10-second summary! "Chengdu Shuzo Dan Dan Noodles Tsujita" ▶︎ A specialty shop for Dan Dan noodles from "Tsujita", famous for its dipping noodles!! ▶︎ Offers the rich and flavorful "Shuzo" and the spicy and sharp "Chengdu". ▶︎ A perfectly balanced bowl with meticulously calculated flavors!ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーVisited this restaurant the other day for a late-night meal after drinks! This is a specialty shop for Dan Dan noodles from "Tsujita", known for its dipping noodles. The exterior, predominantly black, looks very stylish, and the various spices neatly displayed in a glass case add to the charm! You can easily see inside from outside, making it inviting, and the interior is impeccably clean and has a sense of cleanliness, which is wonderful ~ Purchased a food ticket and sat at the counter at the back.ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーThe menu we ordered is here♀️ ▶︎ "Shuzo with Soup" 980 yen * Ordered medium spicy, firm noodlesーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーUpon being served, I couldn't help but exclaim at its beauty! The Dan Dan noodles served in a beautifully elegant bowl with a contrast of blue and white are stunning. The red-toned soup is gently garnished with green onions, making it visually appealing! The soup has a slightly thick consistency, and the first impression is the soy sauce and spiciness hitting you first! As you continue eating, the sesame paste blends in, adding a sweet and rich flavor that follows afterward. The spiciness and numbing sensation, along with various spices, create a unique umami and taste... Everything is meticulously calculated in this bowl! Surely, even the time-delayed attack of sesame sweetness and richness was carefully planned. The noodles have a firm texture with a wheat aroma, and they go perfectly well with the punchy soup! The sweet and spicy minced meat, crunchy bean sprouts, flavorful cashew nuts, and finely chopped pickled mustard greens all play their part beautifully. In the end, this was really delicious... A perfectly calculated, outstanding bowl that knocked me out! The "medium spicy" according to the restaurant's standard was a bit spicier than I expected. But I'd like to try the "extra spicy" next time. This feeling is something you won't find in Yokohama. I wish there was a branch in Yokohama too (I always say there should be delicious Dan Dan noodles). This is a taste that will make you want to eat it again! I definitely want to go back to eat it again❗️ Thank you for the meal.

Authentic Dan Dan noodles, extra spicy, for ¥980. Rice for ¥150. I asked for the extra spicy without the numbing sensation. I was happy to find out they are open on Sundays. The spiciness was even stronger than it looked. The thin straight noodles seemed easy to slurp, but if you're not careful, the intense spiciness will make you choke. The aroma of sesame and nuts was strong, adding a mellow touch to the dish besides just being spicy. They offer an option for extra rice, but I wanted to have a hearty meal so I ordered rice. The sweetness of the white rice paired well with the extra spicy soup and slightly sweet minced meat. It was a shame that the meat wasn't shredded, but the portion was generous and I left feeling full. Make sure to have plenty of paper napkins on hand.

The customer arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes after opening and ordered a set meal of Hiyashi Tan Tan Men without soup and Mapo Don for 1330 yen. The medium-spicy level was just right. The dish had a rich and creamy sesame sauce with a flavorful meat miso base, giving a delicious taste with a hint of sweetness from the nuts. The noodles were thick and hot, different from the usual Hiroshima-style noodles, and had a strong spiciness rather than numbing Sichuan peppercorns. The table's Sansho pepper could be used to adjust the spiciness. The Mapo Don was also delicious, combining Japanese umami with Sichuan-style spiciness. Overall, the meal was satisfying.

While strolling through Jimbocho, I found a restaurant that serves tantanmen. After seeing the sign, I suddenly had a strong craving for tantanmen. It seems that Tsujita is operating as a tantanmen shop. I wondered if the meaning of "Seito Masamune Tantanmen" is orthodox or Sichuan style. I decided to order the tantanmen with soup, which I am familiar with. The first bite left an impression of a sesame-flavored soup. The red soup with minced meat, nuts, and the rich flavor of sesame lived up to the sign. I chose medium spiciness, but it was quite mild, so I could have gone for extra spicy. It was a miscalculation that the noodles were thin, but it depends on personal preference. I preferred the thick noodles that provide an enjoyable texture. Overall, I think it's a highly accomplished tantanmen.

The tantanmen here is at a perfected level. I have tried tantanmen in many places in Katsuura, but this one is amazing. First, the quality of spiciness is impressive, not crude, but a refined spiciness like in Chinese cuisine. The soup has a good richness to it as well. The choice of noodles is also appropriate for the soup. You can adjust the level of spiciness, so it's not overly strong. The restaurant is clean and everything is wonderful. I also recommend trying the mapo rice, which is just as delicious as the tantanmen.

It's been a while since my last visit. This place has a high percentage of female customers, but today, 80% of the customers were women. While watching the ladies eat elegantly, I devoured my meal! Tonight's order was the authentic tantanmen noodles and small mapo tofu rice bowl set. Oh, it's still delicious as always! Thank you for the meal. I'll visit again.

Chengdu-style Dan Dan noodles #Tsujita Chengdu-style Dan Dan noodles #Chengdu-style Dan Dan noodles #Extra Spicy #Set with Spicy Mapo Tofu Rice #Sichuan Pepper Lover #Numbing Sensation #Numbing Sensation Lover #Can't Stop Sweating #The Miso Spoon is Not a Big Deal
I thought it wouldn't be a big deal and ordered it extra spicy. Well, it's quite spicy (sweating). Personally, I find it deliciously spicy. The slightly viscous soup combines spiciness, sesame sweetness, and richness, making it tasty. The ingredients include seasoned minced meat, crunchy bean sprouts, green onions, cashew nuts, and preserved vegetables. The texture of the cashew nuts is a nice accent, and the preserved vegetables are doing a great job. The medium-thin noodles have a firm texture with low water content. The small Mapo Tofu rice is surprisingly large and has a satisfying numbing sensation that I like. I'm happy to see the Sichuan pepper in the pepper mill on the table 😊 Overall, I had a very satisfying lunch! Thank you for the meal.

Authentic Dan Dan noodles for 980 yen. Described as having a "rich aroma of sesame with umami and depth." On the other hand, the Chengdu Dan Dan noodles are said to have a "straightforward spiciness and sharpness." Normally, I would choose the Chengdu style, but I decided to go with the authentic one this time. You can choose the level of spiciness from mild, medium, to large, and I chose large without hesitation. By the way, I had my wisdom tooth extracted yesterday, and the painkillers and ice pack seem to be working... I could only eat ice cream last night, but today my appetite is back in full force. I made sure to get proper nutrition as advised on the internet! It was also mentioned to avoid spicy food, but oh well! The soup was... spicier than I expected! I'm starting to sweat. The noodles were thin and smooth. The meat miso and nuts were plentiful. With the sesame seeds, I was worried they might get stuck in my wound... Overall, it was a traditional, top-notch Dan Dan noodles. I don't remember which one I had last time, but next time I'll try the Chengdu style. It was almost empty around 2 pm on a weekday, but the two people who came in right after me sat next to me and started complaining about their workplace. Have a good day, everyone. Thank you for the meal. After eating, I took another painkiller, just in case.

Second visit. We ordered Chengdu-style noodles without soup, noodles with soup, two bowls of rice, mapo tofu rice bowl, gyoza, and beer for two people, totaling around 4,000 yen. We might have eaten too much. There were many authentic Chinese customers around us. The staff recommended the authentic style, but I personally prefer the Chengdu style. I was curious about the mapo tofu rice bowl based on other reviews, and it was worth coming for. It only comes in a small size, so I hope they add a regular size option to the menu. We ordered gyoza as a beer snack, but it took 10 minutes and came after the tantanmen. They cost 220 yen for 3 pieces and tasted good, but I don't feel the need to have them again. I will definitely visit again!

The shop is clean and the counter is also beautiful, so it's understandable that it's popular with women! I'm not good with spicy food, so I chose the recommended medium spicy, but it was quite spicy, so much so that towards the end I couldn't really taste the flavor anymore. I was torn between soupless and with soup, and when I asked the staff about the difference, they said, "The taste is the same whether there is soup or not." So I chose soupless (my friend chose with soup), but... the thickness of the noodles is different, right!? I like thin noodles, so I wish I had chosen with soup! I want to revisit and order the soup with a little spice!

First visit. Arrived at the restaurant on a weekday evening after 7:00 PM, no wait and smooth seating. Received food tickets and within 5 minutes the dishes arrived. Ordered the authentic style tantanmen (medium spicy) and small mapo tofu rice set. The tantanmen had a strong sesame flavor and was incredibly delicious. Not too spicy due to being medium, making it easy to eat. The minced meat added a nice touch. And the mapo tofu rice was absolutely delicious! Made me want to eat more. It had that numbing sensation of Sichuan mapo tofu, but paired perfectly with the rice. Thank you for the meal. Will visit again soon.

Authentic tantanmen without green onions, topped with a warm boiled egg. The soup, rich with plenty of sesame seeds, is so delicious that I feel like I'm in heaven. It was really tasty! I'm not a fan of numbing or spicy flavors, so I chose the mild option, and it was the right choice. It was a deliciously satisfying spicy dish. Thank you for the meal.

"Tsuji Den", known for its dipping noodles, is a brand of tantan noodles. It is ranked in the top 5000 on Tabelog. I have been to various Tsuji Den restaurants, and I must say that the exterior and interior are stylish and sophisticated, with a sense of cleanliness. There are 11 counter seats. I purchased the authentic tantan noodles with a warm boiled egg for 1150 yen from the ticket machine and then took a seat. The noodles are a type with low water content and a firm texture. The soup, which is clouded with sesame paste, has bright red chili oil floating on top, and it is topped with bean sprouts, nuts, minced meat, chopped green onions, and meat miso. The soup has a moderate saltiness from soy sauce, a smooth richness from sesame, and a strong umami flavor, making it a tantan noodles that can be enjoyed by everyone. It has a punch of Sichuan pepper and is not too sweet, perfect for those seeking a tantan noodles that is not overly sweet. It tasted delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located in Ogawamachi, Tokyo. At 5:05 PM on Saturday, there are hardly any customers. Today was hot and I was craving tantanmen. I ordered the authentic tantanmen for 980 yen with medium spiciness. The surface is covered with spicy chili oil. Oops, I forgot that my throat was a bit sensitive today. I managed to bear the slight burning sensation. When you mix it, a creamy and gentle sesame flavor emerges. The slightly firm ground meat and nuts add a nice accent, creating a perfect balance of flavors. The straight thin noodles pair well with the dish. The finely chopped green onions provide a pleasant texture. Tsujita also offers tsukemen and miso ramen, but as always, the taste was consistently delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It had been a while since I last visited this restaurant (Nagoya Tsujita, known for its Chengdu-style tantanmen), but it came up in conversation during a recent meal, so I decided to walk over and try it. Luckily, I arrived just before the lunch rush and didn't have to wait in line. I ordered the Tantanmen with soup and a small portion of mapo tofu rice set for 1,300 yen. The restaurant boasts a rich sesame aroma and depth of flavor in their "Tsujita-style" tantanmen, while their "Chengdu-style" tantanmen is known for its straightforward spiciness and kick. I opted for medium spiciness (according to their scale), but found both the tantanmen and mapo tofu rice to be less spicy than expected. I would have preferred a bit more heat, so next time I'll try the Chengdu-style tantanmen without soup, with extra spiciness, and maybe add an extra serving of rice.

It's hot but for some reason I crave spicy tantan noodles. It's my first time trying it so I went for medium spiciness and numbness. I also got a set with soupless tantan noodles and mapo tofu. The mapo tofu is delicious but quite salty and rich in flavor. It would go well with alcohol. The tantan noodles are delicious! Next time, I want to challenge myself with the spicy version.

Today I visited this restaurant and tried the dry-style Chengdu-style Mapo Rice for 1,300 yen. I chose medium spiciness. I had imagined it would be cold, but it was served warm. It makes sense since they also serve it in the winter. The spiciness had a hint of sourness, or maybe that was just me. Even at medium spiciness, it was quite hot. The Mapo Rice was delicious as always, but I regret not ordering it with soup on the side.

Kanda's ramen shop. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Ogawamachi Station or Awajicho Station. It is a shop specializing in tantanmen, a type of ramen, that has become quite famous, originally from the well-known tsukemen restaurant "Tsujita". When I visited on Sunday around 6:30 pm, there were about 5-6 customers already there. The shop's main products are two types of tantanmen: with soup and without soup, with a total of 4 variations. The flavors offered are traditional and Chengdu style. Today, I had the following:
- Traditional Tantanmen (980 yen)
The traditional style has a prominent sesame aroma and is less spicy compared to the Chengdu style, tailored to Japanese taste preferences. The richness of the sesame flavor stands out, with a decent level of spiciness and numbing sensation, giving a true tantanmen experience. Tantanmen originated in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, so the Chengdu style has a more authentic spicy and numbing taste. It's good to order according to your preference. I finished every last drop of the soup. In this area, there are many excellent tantanmen shops like La Shomon and Unrinbo. I would love to visit this shop again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I had the authentic style soup-less tantanmen with medium spiciness. It had a good level of heat, but the creaminess of the sesame made it mild and easy to eat. Later, I tried a bite of my friend's Chengdu-style soup-less tantanmen with extra spiciness and regretted it because it was very spicy. It's not a good idea to get carried away and eat something spicy if you're not used to it.

It had been a while since our last visit. It was hot, so most of the customers ordered the soup-less tantanmen, but we ordered our usual tantanmen with soup, medium spicy. I added a soft-boiled egg topping, while my husband ordered the small mapo rice. We didn't plan on drinking during lunchtime, but we were disappointed to find out that they had switched from bottled beer to canned beer. The taste was as delicious as always, and it's a flavor that becomes addictive!

This is a tan-tan noodle restaurant from the Tsujita Group. I purchased the Chengdu-style mabo rice set with soup at the ticket machine. I was guided to a counter seat by the staff and waited about 5 minutes for the tan-tan noodles to be served, followed by the mabo rice about 2 minutes later. The tan-tan noodles looked spicy, but I ordered them medium spicy, so it was just the right level of heat. I've tried various tan-tan noodles before, but the taste here was not exceptional, just an average flavor that would appeal to most people. I don't think I would come back for these tan-tan noodles. The mabo rice, on the other hand, was delicious with its spiciness and numbing sensation.
