I visited the restaurant after 8:00 PM and parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot. The restaurant was located on the second floor, and when I opened the door, I was greeted by a bar-like atmosphere with all foreign tourists as customers. I sat at the counter seat and looked at the menu. In addition to various ramen options, I decided to order the "KYOTO BEANing VEGAN RAMEN" for 1,400 yen. The bowl came with a creamy soy milk-based soup with kale, green onions, carrots, shredded red chili pepper, and corn. It was topped with sesame seeds, buckwheat seeds, and yukari seasoning. The soup had a subtle sweetness, a spicy kick, fragrant sesame, and the aroma of purple shiso from the yukari seasoning. The curly noodles had a chewy texture and a good bounce, allowing them to soak up the flavorful soup well. The buckwheat seeds added a crispy and fragrant touch, while the green onions, kale, and carrots mixed well with the noodles. Despite the price and the touristy atmosphere, the vegan ramen was delicious and authentic.
