This was my first time visiting, and there were various types of snacks available, such as seaweed-wrapped rice crackers, soy sauce rice crackers, and a variety of others. Since it's a candy store, they also had Kyoto candy, which was reasonably priced. The appearance matched the taste - simple and delicious. It was enjoyable to snack on while watching TV and drinking tea.

On the way from Izumiya to Shijo Kawaramachi, I found a shop with glass cases filled with lots of rice crackers lining the wall. It caught my eye and I thought, "Oh, I like this kind of shop!" so I decided to stop by. When I entered the shop, an old lady came out from the back. This time, I tried the seaweed-wrapped rice crackers and fried shrimp snacks. The seaweed-wrapped rice crackers had a soy sauce flavor, with seaweed wrapped around the rice cracker, a classic combination that tasted reliably good. As for the fried shrimp snacks, they were made by mixing dried shrimp with flour and then baking them with a salty taste. Unfortunately, I could smell a bit of oil from them. When I asked about the shop's name, I was told it was "Bando Ame" (Bando Candy). I had thought it was just a rice cracker shop, but indeed, half of the shop was filled with candies. It had a slightly nostalgic atmosphere. Overall, the ease of making a reservation and the likelihood of revisiting the shop were rated as 2 out of 5 stars. Thank you for the meal!

I've been curious about this shop for a while!! They sell handmade candies and individually wrapped senbei (rice crackers) (。・ω・。)ノ♡ The proprietress, who moved from Gion, is said to make them ☆ This time's purchase... ・Bando Ame (candies) 250 yen Contents and taste... ・Bando Ame... Various colored candies are includedヾ(o´∀`o)ノワァーィ♪ The sweetness is mild and flavors like matcha are full of matcha goodness!! Oh♪(ノ)’∀`(ヾ)―In simple terms, it's like the taste of traditional golden sugar(o^―^o)ニコ Overall impression... Simple candies(^^♪ Not overly sweet or too stimulating, just full of nostalgia!! It was a heartwarming experience with these gentle candies(´ー`*)ウンウン

A simple candy shop at the foot of Matsubara Bridge along the Takase River in Kyoto. It is said to sell Bando Ame, a candy with the scent of the Taisho and Showa eras. The shop is run by an elderly couple with stern faces. They mainly sell candy by weight, but also have some pre-packaged varieties. It's a bit disappointing that they don't provide explanations or list the types of candy available. However, the candy is delicious, so it's not a big deal. It's a typical Kyoto business, and makes for a good souvenir story from your Kyoto sightseeing trip.
