After a beer garden, I felt like the food was lacking, so I visited Kiru Shirazu, a Belgian beer and European cuisine restaurant recommended by a colleague. The entrance had a stylish feel to it. However, climbing the steep stairs to the 3rd floor was tough because I was quite drunk (laughs). The interior of the restaurant had a foreign atmosphere, like an authentic place. My colleague ordered a la carte for us, and I had a few beers as well. The food was all high quality and very delicious. The beer was also to my liking, with a strong bitterness and deep flavor. I've been here at least 10 times already, it's really convenient. When I want to drink good beer with someone, I always order the 6000 yen all-you-can-drink course here. The course includes unlimited Japanese craft beer (4 types) and Belgian beer (2 types), as well as 100 types of drinks including wine, cocktails, and highballs. If you've been following me for a while, you might know that I love Hoegaarden White, which is always available in this course. I was too drunk to take a photo of the first one. I'll take one next time I come. Tuesday 18:10, I made a reservation at Kizami Shirazu, a Belgian beer and European cuisine restaurant. Although the reservation was for 18:30, they accommodated us earlier. I have a review of this place on YouTube, you can search for it under "mog and mog." We toasted with Hoegaarden White and Lychee Orange. We ordered the 3,500 yen ladies' course, which was very satisfying and generous. One thing that bothered me was that the menu mentioned a choice between pasta and pizza, but we were not asked and ended up with pasta. Also, the dessert was not really a "assortment" as stated. However, with two drinks included, it was just right and we enjoyed the meal without any complaints. Good food always makes a difference.

Located between Kawaramachi and Karasuma, this bar has a great atmosphere. It is a three-story building, so you can enjoy a nice view. Known for its selection of Belgian beers, the variety is overwhelming! From the famous Hoegaarden White to Newton and many others, you can enjoy a wide range of beers. The food is also amazing, especially the mussels which you can finish off with pasta. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they don't mind accommodating special requests. It was really appreciated.

I visited at the end of the year, following last year. They have a wide variety of Belgian beers. Additionally, the food that goes well with beer is just amazing in terms of cost performance. I tend to order too much food because of the surprising cost performance. It's irresistible to wash down slightly salty foods with a cold Hoegaarden. Beer is so casual and there are no difficult aspects, which is great. The staff is friendly too, I will definitely come back when I return to Kyoto!

Monday 18:15 I went back to the Belgian beer and European cuisine restaurant, Kiru Shirazu, because I had a good impression last time. It's been quite a while. Stella Artois M for about 748 yen. Potato fries for 650 yen. Deli assortment of 3 for 1,180 yen. Plus, Steamed Moules Staub for 1,500 yen reduced to 15 yen with a coupon on Tabelog, where the popular mussels were on sale. The coupon was valid for ordering one drink and two dishes per person. The portion sizes here are quite generous, so be careful when ordering. At 18:27, the Stella Artois arrived. It's a 330ml beer, similar to a regular canned beer. It's described as easy to drink like a lager. The fact that they have dedicated glasses for it shows its popularity, and the beer in the glass with gold trim is a golden color that washes away fatigue. At 18:32, the potato fries arrived. They are meant to be enjoyed with mayo and whole grain mustard dip. Beer and potatoes are a classic combination, and the crispy and delicious fries paired well with the beer. At 18:35, the deli assortment of 3 arrived. (I mean, I thought the same thing last time, but their service is amazing.) It definitely looks like a platter of 5 items, not 3. Quiche, Escabeche, pumpkin and bean stew, prosciutto, and salad. It's fantastic. As I knew from my previous visit, two dishes here are quite filling (which I love). Everything is delicious. I ordered another beer at this point. Hitachino Nest Beer Yuzu Lager for 968 yen. I've had Hitachino Nest Beer before at Tokyo Station, but this is my first time trying this Yuzu Lager. I have a weakness for yuzu-flavored drinks. At 18:54, they brought a complimentary serving of mussels. There are over 15 of them... and they are delicious! How can they offer this for just 15 yen? The unique saltiness of the mussels is irresistible, and it makes you crave some baguette. I continued to enjoy my beer. By the end, my stomach and heart were both satisfied, and I left with a smile. I just kept thinking how I want to come back with friends for a drink. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The shop is located on the third floor of a building and is a bit hard to find, but when you open the door, you will find a bright and cozy space. There are many large glasses hanging above and English books lined up on the counter, creating an atmosphere where you can enjoy a drink alone. Now, the order for the day! Fish & Chips, Smoked Duck Breast Pâté, Spanish Ham and Soft-boiled Egg Pizza, Seabass Carpaccio, and various drinks. They have a wide selection of beers from traditional draft beer to unique bottled and canned beers. One memorable beer was St-Feuillien Brune, a ruby brown beer with a slightly sweet and deep flavor. It has an alcohol content of 11% and a rich taste. Another recommendation was Board Bearley Panda Wine, a Swedish beer with a bear face on a white background. It has a punchy flavor with a full-bodied barley wine taste. The combination of dry fruits, bananas, cocoa nibs, and vanilla creates a unique and enjoyable drinking experience. The staff also enjoyed it with me, as they had never tried it before. Overall, the Belgian beers and European dishes were all delicious and complemented each other well. Wednesday 18:30, I visited the restaurant "Kiru Shirazu" in Belgium for beer and European cuisine, which is a Go To Eat participating store. I made a reservation and was seated at the counter at the back. There were about four groups of customers, and the spacing between tables was good as it was still early. There was a waitress and I believe one man in the kitchen. I ordered a Hoegaarden White (400ml) for 750 yen, today's salad for 900 yen, and a deli platter with three types of meat for 1,000 yen. The beer arrived promptly at 18:35. The Hoegaarden White is a flavorful beer, fruity and easy to drink. Since I came mainly for the food today, I tried not to drink too much. It took quite a while for the food to arrive after the beer. At 19:00, the deli platter arrived with Ratatouille, Escabeche, Jamon Serrano, and a spinach and bacon quiche. Wait, isn't that four types? Nevertheless, they all looked delicious and had a satisfying amount, making me happy. The balance of vegetables, fish, and meat was excellent, and the combinations were not boring. The Jamon Serrano was particularly delicious. Shortly after, the salad arrived, and it was huge. I heard it was large, but it was massive. The plate was about 23cm, and it was piled high. It looked like it could serve two people. The salad consisted of tomatoes, leaf lettuce, arugula, prosciutto, and cheese. The saltiness of the cheese and prosciutto stimulated my appetite. The ingredients seemed to be of high quality, and the portion was very satisfying. The restaurant experience cannot be fully explained by star ratings alone. This place was a big hit. I was bid farewell politely on my way out. The food was excellent, and the service was also very good. I made a reservation for the "casual course" and visited the restaurant with my colleagues and former colleagues from work. The all-you-can-drink menu was extensive, with not only Hoegaarden beer but also Lager beer from the Netherlands. Hoegaarden had a smooth and easy-to-drink taste, so I kept getting refills without hesitation. I was worried if it was okay to drink so much with the all-you-can-drink option. The food was delicious, with flavors that paired well with the drinks (I forgot to take photos because I kept drinking). The staff members were energetic and provided good service. It was a great restaurant that made me want to visit again.

Hoegaarden White is delicious. The appetizer combo of three dishes for 600 yen feels like a good deal. Altbier is also good.

The seating area facing Yanaginobamba-dori is glass-walled, offering a great view of the street below. This place is known for its Belgian beers, offering a variety of options including popular brands like Hoegaarden at reasonable prices. The food menu features mainly Belgian mussels, along with a selection of Italian and Spanish-style appetizers. The mussels are delicious, especially when prepared simply with white wine. While not quite as authentic as those in Belgium, they are still quite tasty and addictive. The mussels are served in a bucket-shaped container, plump and flavorful. The fries served with the mussels have a unique twist, maintaining the shape of the potatoes and served with tomato sauce and whole grain mustard. The flavors complement the mussels and beer perfectly. There is a similar restaurant in Nishijin, but this one excels in terms of taste and value. Overall, this is a wonderful place to enjoy a taste of Belgium in Kyoto. They also offer a variety of delicious dishes like aioli and a wide selection of wines, making it a great spot for a post-work drink or solo dining experience.

I had been curious about it but never had the chance to visit. Today, I finished work early and finally made it to the third floor of the building. The place wasn't open yet, so I was the only customer. I was seated at the L-shaped counter with a great view overlooking Hexagon Street. The interior was spacious, with a spectacular display of glasses hanging above the counter. The Belgian beer menu was very extensive, and until 8 p.m., they had a happy hour offering about four types of draft beers for 500 yen each! I tried the Hoegaarden and the slightly sweet Belle-Vue Kriek. Both were delicious. The Belle-Vue Kriek, in particular, had a beautiful ruby color and was made with black cherries, giving it a cocktail-like taste. I also ordered a platter of three tapas: shrimp in oil, pickled white fish, and one more that I can't remember... Each tapa was only 500 yen, so it was easy to try a variety of dishes. The menu had a wide selection. I had already eaten a bit before coming here, so I just had these dishes, but I heard that their food is also something to brag about. I would like to come back next time and try their main dishes.
