On November 8th, I visited "Men no Bo Toride" in Jinbo. It's just one stop away from Shibuya, so I decided to save money on train fare and walk there. The restaurant opened in October 2001, so this year marks its 20th anniversary. The owner used to work at the popular tonkotsu ramen restaurant "Ippudo" and also served as the store manager at the "Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum." I ordered the "Noritama Ebi Wantan Men for 1320 yen." I asked for thin noodles with normal firmness. The "Noritama Ebi Wantan Men (thin noodles, normal firmness)" was served promptly. The milky tonkotsu broth, simmered for a long time, had a rich umami flavor with no fishy taste. It resembles "Ippudo" but has its own originality, making it uniquely delicious. The homemade thin straight noodles with low water content had a satisfying chewy texture, with options for thin (about 1mm) or thick noodles (about 2mm). The large shrimp wantan, perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg, and tender chashu were all excellent. The aroma and sweetness of Kyoto-grown Kujo green onions also stood out. I didn't get an extra serving of noodles, but I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and drink. Next time, I must try the popular "one-bite gyoza" and "onigiri." Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant after a long time and had the tax-inclusive 880 yen Nori and Tamago ramen, as well as the tax-inclusive 1050 yen handmade gyoza (10 pieces), totaling 2590 yen. The rich soup seemed to have become slightly clearer, which I enjoyed. I prefer thin noodles and the gyoza was also satisfying. I had a very delicious meal and felt truly happy.

I've been coming to this restaurant for about 10 years now. I always feel like eating here regularly. I ordered my usual seaweed and egg ramen. I visited around 12 o'clock on a weekday. There were 7 people waiting, but I was seated right away as a party of 5 and a party of 2. There were 3 staff members working during the lunch rush, and they seemed quite busy. They probably don't have enough staff. This place doesn't use a ticket system, so I placed my order verbally and it arrived quickly. I had my usual seaweed and egg ramen, extra firm. It was delicious as always. I wanted to order an extra serving of noodles, but the staff seemed too busy, so I ended up not getting it. It's understandable given the current situation with labor shortages. I'll probably want to eat here again, so next time I'll make sure to order the extra noodles. However, the prices have gone up. It's probably because the cost of ingredients has increased, but I couldn't help but think that 1050 yen for a tonkotsu ramen is quite expensive.

I visited on a regular night. There was no line, but I waited outside for a bit while they cleaned up. I ordered the seaweed and seasoned egg topping ramen for 1050 yen. I asked for the noodles to be firm. There wasn't anything particularly unique about it, but it was a delicious classic Hakata tonkotsu ramen. There was a notice saying that prices will be going up in August.

Taste: Excellent
Atmosphere: Great
I happened to pass by the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon while running errands nearby. Just before I arrived, there was heavy rain, so the restaurant had some empty seats, lucky me. I was seated at a cozy table in the back made of warm wood, which created a nice ambiance. I noticed a few foreign guests dining there, giving it an international vibe. I ordered the ramen with flavored egg and a side of rice. It only took 5 minutes for my order to arrive. The tonkotsu broth had a delightful aroma, and the thin noodles in the Hakata style ramen were just perfect. The soup was delicious, with a rich pork bone flavor that wasn't overpowering or greasy. The flavored egg was cooked just right, and the rice was shiny and tasty. I enjoyed every last drop of the soup and finished my meal completely satisfied. On a side note, there was a sign mentioning that they were struggling with a shortage of staff and had to bring in help from other restaurants to keep operating. It made me realize that even a great restaurant like this one can face challenges in finding enough staff. I can only say that I hope they keep up the good work!

The speed at which the food comes out is fast and appreciated. The tables and menus are clean, and the staff is very polite. There are plenty of condiments on the table to try out different flavors. The clientele is diverse, with families, male groups, and solo female diners all present.

I visited this place before but they only open on Wednesdays and Fridays now, so I was able to get my revenge! By far the best Hakata tonkotsu ramen I've had in Tokyo!! The flavor is rich but my stomach felt light even after finishing it! I wanted to try the mentaiko onigiri but they don't have it now apparently.

I went to a popular eel restaurant but it was fully booked, so I ended up looking for another place for dinner. I stumbled upon a crowded ramen shop nearby and decided to give it a try. I ordered their signature "Toride Ramen" with toppings of seaweed and egg, opting for firm noodles. The ramen came with a rich tonkotsu broth, topped with egg, seaweed, bean sprouts, crunchy green onions, and thick slices of chashu pork. The broth was salty and flavorful, perfect for a tonkotsu lover like me. The noodles were thin and firm, similar to Nagahama-style noodles. Overall, I was impressed by the delicious ramen and later found out that the owner had trained at Ippudo. It all made sense why the tonkotsu broth was so good. A great find in the midst of Tokyo's chaos.

I watched the video of President Makonari on Youtube and visited the restaurant. Before visiting, I was thinking, "Tonkotsu with bean sprouts...?" but it was a very easy-to-drink bowl of ramen. I was worried that the taste would be weak, but it had a solid and satisfying flavor. Is it common for bean sprouts to be included in Hakata-style ramen? It's a bit far from Shibuya, but I will definitely come back!

Today, I had a work lunch for the first time in a while and tried a Kyushu-style tonkotsu ramen with thin straight noodles. I ordered the ramen with seaweed and egg, along with a side of small rice. When I took a bite, I was surprised that the soup was light despite its appearance. It was very delicious.

【Men no Bo Toride】・Nori and Soft-boiled Egg ¥1,050・Toride Omusubi (Mentaiko Mayo) ¥330・Extra Noodles ¥150Located along the old Yamate Street in Shibuya, it has been over a decade since I last visited, back when I used to work in Shibuya. Nostalgic! After attending a live show at WOMB in Shibuya, which was also after a decade, I felt nostalgic and decided to come here. Despite being in business for over 20 years, the interior of the restaurant still looks clean and well-maintained without any signs of aging. The wooden counter has no peeling varnish, and the menu and posters are still in good condition! Amazing! The Toride Tonkotsu Ramen that I had after a long time was also surprisingly fresh! The homemade thin noodles were springy and paired well with the pork bone soup! I added extra noodles and changed the flavor with the ramen sauce, garlic, pickled ginger, and sesame. The Toride Omusubi had well-cooked rice and was delicious enough to make me want to come back just for it. I thought I would feel nostalgic after such a long time, but today's visit was surprisingly moving. Amazing! #Shibuya Jinboen Gourmet #Men no Bo Toride #Tonkotsu Ramen #Toride Omusubi with Mentaiko Mayo Sauce #Personal Gourmet Memo #Food Diary ===========

During the peak of Yon-sama's popularity, there was anticipation for him to visit this place when he came to Japan. Yon-sama's staff inquired about booking the place for a private visit, but the restaurant firmly declined, stating that they cannot offer special treatment. However, the desire to visit the restaurant persisted, and Yon-sama's staff eventually came with him as regular customers. The restaurant is known as a pilgrimage site for fans of Yon-sama and is loved by many celebrities. It has the image of being a longstanding favorite of Yon-sama. Located in an area near Shibuya that is not quite considered Shibuya, it is convenient for those traveling by car. On a Saturday afternoon, there was no wait, and the restaurant was full. My son ordered the "Fortress Ramen" with an extra serving, while I had the seaweed and egg ramen with extra green onions and an extra serving. The noodles were cooked just right, as they are essential for a good bowl of ramen. The noodles need to be boiled properly to bring out the flavor and avoid any stomach issues. We also ordered the rice ball with spicy cod roe and mayonnaise, which was also recommended. The food here is delicious, and I highly recommend the tonkotsu ramen in this area. Here are some brief thoughts on the photos.

This is a Hakata tonkotsu ramen shop located in Jinquan, and the onigiri there is also delicious. It might be my favorite Hakata tonkotsu ramen shop in Tokyo. The mentaiko onigiri is also delicious, and it's great that you can add toppings like takana and garlic to the ramen.

Located a short walk from Shibuya Station, this ramen shop is worth a visit! I always end up ordering the mentaiko mayo onigiri. They provide takana (mustard greens) and red pickled ginger at the seats, which you can freely refill!

Men no Bo, Toride
I have been coming to this favorite ramen shop in Jinsei for over 20 years! I visited on a rare day off to enjoy a leisurely lunch. First, I toasted with a bottle of Asahi Super Dry beer! Then I ordered the chashu plate. As always, the chashu was tender and delicious, especially when mixed with the special sauce and bean sprouts! It went perfectly with the beer! (I ended up drinking a whole bottle of beer just with the chashu plate) haha I also ordered the gyoza and another bottle of beer. So tasty. The owner's recommendation is vinegar and pepper, but personally, I like the gyoza sauce and chili oil! I still want to drink more beer, but it's only lunchtime so I'll resist. I then ordered the ramen, Toride Ramen, with extra green onions. The noodles were the usual thick noodles, slightly firm! Still delicious! The soup was rich and you could really taste the pork bone. And above all, the noodles were delicious! The homemade noodles made with the owner's heartfelt effort were the best! I ate too much, so I resisted getting a refill of noodles and just finished the soup. It was really delicious! Thank you for the meal♪ I'll definitely come back♪♪

Shibuya-ku, Jinbocho, "Hakata Ippudo", a renowned restaurant run by the top disciple of the owner, Masakatsu Nakatsubo. Established in 2001, "Men no Bo Toride".
■ Order: Toride Ramen (¥880)
■ Date of visit: 4/14/2023
In Ikejiri Ohashi, Meguro-ku, amidst the hustle and bustle of people smoking shisha or chisha, we indulged in the atmosphere of laughter and soba, heading towards the final gathering with the Five-Member Meeting and You and Me. Yes, the details of the first gathering will be saved for another time. Some people continue on to the second and third gatherings, some may even go until their jaws dislocate, but I had to excuse myself early as I had a solo event the next day. Yes, in a state of extreme excitement from the follow-up high, the vegetable stir-fry and gyoza were just side dishes. Now, "Toride Ramen". Let's put an end to the mysterious John Lennon game that's been trending among friends, but there's no fault in the final fortress.

I visited Men no Bo, a ramen shop near the site. I ordered the "Totte" ramen with nori and seasoned egg. I think it's to my liking. Next time, I plan to order a small plate of gyoza with rice. The rice comes with furikake seasoning.

I received the Toranomon Ramen for 880 yen. I often go there for a weekday work lunch break. It is one of my favorite tonkotsu ramen in Tokyo (it might even be better than what you can get in Fukuoka). I am grateful to have such a great restaurant in my lunch rotation.

I arrived at the restaurant on Monday around 1:45 pm. There was no wait and I was able to sit right away. The ordering system was not ticket-based, you order directly from the staff. Personally, I prefer this type of system. The taste had a subtle pork bone flavor, but I felt it was a bit light. It's a refined taste, not rich and creamy. If you are looking for a rich pork bone ramen, you may find it lacking. However, if you like a light taste, you will find it to be a delightful bowl. The service was good, and it was convenient to pay with PayPay (credit cards not accepted). Thank you for the meal.

Today I had a business trip in Tokyo again. At noon, I went to "Men no Bo Toride" in Shibuya-ku, Jinbo. It has been popular for over a decade. I arrived around 12:30 and there were about four people waiting in line, but I was able to get in relatively quickly. I ordered the "Toride Ramen" for 880 yen. The ramen was served within a few minutes of sitting down. I heard that the chef trained at Hakata Ippudo. If you like Hakata ramen, be sure to give it a try. It's delicious.

I found out online that the shop "Men no Bo Toride" was run by someone who trained at Ippudo, so I decided to go there for a meal before attending MISIA's live concert at Yokohama Arena. The first sip of soup was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating the tasty tonkotsu ramen with a gentle flavor that lingered. The shop in Shibuya somewhat reminded me of Karasoba. I finished every last drop of the soup. Thank you for the meal!
