Today, I was working in Shijo Karasuma again. Even though it's May, it's incredibly hot. For lunch, I went to a hidden gem of a restaurant called Budoshudou, which was recommended by a colleague. It's located in a narrow alley that resembles an eel bed, typical of Kyoto. The restaurant has only one staff member, and as the name suggests, it is filled with wine bottles. A couple at the table behind me were enjoying a bottle of wine on a weekday afternoon, which made me quite envious. I ordered the hamburger lunch set for 1,100 yen. Since there is only one staff member, it took a bit of time for the food to be served. After about a 10-minute wait, the meal arrived. The set included two small hamburgers on a hot plate, rice, three cold dishes, and seaweed miso soup. The hamburgers were delicious and the cold dishes were flavorful. Personally, I wished there was a bit more sauce, but that might just be me being picky. The seaweed miso soup was also tasty with plenty of ingredients. The master of the restaurant is quite skilled. The evening menu also looked appetizing, so I am sure dinner would be great too. I would like to come back with my partner next time for dinner. Thank you for the meal. #Budoshudou #HamburgerLunch #CozyLunchSpot #Gourmet #GourmetInstagram #HamburgerLovers #AffordableHamburgerDishes #HamburgerInstagram #HamburgerEnthusiasts #InstagrammableHamburgerDishes #DeliciousWine #PhotoWorthyHamburgers #HamburgerSetLovers #KyotoCity #ShijoKarasumaGourmet #ShijoStation #Izakaya #KyotoPrefectureGourmet #DeliciousColdDishes #Japan #Kyoto #Gourmet #JapaneseFood #WineIzakaya #FillingLunch

It might be good for drinking alcohol, as most of the customers are women. There were no desserts, and the only sweet option was chocolate. However, the wine that could be slowly enjoyed in just the right amount was very good. I think it's perfect for a second stop for wine lovers.

Visited around 10 pm. A shop located deep in a alley off Higashidoriin. Despite the late hour and not facing the street, the shop was almost full. The menu focuses on Japanese cuisine and wine, with options like beer (Setouchi Weizen), white and red wine, and white Kyoto-style oden. The assorted chicken tempura and steamed turnip with shirako were truly delicious. Every dish from the appetizers was delicious. Especially the chicken tempura and steamed turnip were exceptional! I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal ♫

I ordered the hamburger steak set. It came with three side dishes and miso soup with seaweed, so I am very satisfied! The 200g hamburger steak is filling and delicious. The wine was also tasty. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal!

Today, the chef was working alone. If you want to eat hamburger, the half-and-half is recommended and delicious, but I was surprised by how delicious the beef tongue stew, which was casually mentioned on the menu, was. The side dishes were all delicious. And the set drinks were cheap. I have allergies, and I happened to have a lot of runny nose and sneezing after entering the store, but I wouldn't say the interior was extremely clean, but I think they clean it normally. The overall level of the food was high and delicious, it was a good restaurant.

A few minutes' walk from Karasuma Station and Shijo Station. Today, I had lunch here. The restaurant is located down a narrow, hard-to-find street, making it a hidden gem. The main menu focuses on Western dishes, with hamburgers as the main attraction. I ordered the Classic Hamburger (200g) from Ishikuratei, with rice on the side. Let's dig in! The hamburgers are served on a sizzling hot plate, with two 100g patties. They are cooked in a pan and then finished in the oven, giving them a nice touch. The texture is quite meaty, satisfying the hamburger cravings. The sauce paired well with the rice. Overall, it was a delicious meal! This lunch set includes the hamburger, rice, miso soup, and three side dishes for only 1,000 yen. Considering its location near Karasuma, it offers great value for money.

Walking down Higashinotoin Street, there was a small wooden sign with a light bulb at my feet. Peeking into the alley, I could see a faint light in the darkness. I hesitated whether to trust that light or enter the alley. As I proceeded deeper into the alley, I found the restaurant near the end. The entrance was lined with rows of wine bottles on two walls. Inside, the lighting was calming, with red walls and many hanging wine glasses. There was a traditional Kyoto-style courtyard in the back. Italian music was playing, with upbeat bossa nova and mellow jazz tunes. There was a young chef in a kimono and a sommelier in Western attire, both men. I ordered a white wine flight for 680 yen, which was quite reasonable. The flight included a crisp wine from northern Italy, a slightly bitter wine from central Italy, and a sweet wine from Sicily. The sommelier explained each wine carefully. Next, I ordered the autumn seasonal appetizer platter. I love appetizer platters in kaiseki cuisine. It's a joy to be able to order just the platter and enjoy the beautiful world within that limited space. This platter was no exception, beautifully presented. Inside the prosciutto was pickled vegetables, and the fig sauce had a sesame miso flavor. Even though there were Western elements, the traditional Kyoto-style grilled fish was the most delicious. When I complimented the chef on the blend of Japanese flavors, he replied, "I'm a traditional Japanese chef, so it's natural." It's clear that dishes prepared by passionate chefs like him are the most delicious. I realized my mistake in my choice of words and apologized. The seating charge was around 500 yen. I would recommend this place to my wine-loving boss. It's also a great spot for a date or a girls' night out.

The restaurant I was interested in on SNS. The appetizer of Nanbanzuke already makes me want to drink alcohol (^^♪ It's fun to compare wines and enjoy the grilled dishes with three different wines of the day! I wonder which grilled dish goes well with which one while eating and drinking, and the grilled dishes are delicious in the first place (*^▽^*) Nishikyo-yaki is already... it makes me want to drink beer without saying grape wine (lol) It's nice to come with a group, but it might be nice to enjoy it slowly alone too ☆彡 It was a wonderful restaurant! Let's go again ♬ Thank you for the meal!

Although it is an Italian wine shop, they also serve authentic Japanese cuisine. The Italian menu is also delicious. The recommended dish of the day, made with carefully selected ingredients, is also delicious!

Tried three different wines at a wine bar located in a very atmospheric alley we passed through. We used it for our second party and it was nice, very Kyoto-like. (^ . ^)

The shop is not very large, but with a name like "Wine Hall," the atmosphere is great! There is a wide variety of wines and the food is delicious. I definitely want to visit this place again!
