying some kushi katsu and beer, so I decided to go in. I ordered various kushi katsu and started with a beer. It was delicious as always. I enjoyed eating the crispy kushi katsu. I also had a highball and some wine. Feeling a bit tipsy, I left. I'll have to visit another Tanaka restaurant next time.

Located at the corner one street down from Kiyamachi Sanjo, this kushikatsu restaurant was visited by three people looking to enjoy some kushikatsu. Upon entering, we were asked to disinfect our hands with alcohol and had our temperature checked by the staff before being led to the second floor. The first floor had tatami seating while the second floor had table seating. The space was smaller than expected and the only available seats were the ones we were shown to. Other than us, all the other customers were young people. As soon as we sat down, the staff came to take our drink order, even though we hadn't even looked at the menu yet. It seemed that we had to order our first drink from the staff, and subsequent drinks and food were to be ordered through a touch panel. As it was our first time at the restaurant, we were unsure of how to proceed and were told to simply point at what we wanted to order. When ordering alcohol, they checked to make sure we were not underage. When the alcohol arrived, there was no explanation and the cabbage served with it was not drained at all, but rather soaked in water. We ordered a few different types of kushikatsu. On the table, there was kushikatsu sauce, mildly spicy sauce (not very spicy), an empty soy sauce container, and flavored salt. When we handed over the empty soy sauce container, it was taken without a word, and then returned to us with the soy sauce inside after a while. The kushikatsu was okay, but the sauce and soy sauce were both bland. How can soy sauce smell like water? There was a promotion for all-you-can-drink for students and girls' night out on the wall, but it made me sad to think that there might be an increase in young people who only care about getting drunk without appreciating the taste of alcohol.

As part of the Kyoto lucky tour, I made a reservation with a friend to eat kushikatsu. We arrived a bit early and found that the restaurant was not open yet. The manager noticed us waiting and kindly asked us to wait a little longer. The atmosphere was nice, unlike my worst experience at Tanaka in Sannomiya. We were able to enjoy our meal in a sunken kotatsu seating while overlooking the river. The kushikatsu had a consistent delicious taste. Ordering through the touch panel was convenient and we didn't need to call a waiter. We also enjoyed highballs in the afternoon. My friend also liked the place. They provided us with a knee blanket and we had a pleasant time. Thank you for the meal.

November 28, 2019. I came on a Thursday night. The kushikatsu was delicious and I was very satisfied. The crispy kushikatsu was fantastic. The saiboshi was incredibly delicious and outstanding. I had a lot of fun playing Chinchirorin multiple times. I think I had about 8 drinks. I got really drunk. I felt great. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go again. I will give thanks to all the ingredients in this world. Calling all delicious food♪ The more you eat, the more power you get♪

I visited the restaurant right after it opened! The interior was brightly lit and there were monitors playing variety shows behind our table. Next to us, there were some guys in suits enjoying beer and kushikatsu, seemingly having a good time after work. The atmosphere in a casual kushikatsu restaurant like this is really nice. I cheekily used a coupon to get a free drink. Kushikatsu and Ramune go well together, fried food with carbonation is amazing. Orders were placed using a touch panel, and the staff were very polite and helpful. They even encouraged me to use the coupon. However, even though it didn't seem too busy, it took over 30 minutes for the kushikatsu to be served after ordering, which was a bit disappointing. The taste was decent for the price. The atmosphere and the staff's service were great, so I would rate it a 3! Thank you for the meal!

I went to Kushikatsu Tanaka in Kiyamachi. The seating was mainly table seats, which made it a bit difficult for solo diners. I was interested in the chiritori hot pot, but it was only available for 2 people or more, so I ended up ordering mostly kushikatsu skewers. The prices varied for each skewer, and the vegetable skewer for 100 yen was quite large. I ordered a skewer set, thinking it would be a good deal, but it seemed to be just a combination of individual prices. The cabbage, which is usually a complimentary side at kushikatsu restaurants, was served here as an appetizer for 250 yen, which affected the overall cost-effectiveness. The sauce was a bit thin, and the rule of not dipping the skewers twice was enforced, although the small dipping bowls made it difficult to dip the entire skewer at once. It was surprising that they didn't accept credit cards, considering it's a chain restaurant. The food itself was not bad, but there were some questionable aspects to the experience.

As the title suggests, many people may not visit Osaka for kushikatsu when they come to Kyoto. I went to a restaurant along the Takase River, and it was amazing to enjoy cherry blossoms while relaxing. ☺️✨

I visited the second restaurant. Each dish was cheap and delicious. They offer a service where drinks are about half price with a ticket purchase, which I thought was a great deal if you plan to go multiple times. The meat dish at the end was light and the perfect way to finish off a meal after drinking.

I felt like eating pork cutlet skewers so I went and ordered using the touch panel. The breading was crispy, the meat was big, and the sauce was light, making it easy to eat as many skewers as I wanted. There were many different types to choose from, so I enjoyed trying a variety of them.

The kushikatsu is light and easy to eat, with great value for money! There is a wide variety of other menu items so you won't get bored waiting for your kushikatsu. If the dessert menu was a bit more extensive, it would be perfect. They also have good COVID-19 measures in place, so you can feel safe. I will definitely visit again.

The food and drinks were delicious! However, I was concerned about the hygiene as the waiter's shoe box was right next to our table.

This is a kushikatsu restaurant located a short walk from Sanjo-Kiyamachi. We used their party plan for a year-end party. It was very reasonable at 2980 yen per person, including all-you-can-eat takoyaki and all-you-can-drink. I enjoyed eating lots of takoyaki.
