Kodama is famous for its all-you-can-eat prosciutto. I first learned about it when I visited Monte Asul in Omotesando. When Kodama opened a branch at Ecute Shinagawa inside Shinagawa Station, I knew they offered a morning special with all-you-can-eat prosciutto, but I never had the chance to visit. Finally, during a trip, I made a stop there for the first time. It was a little after 9:30 am and the counter was almost full, but we were lucky to find seats for two. The all-you-can-eat option was no longer available, but they had a morning plate for the price of a coin. You could choose from hot or iced coffee, hot or iced tea, and orange juice. We ordered iced coffee and iced tea. The cutlery box with numbered plates was given to us first, followed by our drinks. After about 5 minutes, our plates arrived at our table. The plate included three daily sausages, prosciutto, lettuce salad, boiled egg, mustard, and bread. With the drink included, the total price of 500 yen was very reasonable given the current economic situation. It makes sense that they only offer 80 servings per day. Serving this for lunch would make the business difficult. The taste was, of course, delicious. The salad consisted of just lettuce but was quite generous and tasted great with Caesar dressing. The bread was reheated and served hot. I wonder if the bread changes daily? It had a slit down the middle, making it possible to turn it into a hot dog. I enjoyed trying different combinations with the sausages, lettuce, and prosciutto. The bread was relatively small, so it disappeared quickly, but I still had some prosciutto, sausages, salad, and boiled egg left. I wished they offered additional bread for purchase. Throughout our meal, customers came and went, using both the counter seats and the terrace. After finishing my trip today, I plan to stop by and purchase some prosciutto and sausages to take home. Thank you for the meal.
