After a long time, I had a drink at Handsome Shokudo and ended up eating ramen at RAGE to finish off the night. Oh no, I did it again. I was torn between getting a blend, but I chose the shio version. The complex flavor of the shio soup is incredibly delicious. I also love the texture of the low-hydration straight thin noodles. The two types of char siu (chicken and pork) are also really tasty. Hmm, RAGE's shio ramen is definitely the best. Thank you for the meal.

◇Special Chicken Ramen 1,350 yen◇Chashu Rice 300 yen
Second stop on my Tokyo expedition. It took about 5 minutes on foot from Nishi-Ogikubo Station heading south. Nishi-Ogikubo is truly charming, with popular curry shops and more catching my eye. The restaurant was not too busy in the early afternoon, so we were seated right away. I was torn between the Chicken Ramen and the Dried Sardine Ramen, but I followed the rule of "when in doubt, go for the top left" and ordered the Special Chicken Ramen which comes with seasoned egg and chashu. The soy sauce-based soup was delicious. When you have soy sauce-based soup in Kyushu, the sweetness of Kyushu soy sauce really stands out, but the soy sauce used in Kanto ramen is just perfect. The chashu was also tasty and I left the restaurant fully satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

The skill of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog! First visit to a famous shop even for cup ramen! I arrived at 18:00 on Sunday afternoon and was seated immediately without waiting. Lucky! I ordered the special Gunki Chicken ramen for ¥1,350! Gunki chicken, a type of chicken known for its fighting spirit and high reputation for taste. The soup made with 100% Gunki chicken is light and refreshing, with a sharp soy sauce base that matches perfectly with the oil. The noodles are thin and firm, and you can enjoy two types of chashu: Gunki chicken and pork. The seasoned egg is flavorful and perfectly cooked. Thank you for the bowl of ramen that pursues the essence of Chinese-style ramen.

I had tsukemen for the first time and it was amazing! The shamo ramen had a rich flavor and the low-temperature cooked chashu was delicious even without dipping it in the soup. When dipped, it provided a great change in temperature and taste. The soup refill option really fills you up!

The chicken soup was excellent! The unique interior and stylish staff at this store, which combines art, apparel, and ramen, create a cool atmosphere. Although the ramen is a bit on the pricier side, it's worth it. The noodles are similar to the now-gone Kurosu, smooth yet they absorb the soup well, and they're served at the perfect temperature. And the chicken soup is outstanding. It was shining with flavor. I've added this place to my list of restaurants to visit again when I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal!

NishiogiKubo, Menso RAGE Special Gunki Chicken Ramen for 1350 yen. I arrived and got seated after 2 PM, and the place was almost full. There were one or two people waiting here and there. The self-serve water had a refreshing hint of lemon. You order at your seat and pay when leaving. I ordered the special Gunki chicken ramen. It took about 5-6 minutes for it to be served (just my personal perception). The appearance was a classic Chinese-style ramen with three types of slow-cooked chashu, soft-boiled seasoned egg, menma, green onions, and daikon radish sprouts as toppings. The noodles were thin and firm. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere aimed at young people, but the soup was gentle and subtly sweet with a light taste. The chashu, made from pork shoulder and belly, was moist, tender, and flavorful. Overall, it was a very gentle yet flavorful dish, so I enjoyed it all the way to the end. Nearby parking is limited and expensive, so it's better to visit by train during peak hours. #NishiogiKubo #ramen #gunkichickenramen #specialgunkichickenramen #MensoRAGE

I visited one of the top 100 ramen shops in Nishi-Ogikubo, "Menso RAGE," for the first time. The stylish ambiance of the restaurant got me excited even before entering. Arriving a bit past 2 PM, I was the 6th in line to enter and was seated within around 10 minutes. I ordered the special chicken ramen for 1350 yen. The soup had a sharp shoyu (soy sauce) flavor with a rich chicken umami. There seemed to be chicken oil covering the surface of the soup. The soup tasted a bit salty when had on its own. The thin noodles had a strong chewiness that paired well with the soup. The quality of the toppings was also excellent and made the dish delicious. I contemplated getting extra noodles but decided to try a different flavor, so I ordered the dipping noodles (Niboshi) for 1200 yen as my second bowl. The noodles soaked in kombu broth were slicker and chewier compared to the chicken ramen noodles. The dipping sauce had a strong flavor of dried fish that complemented the noodles well. The overall experience was similar to the chicken ramen in terms of balance and flavors. Squeezing some lemon onto the noodles and then dipping them into the sauce created a harmonious balance of flavors that felt refreshing, perfect for beating the summer heat. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to the ramen shop "Menson RAGE" in Nishi-Ogikubo! I had the special chicken ramen (1350 yen) with an extra serving of noodles (250 yen)! They have a special soup with a lot of attention to detail, even adjusting the cooking method based on the season and the condition of the chicken. The straight thin noodles complement the broth well. The seasoned egg is firm, not too soft. The chashu comes in three types - chicken breast, pork shoulder, and pork belly. The combination of tasty chashu and delicious noodles makes getting an extra serving of noodles worth it! Even just the noodles alone are delicious. There are also affiliated shops in Nakano and Hanakoganei.

This is Ramen Hyakumeiten in Nishi-Ogikubo! They have won the Food Log Award Bronze and seem to be a regular at the Michelin Bib Gourmand. This ramen shop specializes in chicken and soy sauce! They also offer dishes like dried fish ramen and mazesoba. It's great that they are open every day! I visited around 3:30 pm on a Saturday to avoid the crowds, and luckily I was seated immediately at the counter. The staff are all young, and the owner looks like someone from King Gnu. The shop is stylish from the storefront to the interior. I ordered the special chicken ramen (1,350 yen including tax)! They use carefully selected chicken broth from all over Japan, along with Iberico ham and several types of dried foods to enhance the flavor. They even change the way they cook the soup based on the season and the condition of the chicken. The ramen arrived in about 10 minutes. It has a nice soy sauce aroma, and the soup has a gentle flavor. The thin noodles have the perfect firmness. The chashu, menma, and flavored egg were all top-notch! I still think soy sauce ramen is the best! Thank you for the meal!

I chose the Gunkan Tsukemen. It had a rich chicken flavor soup and a strong dipping sauce. The noodles were thin straight noodles from Mikawaya. The noodles were placed on kelp water, topped with grated kelp and chili powder. It may be a little plain, but the chicken was really flavorful, almost sweet.

I came to Nishi-Ogikubo station and found Ramen shop called Men RAGE, so I decided to visit here. I arrived a little before 12 o'clock. There were 2 people waiting in line but I was able to get in quickly. The prices are a bit high, but since I don't come here often, I ordered the special ramen. It came with chashu and a boiled egg. The ramen had a good soy sauce flavor without any unpleasant smell. They don't offer larger portions, but you can order extra noodles. They recommended eating it like tsukemen, so I tried it and it was delicious. I enjoyed the meal very much.

I tried the special chicken soba at RAGE! The soup is a light soy sauce-based broth with a strong chicken flavor. As you can see, the soup is clear and has a refreshing taste. The noodles are thin and slippery, coating well with the soup. They have a good chewy texture, so you can even get a refill if you want. The roasted pork is tender and moist, with a chewy ham-like texture. The flavored egg looks rich but actually has a light seasoning. Although I found it delicious as a soy sauce ramen, I felt it was a bit lacking for someone like me who prefers a more substantial ramen. The special ramen costs 1350 yen and has a slightly small portion, so the cost performance is not the best.

I had always wanted to visit this restaurant, and since I happened to be nearby, I decided to go. It was just before 2:30 PM and I was able to enter without having to wait. They didn't use a ticket machine system. I ordered the special chicken ramen and an extra serving of noodles. The soy sauce soup had a rich flavor and paired well with the chewy noodles, making it very delicious! However, I didn't feel like it stood out compared to other chicken ramen from different shops. The extra noodles came with a sauce that seemed to be the same as the one used in the ramen. It would have been more interesting if the extra noodles had a different flavor. I think I'll try the dried fish ramen next time.

This is a famous soy sauce ramen shop in Nishi-Ogikubo. They serve a delicious soy sauce soup with a rich chicken broth and straight thin noodles that are cooked perfectly. The shop is located on the ground floor of a building along a small alley off the shopping street, so it might be easy to miss. The funky interior design doesn't look like a typical ramen shop. I ordered the special chicken ramen (¥1,350 including tax) which comes with an extra seasoned egg and two slices of chashu. The chicken soy sauce broth was clear and flavorful, with a nice kick. The noodles were satisfying and I couldn't stop slurping them up. The seasoned egg was a bit firm but still good, and the bamboo shoots were a unique triangle shape. Towards the end, I tried adding black pepper and chili powder from the condiments on the table, which added a nice twist to the flavors. Overall, it was a simple yet delicious bowl of ramen.

Two days in a row, I went to Nishi-Ogikubo for work. On the first day, I couldn't stop by and was frustrated... On the second day, around 2 PM, I went and there was only me waiting. The waiting room was so hot... but I endured it. After about 5 minutes, I was able to enter! Huh, how do you read this... Gondori? Gunkei? "I'll have the special one of this!" "The special 'shamo' tsukemen, right!" I'm glad I didn't have to say it. The noodles soaked in kelp water had great texture and were delicious. The richness of the chicken soup was amazing, I couldn't read it. Despite the heat, I slurped it all up! Thank you for the delicious meal!

I arrived at the restaurant around 12:00 on a holiday, the place was packed, and as I left around 12:30, there were about 10 people waiting in line. It was my 7th visit in 2 months, and after trying the regular ramen and dipping ramen, I decided to order their speciality, the chicken ramen, which cost 1350 yen. It arrived in about 10 minutes and included 3 types of char siu (chicken breast, pork shoulder, pork belly), flavored egg, bamboo shoots, green onions, and sprouts. The soup was rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of soy sauce and chicken flavors. The noodles were chewy and had a nice texture, and the low-temperature cooked char siu was particularly delicious. Overall, despite the restaurant being a bit too warm, the chicken ramen was definitely worth going back for.

The soup, which carefully extracts the umami of the lean and muscular fighting chicken with low fat content, has a very nice aroma and lingering aftertaste! The thin noodles are refreshing, making it even more delicious to eat in the summer. While I usually prefer pork bone and seafood-based soups, I haven't had much chicken-based soups like chicken paitan, but I really enjoyed the light taste!

I heard from a friend that there is a delicious chicken soba restaurant near Nishi-Ogikubo Station, so I went there right away. After researching, I found out that they also have tsukemen and maze soba, which made me indecisive when I arrived at the shop. In the end, they were sold out of tsukemen, so I ordered the special chicken soba instead! The rich chicken broth and thin noodles were a perfect match and tasted amazing! Thank you for the meal!

It's 20 minutes before the 11 AM opening time. I am fifth in line. It's been a while since I last visited here. Perhaps due to the daily heat, it's not as crowded as before, even when I leave. The noodles are topped with grated yam and seven spice, and the dipping sauce has chunks of char siu in it. Lemon for flavor change is served on a separate plate. The dried fish in the dipping sauce has a strong flavor. I enjoyed slurping up the noodles and also tried the soup refills. Thank you for the meal.

In the scorching heat, I tried the recommended Tori Paitan Tsukemen by the staff. The soup, a blend of chicken broth and the right amount of acidity, was incredibly delicious! The thin noodles topped with grated yam and the low-temperature cooked char siu and seasoned egg were also superb. I finished it in no time, feeling completely satisfied!

The famous specialty chicken ramen at the ramen shop "Menso RAGE" in Nishi-Ogikubo is exquisite! Using carefully selected chicken bone broth from all over the country and combining it with marinated chicken, Chinese ham, and several types of dried ingredients, it creates the ultimate dish. They are particular about adjusting the cooking method based on the season and the condition of the chicken, showing great dedication.
