This is a small, independently-owned izakaya located a little away from the bustling streets. If you want to enjoy a meal in a calm and relaxed atmosphere, this is a great place to visit. The dishes are mostly creative, and the recommended dishes of the day that we ordered were so delicious that we wished we had them while watching TV at home. The service was excellent as well. The cheerful and friendly female staff managed all the customers by herself, always serving with a smile even when busy. There were many foreign couples sitting at the counter, so I asked if there was a menu in English, and she kindly explained to me while making eye contact. However, the restaurant is quite small, with a capacity of around 30 people, so it may not be suitable for those looking to have a lively drinking session with friends. If you want a peaceful place to have a date in Kyoto or to have a drink with colleagues after work, this place will definitely satisfy you.

We also tried the ribeye steak with sea urchin, which was a unique Kyoto experience. If you're looking to enjoy authentic Kyoto cuisine, this place comes highly recommended. It's just a short walk from the station, surprisingly not too crowded, and you can even get a table on the same day with a reservation. A hidden gem, perhaps?

I often use this restaurant! There are no bad items on the menu and there are many types of alcohol, so it's fun ♡ The sea urchin was very delicious. There are many dishes using sea urchin, and although I didn't order them this time, I would like to try them next time!

I wanted to eat eel in Kyoto during the summer, so I made a reservation at this restaurant where it seemed like I could try various eel dishes. Even though I was dining alone, the very friendly owner took good care of me and I had a great time. I tried "Grilled Eel with Yuzu Peel," "Eel and Juntsai with Kudzu Sauce," "Seasonal Vegetable Tempura," "Fresh Oysters," and "Plum Wine." The total cost was around 7500 yen (including appetizers and tax). The eel prepared in the grilled and kudzu sauce styles were both new to me. Maybe the deboning could have been better as I found some bones, but overall, it was delicious.

Everything you eat is tasty, and the drinks are also delicious. A must-visit spot as the first place when in Kyoto! The staff are friendly and create a welcoming atmosphere.

I visited an izakaya called Kyoto Musubi located at the corner of Kiyamachi Street and Bukkoji Street. It is more of a small dish restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks. The all-you-can-drink sea bream dashi is delicious and a must-have for refills. It was my first visit so I asked for recommendations, but next time I want to enjoy sake slowly.

I visited on a weekend night. Located along the Takase River on Kiyamachi Street, "Kyoto no Musubime" is a small restaurant where you can enjoy delicious obanzai dishes in a casual izakaya setting. As we were strolling through the quiet Kiyamachi Street in search of a Kyoto-style dinner, the words "Kyoto" and "obanzai" caught our attention. We were drawn in by the inviting atmosphere of the restaurant and decided to enter. The cozy space allows you to see the entire restaurant from the counter where the chefs work. The staff, both the chefs and the servers, were young and friendly, creating a lively atmosphere. The dishes we ordered were as follows: - Freshly squeezed mandarin orange sake - Chicken and grated yam salad - Simmered thread konjac and shimeji mushrooms - Grilled local fish - Deep-fried tofu with broth - Ochazuke (rice in tea) The menu is not extensive, with a variety of salads, grilled dishes, tofu dishes, simmered dishes, rice dishes, and more. We started with the complimentary broth soup, which was refillable, and enjoyed the rich flavor of the dashi throughout all the dishes. While Kyoto cuisine is known for its subtle flavors, we found that the dishes here had a good balance of flavors, with a noticeable umami from ingredients like soy sauce. The atmosphere of the restaurant may vary depending on the clientele each day, but overall, it is a warm and welcoming place. Thank you for the meal.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming even though it was my first visit. I prefer strong flavors when it comes to drinking, but overall I found the flavors to be a bit too intense. The fried wheat gluten was delicious. The duck seemed to be magret duck, with a strong flavor similar to pork chashu, perhaps to mask any gaminess. The cooking was done very well. I was disappointed by the size of the shishamo fish roe, as they were supermarket-sized and quite pricey at 950 yen for 2 fish. Perhaps that's the Kyoto price... I learned something new. The potato salad was also delicious.

We made a reservation for 6 people and arrived at the restaurant. It turned out that some of us had been here before, even though it was my first time. It was a good thing we reserved because it was fully booked by 7 pm on a holiday. We opted for the smallest course and added some extras. The girls were satisfied with the amount of food. We had sashimi, salad, traditional side dishes, tempura, and a special egg dish. Everything was delicious! The staff was very friendly and the bill was surprisingly affordable, around 6,000 yen per person after having 3-4 drinks each. Apparently, they also serve a dish with sea urchin, so we'll have to try that next time!笑

It's been a while since I visited, and it was delicious as always! The sashimi platter with shrimp was new to me and very tasty! The restaurant was full and there were also foreigners dining. The prices are a bit high, but it's worth it for the delicious food!

When I arrived for my 7:00 reservation, the restaurant wasn't full yet, but by around 8:30, every time the door opened, we were told, "Sorry, we're full." Since it was just the two of us, we noticed that when it got crowded, the orders increased and the staff seemed busy, so it might be better to place your order in advance. I had heard that if a restaurant offers fresh wheat gluten on the menu, you should definitely try it, so I ordered the unusual fresh wheat gluten sashimi. We also tried a few other dishes, and everything was delicious.

I revisited the restaurant with the assumption that it would be good, and it was indeed delicious as the reviews said. The service was also very pleasant. The edamame appetizer was delicious, and we all enjoyed the sea urchin we came for with big smiles. It was really tasty without any unpleasant smell. However, the pickled vegetables assortment and the simmered zucchini were disappointingly small for the price. The gap between the great dishes and the underwhelming ones was a shame. It's no wonder this place is popular, but it's a pity to see it constantly empty. Even though it was fully booked on the day we went, it might be better to display that information upfront. There was a foreign couple who seemed to have been turned away for two consecutive days, and they were not happy about it.

The food was delicious even though the prices were low, but the small size was a downside.
