First visit, arrived at the reservation time. When I was folding my umbrella, a staff member called out my name and helped me. I was impressed by the high level of service right from the start! Started with a beer and then the Shirasagi course began. The appetizers consisted of 5 dishes, all of which were delicious, but the blowfish skin jelly was exceptional. Switched to white wine at this point. Next was a steamed egg dish. When the lid was lifted, the scent of yuzu spread and the taste was amazing, but the scent was even more amazing. The sashimi was served in a unique stacked presentation. I thought it was just one piece, but there was another layer underneath! It was fresh, sweet, and delicious. Next was a dish of fried grated yam. It maintained a fluffy texture of yam while also having a good chewiness, a superb dish. Switched to sake from here. The grilled dish was black cod marinated in Saikyo miso, which was irresistible for those who love grilled dishes. Perfect match with sake! Following that, simmered dishes and fried dishes kept coming one after another. Both went perfectly with sake. The timing of switching was spot on. And finally, the grand finale of barley rice porridge time! A pot of barley rice arrived and we devoured it in no time. The meal ended with matcha ice cream with grated yam. Good food, good drinks, good service, it was a very enjoyable weekend. Thank you for the feast!

I visited this restaurant after my child's shrine visit and I was satisfied with it. We chose a private room as we were with a baby, which led us to opt for a course meal. The courses range from 8800 yen for the private room option, with additional room charges. The meal was a traditional Japanese course, with the option to choose either green tea soba or barley rice at the end. The photo shows the appetizer and barley rice. The prices felt a bit high, even for a tourist spot. For lunch, I think a compromise of around 5000-6000 yen would be more reasonable. The food was nothing special, but if you don't mind not having a private room, I believe you can be satisfied with the barley rice set meal.

I ordered the tea soba set. The soba was really delicious! They also had a proper course meal set, which is perfect for family gatherings. They kept refilling the warm tea for us, and there were warm towels in the restroom, which was nice.

I went to Sky Buffet. It's a small place, but you can eat as much as you want in 80 minutes. The mugitoro, among other things, was delicious. I liked putting both the dashi and miso flavors on my rice. The grated nagaimo at the udon section was very sticky because it wasn't diluted with dashi. The tororo croquettes were only available in the first serving, so it's better to grab some while they last. The steak that you can request was also delicious, and the tororo mousse at the dessert corner was tasty too.

I had famous barley rice and grated yam in Asakusa. The grated yam is already well-seasoned on its own. I also tried adding soy sauce halfway through, and that was also delicious. Grated yam is good for your body (*^^*) I had a delicious lunch. I would like to try the buffet next time. Thank you for the meal (^∧^)

I went to eat the Barley Toro Lunch on the first floor for 1500 yen. I met up with a friend in front of the restaurant around 11:30 on a weekday. There were already about 10 people waiting in line. We told the receptionist inside the restaurant how many people and which floor we wanted to use, then went back outside to wait. We were told there were 7 groups ahead of us, but after waiting for about 30 minutes, our name was called and we were seated inside. We paid first and were then shown to our seats. We were seated at a window-side table for four people, sitting next to each other with another group, but it didn't bother us. The staff explained everything to us, and we received a tray with chopsticks where we could place our food. It's all-you-can-eat, but you basically serve yourself from a set menu. Barley rice, grated yam, daily side dishes, rolled omelette, pickles, miso soup, tea, and water. The main dish was simmered tripe♪ The flavor was gentle and comforting... I don't usually eat so much grated yam, it was a bit sweet, with an elegant flavor. The vegetables were cooked very soft, and the konjac was refined... different from the konjac I usually eat... The rolled omelette was also refined. Sweet, like a sweet rolled omelette... The first-floor restaurant is small, and since the main dish is grated yam, there are no children even though it's all-you-can-eat... There are also few male customers, so it's not that noisy. Even when it's full, it's quiet! And everyone finishes their meal quickly, so I think the turnover rate is good. Alcoholic drinks and coffee are extra, but since no one seems to be ordering drinks, I guess they don't stay long. Once we had seconds and were full, we got up from our seats. We bought some snacks at the shop and went home. There was yam-filled yokan and castella. I didn't try them, so I can't comment on the taste. You can't choose the types of side dishes, but for 1500 yen, being full is quite a deal. This time, a friend from my hometown came to Tokyo and stayed in Asakusa, so we chose this place. I had wanted to visit when sightseeing in Asakusa, so the timing was perfect. Thank you for the meal! I would like to use it again when I come to sightsee in Asakusa!

I visited the restaurant at 12:30 on the weekend. I arrived around 11:30 and made a reservation for the Sky Totoro Buffet at 12:30. The buffet venue on the top floor was small with counter seats and table seats facing outside. You could see the Skytree outside, creating a fun atmosphere. There were quite a variety of dishes, mainly Japanese cuisine. There were three types of Totoro, and you could mix them with barley rice, udon, curry, etc. There were also salads and simmered dishes, and the salad dressing with Totoro was delicious. The Totoro croquettes had a unique texture but a tasty flavor, and dishes like braised pork, stick chicken, grilled fish, and rolled omelet were all satisfying and delicious. The desserts mainly consisted of mousse with Totoro, allowing me to end the meal with a Totoro-filled experience. Although the venue was small, I think each dish was delicious. If your goal is to eat Totoro, you can definitely achieve it here. It's a buffet, but the restaurant is not too crowded, allowing for a calm dining experience. Highly recommended.

I went to the top floor buffet at 11:00 on Monday. I made a reservation a week ago. Although it opens at 11:00, those who made reservations around 10:50 were allowed in. All dishes either use ingredients that go well with grated yam or contain grated yam. Desserts included grated yam mousse, coffee mousse, jelly made from water, and wet rice crackers.

The 1500 yen all-you-can-eat lunch course overall was quite satisfying. The barley rice was delicious too! The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and the interior was quite clean and good. However, if you go with a small group (2 people), you may have to sit facing someone else at a shared table, which was a bit uncomfortable. It's understandable since the place was crowded though!

The shop where tororo is the main dish is really delicious! The tororo barley rice is rich, sweet, and sticky, topped with plenty of soy sauce-based tororo and miso-based tororo, it's a happiness to savor. Each dish is a star in itself. This time, my favorite was the "Spanish mackerel nanban-zuke". The large and thick Spanish mackerel is marinated with onions and carrots, and the dressing for the salad is also tororo-based, which is characteristic. The "Vegetable Gratin" with plenty of vegetables, the sweet and delicious "Pork Kakuni", the "Marinated Tuna" with tororo, the crispy "Tororo Udon" which can also be eaten with broth without tororo, the soft "Steak" with free refills, the classic Japanese dish "Chikuzen-ni", and various other dishes. The desserts are also delicious, but the combination of tea and a white dessert like tororo pudding was outstanding and a great way to finish the meal. I always end up eating until the last minute, it was delicious and happy! Thank you for the meal.

I went to a famous Mugitoro restaurant in Asakusa. Even though it was 15 minutes before opening on a weekday, there was already a long line... After waiting for about an hour, I finally got inside the restaurant. The first floor offers a buffet for 1,500 yen where you can eat as much Mugitoro and side dishes as you want! However, sharing a table with others is common to increase turnover. But for 1,500 yen, all-you-can-eat Mugitoro and side dishes is a great deal. The tororo is filling and recommended for those who want to eat a lot! ★

A lunch for 1,500 yen. Unlimited servings of barley rice, grated yam with flavorful broth, simmered dish, rolled omelette, and miso soup. The grated yam rice is really delicious on its own, but considering the price of 1,500 yen, I feel like there could be more variety in the menu.

I went on a date with my grandma to enjoy the course meal at Mugitoro. We made a reservation for 6:30 PM and the restaurant was relatively empty. There were some foreigners, probably because it's in Asakusa. I started with a Momozake on the rocks, which was refreshing on a hot June day. The course meal was satisfying, and I ended up feeling very full, probably because I also snacked on what my grandma couldn't finish. It was a shame that I couldn't finish the last bit of the Mugitoro, but overall it was a great dining experience.

I enjoyed the Sky Buffet. It included salad, simmered dishes, croquettes, gratin, steak, barley rice, curry, dessert, and drinks all for a very reasonable price on weekends. All the dishes were delicious. It's just as good as a hotel buffet in terms of taste and portion size. The limited seating meant there wasn't much of a line to get the food.

Asakusa's first high-end grated yam soba restaurant! It was still too expensive for me to go on my own, but the retro and luxurious atmosphere of the shop was overwhelming. I ordered the signature wheat soba with grated yam, and both the yam and soba were incredibly delicious. The sweets that came with it were also delicious. It was a great Asakusa meal with a clear view of the Skytree.

During weekdays, this place is crowded with only Japanese people. The first floor offers a buffet for around 1500 yen, while the 2nd and 3rd floors require reservations for set meals ranging from 2000 to 6000 yen, mainly for groups. On the 4th floor, you can enjoy a buffet for 3300 yen while overlooking the Sumida River, Asahi beer statue, and Skytree. There is no waiting time, so I chose the 4th floor. An elevator boy guided us to the venue. On the right side, there were dishes like barley rice, dashi-wari tororo, miso-wari tororo, curry soba, gratin, croquettes, etc. The only downside is that the rotation is slow, so some dishes may get cold. The condition of the barley rice might be better on the first floor. It might not be very relaxing, but it's worth a try.

I visited this restaurant for lunch for the first time. They have a buffet on the first floor, but the line was too long, so I opted for a regular lunch set on the second floor. On the third floor, they have a sky-high tororo buffet that requires reservations made the day before. The staff were very polite and even escorted me to my table, which was spacious and allowed for a relaxing dining experience. I ordered the sashimi and tororo set, and the steamed barley rice that came in a steamer was warm and delicious. The tororo was sticky and incredibly tasty, and the sashimi was thickly sliced and sweet. It was a series of delightful surprises. With excellent service and delicious food, I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal.

I went to a restaurant called "Asakusa Mugitoro Main Store" that I had been interested in for a while on the first day at lunch. The restaurant is located near Asakusa, next to "Komagata-do". The exterior was under construction so I couldn't see what it looked like. Luckily, it wasn't crowded as we went during off-peak hours. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious but cozy. We were seated at a table and ordered the following dishes for myself, my wife, and my second son: - Unatoro Soba (Eel and grated yam over buckwheat noodles) 3850 yen - Mugitoro (Grated yam over barley rice) 2420 yen - Mugitoro Soba (Grated yam over buckwheat noodles) 2420 yen I ordered the "Unatoro Soba" and while the eel was not exceptional, the barley rice and grated yam were delicious. It was quite pricey, but we enjoyed our meal and left satisfied. It was a good experience to finally visit the restaurant.

Lunchtime. In front of the restaurant, a disorderly long line has formed. I inform the staff at the entrance that I am waiting for a table. I did not make a reservation. The important decision here is whether to choose a buffet style or a set meal. This choice will determine the waiting time and the room you will be seated in. Since many people are attracted to the buffet style where you can have unlimited grated yam and barley rice, opting for a set meal will likely result in a shorter wait time. I choose a set meal with a short wait time, and I was called in about 15 minutes. I was taken to the "Komagata Room" on the 2nd floor via an elevator. There are various options for the set meal. I choose the "Juroku Ayame Zensai" which allows for refills of barley rice and grated yam. The servers in traditional Japanese attire are efficient and impressive. The grated yam is likely seasoned with dashi soy sauce made from bonito and kelp. The Juroku Ayame Zensai lives up to its name with a colorful presentation, delicious small appetizers, and a tasty overall meal. The meal included: grated yam, steamed basket (barley rice), 16 kinds of appetizers, pickles, miso soup, and dessert (matcha ice cream with grated yam). It was a delightful meal. I'll make a reservation for the Sky Grated Yam Buffet next time.

Currently undergoing exterior renovation, I visited this place known for its famous mugitoro (barley with tororo). The menu offers a variety of options from set meals to special dishes, but this time I chose the Mugitoro Gozen. The meal was very abundant with a wide variety of dishes, and not just the mugitoro, but all the other dishes were also very delicious. The sashimi, in particular, was very fresh and tasty. They mentioned that the barley rice was all-you-can-eat, but I was already full. I highly recommend the Mugitoro Gozen, which even comes with dessert.

Tokyo Asakusa, "Asakusa Mugitoro". I walked from Asakusa Azumabashi to Komagatabashi. When I tried to pass through Komagatabashi, I found a line. I decided to try it out and entered the restaurant. I waited a bit and chose the ¥1,500 all-you-can-eat Mugitoro course. A large mortar filled with a lot of grated yam, and a large steamer filled with a lot of barley rice. I mixed the barley rice with the grated yam and enjoyed it. I also had delicious motsu stew and rolled omelette for seconds, and kept enjoying more. I lost count of how many refills I had, but in the end, I got some wasabi, took the last bite of Mugitoro, and felt fully satisfied.
