I visited McDonald's for a quick bite because I was feeling hungry. I tried the Spicy Chicken Burger (200 yen) which recently had a price increase. It had a spicy orange sauce that was really tasty. The price was not much different from a regular hamburger. I also want to try the Spicy Beef Burger (220 yen) next time since they have other affordable options. I ordered a Minute Maid Orange Juice Small (170 yen) without ice. Even without ice, it was full but not very cold.

These past few days have been really hot, isn't it? Kyoto's summer is one of the hottest in the country. The temperature is high, but the humidity is also extremely high, so just walking outside makes you feel exhausted, and when you enter a building, the temperature difference can be quite harsh. Feeling a bit fatigued or maybe even a mild heatstroke, I decided to come to this McDonald's. Even when tired, my appetite is always there, so I ordered a Double Cheeseburger and a vanilla-flavored McShake on this day. When was the last time I had a shake!? Probably about 5 years ago! It really hits the spot on a hot day. However, due to my age, I opted for a small size, and by the end, I was quite full. McDonald's has many attractive menu items these days, so it's hard to decide what to order. I'm currently trying to lose weight, so I skipped the fries, but lately, I've been craving to try a large size.

I also had a snack, so I got the Gracoro set (640 yen) with iced tea. It's already Gracoro season. It's an annual event that reminds me of the greatness of carbohydrates. As a tourist in Kyoto, I stopped by this shop on my last day to try the seasonal limited edition matcha flavored McShake. I had tried it before coming to Kyoto and found it to have a strange flavor, so I wanted to confirm. The shop was near Sanjo Keihan Station and was quite crowded with tourists stopping by on their way back. After waiting in line for a while, I received my McShake and found a seat on the second floor. I was curious to see how it would taste in Kyoto, but to my surprise, it had a citrusy flavor. I wondered if the previous strange flavor was due to the remnants of other shakes affecting the taste. Eventually, the artificial matcha flavor came through. Despite being a seasonal limited edition matcha flavor available nationwide, I thought it might be more interesting as a Kyoto exclusive. However, with the strange citrusy twist, it didn't seem like a good fit for Kyoto, known for its matcha sweets.

I visited Kyoto for sightseeing after a long time. This time, instead of using buses or sightseeing taxis, I rented an electric bicycle from a shop called "Kyono Rakuchari Higashiyama Sanjo Store" and explored Kyoto. After finishing sightseeing, I wanted to take a break, so I went to a nearby McDonald's, the "McDonald's Higashiyama Sanjo Store", to have a drink. I ordered an iced coffee and some fries. The price for all sizes (S, M, L) was the same, so I chose the large size. McDonald's always offers good value for the price.

I was out cycling and feeling cold, so I decided to stop by this McDonald's located on the northeast side of the Tozai Sanjo intersection. There's no bike parking nearby, so I parked close and went inside. The first floor had the counter and seating, while the second and third floors had additional seating. It was a cold day, so I ordered a hot coffee and a hamburger to warm up. I just wanted a quick break, so I appreciated the affordable prices. The hamburger was satisfying and tasty, perfect for a snack. This place is popular among tourists, but there are plenty of seats so you can relax and enjoy your meal.

On a holiday morning, I headed towards the gate of Heian Shrine as a volunteer for a certain event (unpaid service). I needed to have a hearty breakfast to prepare for the chaotic situation after the loud horns sounded. Unable to open the refrigerator to avoid waking my sleeping family, I used the McDonald's app's free and discount coupons to get a cheaper meal than at McDonald's in the morning. The menu consisted of freshly cooked items as I didn't choose items that sell well enough to be prepared in advance. The hash browns had a crispy texture as they were freshly fried and well-drained of oil. The Filet-O-Fish had a good balance of warm buns, freshly fried fish with good oil drainage, and a moderate amount of tartar sauce. The Chicken McNuggets were also freshly fried, with a crispy coating and juicy chicken meat. This experience showed that even with nationwide chain restaurants and standard items, the taste can vary greatly depending on the location, time, and cooking staff, making it worth leaving a review. As I headed to work today, I thought about the lack of understanding of the elderly who trample on the active generation burdened with high pension insurance premiums.
