I went to Omori for work. I had about an hour to spare due to a misunderstanding of time, so I decided to finally try "Homemade Ramen Seimugi," which I had been wanting to check out since it opened four years ago! It was a Friday at 11:30 during a typhoon, so I was worried it would be crowded, but there was only a line of 4 people, phew! We were warmly welcomed and seated, and since there were two of us, we decided to do the usual "different types comparison"!
- Seisumi ¥950
- Special Toppings (flavored egg, 2 wontons, 1 seaweed) ¥350
- Seijoku ¥990
- Flavored egg ¥200
I have never felt as good about comparing different types of ramen as I did this time.
[Seisumi] It had a dashi flavor, like Iriko. I'm not particularly fond of Iriko itself, but the combination with soy sauce was good, and using tea leaves as a hidden flavor added originality.
[Seijoku] It's described as a mix of light and rich, "kossari." It was indeed rich but not too heavy, and had a rich flavor! It felt similar to a slightly refined Wakayama ramen in terms of taste.
It's hard to choose between these two!
Side note: Speaking of Omori, the seaweed was really delicious, so I asked the owner, who told me they source it from a seaweed shop two doors down, so I stopped by on the way home.
Another side note: I've been wanting to try "Homeramen Bakumyo" for 5 years and "Iida Shoten" for 4 years, but haven't had the chance yet. After paying for Omakase for 2 years and losing miserably, I finally canceled it the other day. Ah, I want to go, I want to eat there^ ^ I've been to Lalaport twice, but I still want to taste the original store's flavor! Sorry for the unnecessary comments♪
